- Alan Partridge performs a medley of Abba songs with Singing sensation Gina Langland.
Taken from the classic comedy Knowing Me Knowing You (1994) which saw Steve Coogan’s bumbling sports anchor character from The Day Today (1994) get a shot at his own “chat show.”
This is a channel from BBC Studios who help fund new BBC programmes. Service information and feedback: www.bbcstudios...
Quality television. Can't believe they didn't give him a second series, the shits.
I see what you did there... ;)
SMELL THE CHEESE
I think it was fair. Did he not shoot somebody dead.
@@jacobblumberg6299SMELL MY CHEESE
What can I say, except that there's something very short sighted about a producer that won't even pick up a golden idea like "Monkey Tennis"?
What’s so good here is that it’s never Steve Coogan singing as himself. Every inflection stays in character as Alan.
Don’t lose sight of the great Rebecca Front also doing that!
@@efs120imo, one of the most naturally beautiful women to grace the earth
@@54spatulaoh yeah 👍🏼
Best Abba medley I've heard since Gary Wilmots wedding.
Harmonisation 10 on 10
God that's good. Can I shake your hand again?
But what a cooked breakfast! He insisted on it!
👏👏👏👏
Bet you could hear two of those a day, but you'd probably be dead.
Unbelievable talent displayed by both Steve and Rebecca. The comic timing is exquisite.
These two, Patrick Marber, Chris Morris and the other two (sorry I’ve forgotten their names lol) were and incredible comedy group
I can’t listen to voulez-vous without going
a-HA! in my head
And I can't help but do the Take A Chance On Me backing vocals!
😂
This might be the greatest moment of TV ever
Those aren't your words.... They're the words of Top Gear magazine.
@@Al-kk4pf Was under the impression that it was Shakin' Stevens who'd said that
2:49 She checked the time on his watch. I've never noticed that before as I am usually focused on Alan 100%.
Holy moly. Must've watched this dozens of times over the years. Never saw it. Good spot.
Peter Steman I'm usually focused 100% on Rebecca.
Wow too, watched this many times and never saw it
Holy flip man. I've watched this probably at least 25 times and never noticed that!
It sounds like only 1 person in the audience noticed that as well haha
This chat show series was absolute genius.
That was liquid singing, lovely stuff
Just love the panicked look on his face at the 3:00 mark when he realises he's not going to reach those final notes.
I always try to imagine how it felt for Rebecca to have Alan shouting those lines at her face lol.
@@modern2retro2modern2retro2 his breath smelled like gas apparently
Its at this point where you realise the whole 3 minutes had to be in the correct key to get him to this point...
Fair play to Alec, he really gives it his all here.
"It's Alan!"
@@modern2retro2modern2retro2 Alan! Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan!!
"see ya Colin"
I had never noticed her checking his watch at 2:49 before, brilliant 🤣
This could be the best three minutes of Television ever written and performed...
Is that Nicola Murray, Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Citizenship?
SAM PREPARE MY HORSE, I RIDE, TO DOSAC
from bean to cup
Fire up the turbo chargers, set the phasers to equality. It’s Murray time!
For the moment
Rebecca Front yes 😊
Liquid televison
Æon Flux?
Thrikkkkerrrr
And another!
This is the highlight of the 20th Century.
Rebecca Front can really carry a tune!
She's gorgeous.
And she ended up being chased by a pork chop
She is amazing
@@Stratoszero She was. She's a po faced lefty champagne socialist now.
I watched Mamma Mia 2 and enjoyed it but I just wished Steve Coogan and Rebecca Front could have come on at the end. This is ,for my money, the best Abba medley ever.
Yak coogan wouldn’t touch that shite.
1:36 The way Alan puts his whole body into that Mama Mia line is hilarious.
I love this...in a way
Absolutely hilarious. This series and I'm Alan Partridge series 1 in the motel were genius.
The best medley ever made. Not my words ...
The words of Shakin Stevens.
🤣🤣Alan singing in her face - fantastic.
Its the "Mamma Mia, here I go again" that gets me
Something just keeps bringing me back here
WITHOUT A SONG! OR A DANCE! WHAT ARE WE? SO! I! SAY! - thank you for the music...
#LovelyStuff
Brilliant show, unbelievable not to have infinite series
Infinite Alan Partridge? Marvellous thought!
Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight. Genius how they got Alan to do that instead of Gina.
Love AP!!!!!
SO I SAY thank you for the music
One of the all time great TV moments
How she kept a straight face when he was yelling right in her face I do not know
I love the way he jumps down from the chair😂
Steve made this adorable
I love all things Partridge.
Underrated actress
And NOT unattractive
I cried the first time I watched this, couldn't stop laughing lol.
Surely AP’s greatest moment. I’m off to listen to ABBA Gold...
Still the best moment from KMKUWAP
I just love the aggression at the end when he says thank you for the music.
Lovely stuff
Not your words, the words of Shakin' Stevens!
When he switches octaves after shouting in her face! hahahahaha That bit gets me every time. God this clip is funny!!!!!
I love the tinges of agression in Rebecca's vocals during Voluez-Vouz.
Oh we need tnis comedy again on our screens .
"Lovely stuff!"
-Shakin' Stevens
He likes American singers now
Supreme Alan, the welcome tonic for dark times (despite no visible blazer badge). Cognoscens me, cognoscens te!
She is a good singer..all round good entertainer!
She is bang on!
And now a slapper with a face that could stop a clock.@@gaelleonard8830
I wish Front had played the travel tavern manager in 'I'm Alan Partridge'. She is fantastic.
Instead of the lovely Susan? No way!
@@jj9749 You mean R2D2? Tea or coffee, tea or coffee
What a great Alec moment
That was awesome! Not my words the words of Shakin Stevens
Classic Partridge. mint.
I can't listen to ABBA without thinking of this
Rebecca Front has a great voice
this is a genuinly a good song, Coogan gots the pipes for it
why all the begging for an ABBA reunion when you have this?
Classic comedy gone and forgotten
@3:03 Incredible how Rebecca Front didn't crack up laughing.
She probably did in rehearsals!
That was a great medley actually
So funny to see Alan checking out Rebecca's Front at 2:35
All her segments are intact
That girl is a great singer what a voice very surprised
My favourite piece of comedy of all time. It's perfect.
Is this the only time a segment on KMKYWAP went off without a hitch for Alan? No wonder he looks delighted during it.
I'm always keen to avoid the 'comedy isn't what it used to be- trap but for me nothing will surpass the quality of this era AP. So brilliant in so many ways.
Two classy performers.
Mamma Mia! Such a soft voice!
This is peak Partridge.
Brillaint
He was great as Alan Partridge
All in only one take as well. Brilliant.
3:12 Although this is meant to be comically awful, I genuinely liked the way they harmonised the "Aaaa-haaa" at the end of the song
That was the only non-Abba part, since it was taken from Summer nights from Grease
Top tier comedy is when he screams Mamma Mia
Aaaahhhha
She is really good - and so is he, but in a different way!
The Les Dawson piano effect, you've got to be really good to look so bad. 😂
very powerful stuff from alan. Can not believe they cancelled this show after just one series
He shot a man dead
Forbes Mcallister
You had me at Rebecca Front.
(and back)
This is a triumph! - I wonder if any of the 4 members of ABBA have ever seen this?
Probably. He did travel to Stockholm after all to negotiate in person with Björn and Benny for the rights to say a-ha
@@DackxJanielsDid he need to get permission from A Ha?
God u wid forget how many classics abba actually had
Lineker-esque. And another!
More Richard Madeley
Thriker!!!!!
Amazing talent!
That was text book!
Liquid football!
That lady stole the show Wonderful voice
Nice boobs
Rebecca Front is amazing!
I'd love to have seen the outtakes for this segment, lol
Best duet we heard since hearing oasis returning 😂
Golden buzzer worthy 👍🏼🎊
Marvellous
Hilarious
lovely stuff
How does she keep a straight face!
Rebecca Front is marvellous here, and so is Steve Coogan - but in a different way altogether.
Brilliant. TC4, BBC Television Centre.
The magnificent Rebecca Front x
Lovely Stuff
This more emotional ,than an girl's journal! -really¡
Gracho gracho I
Coogan is actually a passable singer of course, as Tony Ferrino proved, but like Les Dawson and his piano-playing, you need to be good to look bad.
Like Meryl Streep in Florence Foster Jenkins.
That was good
Gina Langland. The thinking man's Jessie J
Alan Partridge, the non thinking man's Elton Wellsby.
"In off the pink" level of performance.
That was amazing , anyway...
I'm off to Longstanton spice museum
This is quite literally why Logie Baird invented television
All jokes aside Rebecca Front’s singing is actually quite good!
