I really love fuji's minimalistic approach for an everyday carry cam and I was sad about the discontinuation of the XE line. If they could only add an IBIS on their 5th gen. Fujifilm, please.
Let's hope there is a 5th gen.
I suspect XE will be a low priority for a fifth gen. Which is sad. It's really the best size to balance a small prime and only needs minor revisions for a better experience.
True. I hope they release an X-E5 but the chance seems slim.
The X-E has been usually the last one to get updated which is actually very fine for me as they generally have the more "complete" firmware of the generation just like how the X-E4 has better firmware than the X100V IMO.
I just got my X-E4 brand name and as an owner of X-T5, XS-20 and X100V, I unexpectedly like the X-E4 the most in my hand. The form factor is just right

Absolutely LOVE my XE4, was one of the last ones produced before they discontinued it so very lucky I got it, really hope they release a xe5, would buy for sure 👍🏼 👌🏼
Bought the X-E4 nearly 2 years ago and I love it. With a couple of compact primes or the 18-55 or the 27 pancake it makes a very portable piece of kit with top image quality.
In the UK MPB are selling like new examples body only for £1049.00.
That is good price compared to other second hand markets.
I use my X-E4 as a second camera for events, alongside my X-T5. Perfect as people are less aware of you for candid shots so you can capture more 'genuine' moments. I hope they release an X-E5 as this is my favourite Fuji camera line, and the X-E4 is the camera I always use for day to day photography. I just feel more inspired and creative when using it.

new models coming out early next year, fujifilm wont abondon these models due its popularity and usage! i expect e5 to have grip , new processor , most likely same sensor trans 4
An X-E5 with the new processor would be nice.
I've pre-ordered this camera before It was launched. It's one of my favorite camera ever since! Very compact to carry around. I feel so lucky, that I decided to buy it that time.

I like what they did with the s-20: they kept the trans 4 sensor but mated it to the new v5 chip.

I sold my X-E4 some weeks ago to mpb for more than I paid for it two years ago. And they resell it for an insane price! I liked my X-E4 but I did not love it. Now I replaced it with an X-T30II wich is a much better (and much cheaper) companion to my X-T5. I would never buy an used X-E4 for about 1300€ which is the price on mpb...
Thanks for giving the X-E line some love! The X-E2 was my first Fujifilm ILC camera and I still regret selling it.I would love to see an X-E5.

Also loved that the flash could be tilted straight up. Alas, this was lost in subsequent models.

I think it's a pity that they're discontinuing the X-E4 without a replacement.
My main regret is not buying the X-E2 instead of the XT-20 back in 2017 - the shop didn't have a kit lens bundle for the X-E2 at the time and it would cost much more to buy them separately.
This was an impulse purchase as I was on a work trip to Thailand and the XT-20 w/ XF 18-55 bundle was 30% less than I could get back home (and I could also claw back the VAT/ GST as a tourist on top of that).
The RF style would have worked much better for me as I'm a left master eye and I've to disable the touch focus on my XT-20 and can't use the thumb-grip because my nose and face get in the way.
Further, the RF style is more stealth and better for general street or urban photography shoots.
Ideally, I'd like to have a dumbed down X-Pro body as an X-E camera - similar body shape with a sloped or recessed dial top and a small grip on the front. No requirements for a hybrid optical/ EVF, just an EVF would do. Neither would there be a need for the 2nd LCD showing the film simulation or the materials (Titanium).
Especially with the 27mm pancake lens options these days, it would be a great EDC camera and work great for events or theatre performances too since you can just switch to ES without shutter sound.

Just got X-T30 II and took it out for a photo walk yesterday. From the results, I was 100% satisfied with JPG versions and I did not have need to use the RAW files for any of my pics. Whatever had to be fixed, could be done in JPG. White balance was not corrected in any of the photos which I really enjoy since my previous Canon camera could not get the WB right.

how does the XE4 compare to the XE2, with film simulations? is there a noticeable difference?
The X-E4 has more film simulations but I like the colours more on the X-E2.
I’ve had my XT-20 since 2017 . I’ve used it strictly for travel and street photography. It’s still a great little camera. However lately I’ve felt the itch for a change. I’m also getting a bit more into portrait photography lately. I am debating if I should upgrade to a xt5 and then also pick up an older xe2 for a daily camera. Or can the xt5 be small enough to also be a daily carry camera ? Or shoul I switch to an Xe4 and maybe add another lens to the collection and just use that as my only cam. I’m hoping someone can sway me in a direction 😂.
The X-T5 is a great camera and if you use it with a 27mm f2.8 or a 23mm f2 it can be quite portable.

What would be a good alternative as a smaller camera for street photography and as a backup camera next to an X-T5 for years of travelling? Due to the unavailability of the X-E4, simply a second X-T5 and that's it? Or would the X-S20 be better suited for this purpose? If I wait for an X-E5, I'll probably be without a second camera for years. I don't own anything from Fuji yet and I'm coming from an old Canon DSLR system.
Xt30 II should have been a nice back up. Only if they added an ibis like the xs10 and 20.

XS-20 is a good backup for X-T5
The X-S10 and X-S20 are good options for a second body.
I would be happy to swap my X-T5 with X-E5.
The parts problem is still a major problem for fujifilm and their method of throwing things at the wall to see what sticks proved the x100 line is worthy of continuing not the xe.

Need hands stronger than woman's.
It was a bit too small. The reason I ultimately didn't buy it. Not comfortable to hold.
Get the Fuji grip and you may change your mind
I agree. The grip makes a huge difference but it depends which lens you want to use. I have the x-e4 and the x-pro3 and can’t get myself to sell the x-e4 even though I can make more than I paid for it.
You can always add a grip.
