- Today we are guests of the photographer Scott Schuman. The New Yorker has been successfully publishing his photographs on his blog for years under the name 'The Sartorialist'. Recently moved to Italy, he tells us about his new life in Milan.
Scott Schuman made a name for himself as a street photographer. His passion for photographing a wide variety of people and capturing the magic of the unstaged makes his photographs very special.
With their move from New York to Milan, Scott and his wife Jenny Walton had to grapple with the question of which furnishings should continue to accompany them. Above all, Scott's old books and his beloved pictures by other well-known photographers had to move with him.
When setting up, the photographer paid attention to modern furniture with a simple design. Because these should correspond to his understanding of aesthetics, just as with Scott Schuman's photographs. There are therefore many organic shapes and natural colors in the Milan apartment.
The move to Italy's fashion metropolis was a very conscious decision for the couple. Because this is where they fell in love with each other and the city still exudes a lot of magic for them today. For Scott himself, it doesn't matter where he works from. Because whether in Milan or New York - for the photographer it's always about capturing a unique moment and capturing it for eternity.

Das Wohnzimmer ist schon toll. Leider wirkt das Video für mich persönlich eher wie eine Werbung für ihn als Fotograf und sie als Designerin.

Wieso betitelt man ein solches Video als „roomtour“? Ich kann es nicht nachvollziehen…wie wohnt er denn nun? Ich habe keine Vorstellung, weil man nur einen kurzen Einblick in sein Wohnzimmer hatte.

Das ist wieder so ein Video, in dem man nur den Menschen vorstellt und wo man von der Wohnung so gut wie nichts sieht. Was soll das? Versteckte Werbung? Versteckte Kooperationen? Man hat nichts gesehen außer etwas vom Wohnzimmer und einen Esstisch. Ich bin enttäuscht
Es tut uns sehr leid, dass das Video nicht deinen Erwartungen entsprochen hat
Sehr interessante und inspirierende Personen! Aber ja, ich hätte auch gerne etwas mehr über ihren perönlichen Stil und die Wahl und Komposition der Möbel erfahren :/

Die Roomtour kommt zwar ein bisschen zu kurz, aber ich liebe das Video, ich folge ihm seit Beginn seiner Karriere und bin ein großer "Fan"!

Gefällt mir leider auch nicht, weil man eigentlich nichts von der Wohnung sieht. Aber die persönliche Vorstellung wäre super wenn dann noch zusätzlich mehr von der Wohnung kommt. Aber ich kann auch verstehen, dass man halt nur das zeigen kann, was die Bewohner erlauben. Und ich schätze viel mehr als Bad, Schlafzimmer und vielleicht Büro oder so hätte es in einer City Wohnung in Mailand auch gar nicht gegeben
