Tip for anyone going for the first time, try to go on a weekday, it gets insanely crowded on the weekends/holidays. If you plan on doing the loop trail from the lodge you might want to go DOWN the stairs and come back up the trail by the visitors center, it's a much easier, but still somewhat difficult incline going back up the trail.

Hey! You pay only $5 to get in the park, they take cash at the gate or credit/debit at the visitor center. There is a small store inside the lodge and the visitor center. There is also a restaurant at the lodge, however, the menu is limited. There is another trail called the east ridge trail, we’ve never hiked that trail. You could also drive up and down the road next to the falls.

Thank you very much for the sub and binge watching! 😁😁 Amicalola is a great start for your family, another Park that is somewhat close by that we recommend, is Brasstown Bald which is above Helen, which Helen itself is awesome if you haven’t been already. Also Anna Ruby falls near Helen is nice as well. They are all in the same general area. We hope you enjoy your trip and let us know how it goes 😁😁

Great video! Thanks for sharing. To get to the place we see at 5:15, can we park and walk, or do we have a lot of steps to climb? If so, how many? Trying to plan a weekend trip with a baby and wondering whether to bring the baby carrier or the stroller. Thanks!
You can walk or drive actually. It depends on what you prefer. Walking is strenuous and there are a lot of stairs and steep grades. Either way it’s is absolutely worth it!
If you do drive, keep inn mind, your engine will be working really hard.

How long did it take you to get to the top?
It's been awhile since we've been here but it takes a while. Especially if you take breaks frequently
Do I have to use the steps to come back down or is it different?
Sorry I'm just now getting back to you! You can either take the steps down or you can drive up and down whichever you prefer. What we usually do when we have family is we drive to the midway point and then walk to the middle of the falls, then get back in the car and drive to the top and view the top of the falls.
how long did it take to hike to the top?
Probably an hour or two. We took frequent breaks.

For this video, at the time we were using the Yi 4K and a basic Nikon 4K coolpix camera. Since then we’ve upgraded to the Canon M50 which we absolutely LOVE! It is a little pricey but it is worth it and easy to use. Check it out amzn.to/2w6UwcV
At what point does the trail to Amicalola Falls depart from the Appalachian Aproach Trail?
Not sure, never been that far. You get there from the park visiting center according to the maps given at the park. I hope that helps!
There is an separate trail that connects to the AT from the lodge up at the top of the mountain. You have to drive all the way up to the very top.
