I have purchased and used a number of Duratech tools. For the most part I have been satisfied with the the quality and at a very affordable price. At this point the only items I found to be a fail have been the pipe wrenches. They just do not grab the pipe like other quality wrenches. The build looks and feels good. My Ridgid and Milwaukee wrenches just do the job.
thanks for sharing your experience, I would agree there are just some tools you have to get major professional brands to achieve your goal. I feel the same when it comes to the “water pump” pliers by Knipex, I haven’t been able to find anyone else who comes close to them.
The offset double box end wrench set is awesome for a guy like me I wrench on my bikes and vehicles when I need to. I’m not paying $300 plus for something like this that I will use once in a while if I was wrenching for my job every day, I would have no problem paying that kind of money for my tools. I have some of their ratchet wrenches they work, but they’re too large of a profile.
I’ve bought 9 or 10 of the metric combination wrench sets. Jeep club giveaways. These are without a doubt the best value for a full set of metric combination wrenches from 8-22. Every size you need for most Jeeps is covered. To get the extra couple large wrenches in combination with other sets that are already more expensive for the quality adds to the cost of the other sets even more. And the fit and finish on them is great PLUS the tool roll they come with is nicer than many that sell for $20’standalone. With brands like this I’m not interested in ratcheting mechanisms or bits etc. They just always seem to be less precise with the budget brands. But for non ratcheting wrenches? These rock. To be honest, they’re just as nice quality as my Tekton wrench sets. AND their thin wrench set is another crazy good deal along with their box end wrenches.
Great vid. I have been using the DuraTech extra-long ratcheting wrenches for just over a year in my home shop, and I'm very happy with them. You have to know what you are using a tool for before buying it. Mine are used mostly on various lawn equipment which have been well-maintained. When guys buy brands like Duratech and then try to use them to break loose frozen/rusted bolts in a professional shop, then go online and bitch about the brand when it breaks are idiots. There are different quality tools out there. Pick the one that suits your needs......
Comments like, "these are crap, failed on me first time out" always have me suspect. Never in my life have I had a tool fail first time out. It seems plenty of people in comment sections do though. Mucho nonsense talked in comments section though. Amazing how that happens.
They’re still holding up, I haven’t put them through some really heavy duty stuff yet but they’ve definitely got me out of some jams with the leverage on the long wrenches
There’s no angle lift to the box end of the SAE ratchet wrenches. You could’ve just purchased Pittsburgh’s double ratchet wrenches and accepted those with lifetime warranty. Though if you wanted some angle lift, I would’ve chosen some other flip switch reversible set. The ratcheting side is sometimes too bulky and too flat an angle to fit. - No comment on the flex heads, though.
I have had some wenches with only 2 teeth , worked great for me. ( got the job done) Sloppy ain't bad either, kinda like eating left overs ..👍Great job Tyler..we'll be waiting for more information..
Thanks so much for the video. Now that you have being used duratech tools. Do you recommend them? I ask because i'm thinking to Buy a tool set..i Also i' think about de Walt tool set... what tool set do you recommend...considering the price?.. Thanks in advanced
My duratech tools have been good so far, use them at work regularly. I think you can get a lot of their tools for your money. Also check out other great affordable tool companies such as Tekton, Sunex, and Olsa Tools.
Duratech tools are really hit and miss so be careful what you buy from them especially the ratcheting wrenches which are utter trash. Most of the ratcheting wrenches break on the first use just like the cheap GearWrench brand 😉 If you're looking for a quality ratcheting wrench set for a decent price then look no farther than Tekton. Trust me, they are worth the extra cash because no one likes using a tool for the first time only to have it break 😁
I must of gotten hits then my standard non-reversible ratcheting wrenches work flawlessly. The extra long box end ratcheting wrenches have a lot of flop in the flex head but as far as torque capacity it holds up well breaking things loose…if I have a constant demand for them on a daily basis I would get snap on…
Interesting to hear, I haven’t broken one yet I use the standard ratcheting wrenches daily, the flex head long ones have loose floppy heads but still work fine.
I own some duratech pliers and I don't find them junk or garbage I have had those pliers going on since trump got in as president and they are still brand and good as brand new as the day I purchased them and with all respect and hate to burst your bubble they may not be made in the USA quality but for what they are. they are descent quality (to me) and don't find any problems with their tools. They are for the money spent descent quality tools. But time will tell if my pliers break but so far so good. I am not saying that they are Klein or snap-on quality but for the money spent they are enough to get by. Maybe you got a bad batch or one tool that failed or became broken at time of arrival or broke while using it cause I purchased a pair of channellocks brand pliers and they were a v-jaw pair with the bottom Jaw with messed up bottom Jaw the teeth were forged wrong but had them replaced and that was that.
@@Gettin_To_It_Tech Yeah, I'm not gonna believe that bottom tier great star duratrash has tighter tolerances than Takton does. Half the time the box ends aren't even broached squarely.
That second you said made in china it was enough for me to say nope and no other need to watch the video. Great video for the little bit that I saw. U answered what I wanted to know. If it would have been Japan or Taiwan it would have been way better quality but since it’s cheap Chinese crap was enough for me to avoid it when I see it on Amazon 👍
Glad you could make a good decision based on what you saw. Wish you luck in your search for a solid ratcheting wrench set. My suggestions: Budget friendly: Gearwrench Top quality: Snap On
@@TurboTyTy I wouldn’t buy snap on, great tools but way way way too expensive. I always use craftsman, Milwaukee, and Dewalt. You did a really great job on this video Tyler. Looking forward to what’s coming up.
Thank you Steve I appreciate it, lots to come this new year.
Good video bro! CANT wait to see the updates on these and other tools..
Thanks 😊 lots more to come 🥳
Good video Tyler most definitely keep us posted on how they hold up
Using them right now at work, so far so good. I will definitely do a long term review.

I have a set an i use them for lot of hydraulic lines an fittings for holding back up on o ring boss fittings
good use for them, and for the price you can’t beat it.

Definitely looking to purchase these. How are ratcheting wrenches holding up. And if so do you know how the lifetime warranty works. Thanks again

In the works, just for you Mark 😉

Still working out great!

I love leftovers almost as much as you Howard.
Turbo TyTy, What warranty do you get with Duratech (I do not own any Durateck). I have had very good luck with Texton and from Auto Zone Duralast.
They’re lifetime warranty on all hand tools. However I haven’t had to use any warranty yet all tools still holding up 👍🏽
Duratech has been around since the 60s they tools for name brands
Interesting 🤔

Tekton no longer carries the extra long flex head ratcheting wrenches.
cheap tools, zero warranty, you are much better off spending a few dollars more for a lifetime warranty/better product
Duratech is outright garbage, and they most certainly don't make anything for Matco.
