- Walking tour around Madeira Beach in Florida.
Madeira Beach is a small coastal town in Pinellas County, Florida that stretches along the Gulf of Mexico. Like most Gulf Coast beaches waves are very small so surfing is rare however skim boarding and boogy boarding is common.
In Madeira Beach, the sun, white-sand beaches and emerald-turquoise waters invite swimming and sunning. Be a beachcomber for the day, or just sit and watch the action from the shade of a beach umbrella.

This place is super gorgeous. I love the cosy, charming shops, palm trees, sense of community and family, beautiful marinas etc. I wish we could recreate this in South Africa.

DeLosa's Pizza is the best pizza our family has ever eaten!!!! Highly recommended 🍕👍Madeira Beach and John's Pass are like home to me, and I've only been there twice, will be there again this July.

My wife and I got there yesterday and the red tide has taken the place over bring tears to my eyes

I realize there's been a long history of red tide in those waters, but since that Vasquez Oil spill it must have gotten much worse. So tragic, not only for the people but for the marine life. I do wonder if the Gulf will ever be completely free of red tide again - between the oil spill, industrial waste, and infrastructure inadequate for the growing population, it is a formidable combination to conquer, at least not in the short term.
