Why does the arm not go down on a Beogram 6002

A subscriber had a wish to see why the arm on the turntable does not go down. So Kay crack the Beogram open and find out the mecanics.

I have a Beogram Rx2 but no cartridge, that is the biggest problem with B&O turntables. there is a company that makes them but they are quite expensive.

Jag köpte nyligen en Beogram 6002 och har samma problem med Pickup-armen. När den 'släpper' armen her det ca 5 mm kvar till vinylskivan... Inga tips?

That's called a solenoid and mine doesn't work but the wires attached are thinner than a hair

Yes of course. A solenoid. The guy is getting old and forgetting fast..
Unfortunately, because of not much power needed, the wires on the solenoid become extremely thin. And they are also insulated in a thin layer of lacquer.
