    Be your own Guru is actually the greatest lesson ever taught. Vikram is truly a GREAT TEACHER!!!
    Dao De Jing Chapter 2: Therefore the sage manages affairs without doing anything, and conveys his instructions without the use of speech.All things spring up, and there is not one which declines to show itself; they grow, and there is no claim made for their ownership; they go through their processes, and there is no expectation (of a reward for the results). The work is accomplished, and there is no resting in it (as an achievement).
    The work is done, but how no one can see;
    'Tis this that makes the power not cease to be.

      I agree with you that he is a great teacher! One of the best! We need more spiritual teachers like him in this world to help people find their own truth from within. It may have been a made up religion, but he still taught ancient wisdom. Buddha would probably be very happy Vikram is such a great teacher. It was almost like a Western Buddhist pretending to be an eastern Hindi Guru. I appreciate Buddhism even more now though I am a Christian. :-)

      Always believed in this concept that the Guru can be within, don't have to seek it outside.

    I loved this documentary (Kumaré). It teaches us how to find all the answers, WITHIN us. As a high school teacher myself, there is no better legacy that I can leave my students with.

    Wonderful message.
    Famous CORPORATE GURU in India Sadhguru has very huge followings, became multi millionaire, good thing is day by day he is facing more criticism and being questioned.

    This documentary was amazing. I think sometimes people do enjoy permission slips such as gurus.

    I stumbled through a spiritual interview that Kumare film was mention and recommended it by the host about the gurus.
    After watching Kumare documentary film I realized that we truly don’t need a guru to follow. But at the end of the movie Kumare came out to reveal his true self who he really is and 10 out of the 14 people that believe and received him as a guru continue to stay in touch with him but the other 4 have no contacted him again.
    The big question I have been thinking is what really happened, or feeling to the 4 followers not to be in contact with him??
    Their ego of being lied until that point ? Perhaps up until the moment before the unveiling he was seen as their guru, and through out the film he was telling his followers that you are the guru of yourself as you don’t need me or a guru. It was almost he was telling you something that is true and for a moment you felt that way , but not enough to believe in to your self guru.
    And on the other hand the 10 ppl that stayed in contact with him they feel the same about Kumaré with or without the guru outfit are the one true to themselves. That I’m glad that that is the majority out of 15 people.
    Very worth watching !!
    I myself have always been skeptical about gurus.

    I am conflicted by this movie. I think there is definately something sinister about exploiting peoples faith....no matter what or who they believe in and he was able to have a following and he made money off of them. I did like the message that Kumare delivered, you are your own Guru...he never lied, but that is the teaching that people most need to learn, we are mirrors for each other....we should treat each other with kindness and compassion...what a great movie.

      I think there is something sinister about placing positive value on faith. Goodwill has great social value, but faith readies people for exploitation.

    From my point of view Vikram has proved his own concept to himself...
    Now the guy who showed the fake role of guru truly enjoys the role of castigator and movie maker...what a victory!:))) Isn't that..."оlala!"?
    I enjoyed the movie.

    The concept was amazing and something I've thought of doing myself but as every truthful intention especially an intention to uproot something as ingrained as religion, people were going to get hurt (emotionally).... and thats been the only downside to this exposing social experiment has to show us. but then again I quite like it and I looking forward to watching it.

    This movie was great! I feel bad for the believers in Sri Kumare, however the point had to be made.
    Meditation is fantastic, but once you associate magic rocks and magic prayers and such, it becomes nonsense. The meditation works, everything else is superfluous. (Examples, special meditation clothing.. altars.. symbols)

      Your still stuck in the mind, in knowing. Who is the one who needs to know? The knower? And what is the awareness that just watches, that is.......that doesn't touch duelity.

    • @ClaudiaDCD
      @ClaudiaDCD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Evan Philippe de Rothschild Spiritual placebo effect works, so why not use it. Meditation and its real effects are much less placebo but I think you missed his whole presentation of how the symbols work. They work, so why not use them, with full knowledge that it is a mere focus point for a changing of the spirit, the true goal.

    • @angrysam5361
      @angrysam5361 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its a weird thing - I enjoyed the movie - although have reservations about how he chose to deceive people for his own gain to make it.
      I enjoyed it because there is a lot of BS in spirituality which people get caught up in and focus on. It distracts from what is really important and what spirituality is meant to be about. As the Buddhists say the practices and rituals are meant to be "fingers pointing to the moon" and people tend to get obsessed with the finger and forget its true intention.
      Then secondly because he ended up touching on what real spirituality is meant to be about. Love, kindness, compassion, helping others - even if it was done with ulterior motives - you began to see the effect it had not only on the people he helped but on "Kumare" himself. They say meditation has the power to transform and it does ..... but helping others is the real meditation. Practicing love, kindness, compassion, helping others - this is where the real spiritual magic happens. This is where the real transformation begins to happen.
      The end goal is to Meditate like Christ did - not sitting on a yoga mat but by walking in the streets and helping others. If a method or tool helps you to reach that space - then it is valid and applicable.

    I'll say it again. Actually, I'll let the producer say it again. When asked about the releases the participants had to sign in order for them to be legally exploited on film and for profit, the producer responded, "We had ROCK SOLID releases." No releases, no story. End of story.

    What is best, knowing it all to be BS and be unhappy, or believe in teapots, spaghetti monsters or Kumares and be happy. I do enjoy exposure, especially to all the selfproclaimed prophets or evangelists who with no shame would steal the last dollar out of suffering person... in order for them to complete their work (ofc in high style... god wants them to travel in Roll Royce and helicopters - god is great)...... but I still can't shake the feeling of comfort they actually offer their duped fans

    Thank you Vikram!
    It shows how naive people are, and it extends to ALL religions.
    ALL religions are crap, made-up mostly by men, mostly for women, offering false consolation - that's why it is catchy with the more susceptible minds.
    It includes christianity, islam, and everything else I examined. It is all false.
    I do not know if there is god, and nobody else does either.

    • @ClaudiaDCD
      @ClaudiaDCD 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      AndyH To remind yourself that no one really knows is def a theme of his. But also, at the end of the documentary and with this speech's theme of spiritual placebo effect, he also pointed out that the false consolation and comfort is not false. What is comfort but just the state of mind that we are in. We dont know ever if the future will be okay or horrible, so comfort will always be false, but also necessary to survival. Science has taught us stress can ravage the body. Why not use the placebo to reduce that?

    So someone wishes to mock belief systems....and they find Hinduism (an easy scape goat). Agreed there are fake gurus, fake religions, fake belief systems. I believe even fake stuff plays a role in evolution of consciousness. It elevates consciousness to a degree even if for a transient time. People believe it is good and they start acting good, even if it is for a brief period. That is all they could manage in their current life....maybe they will improve on this in their next lifetime.....that is only if you believe in reincarnation.

    I think you missed the point of his movie, and it's sort of ridiculous to say EVERY religion started by someone pretending to be a guru; in case you weren't paying attention he started to become a real guru with an actual teaching found throughout the world. The problem was he had lied to get there rather than done the work.... and he hurt some people to do it.

  • @OldItalia

    You've been duped by a filmmaker. There is NOTHING wrong with projecting love and compassion onto another human being. It's a natural, psychological process. Exploiting this process is evil... Which is exactly what Vikram Ghandhi did.
