    Awesome videos , any chance you can talk about infielder throwing mentality during the game ? I have no problems in the practice , but become nervous and too cautious about losing controls or even hitting the runners which make my throwing all over the place , any tips would be much appreciated

    • @Dave-lg5oz
      @Dave-lg5oz ปีที่แล้ว

      I was the same. Key is to stay calm take it one step at a time, dont rush it more then needed, make the catch, set your feet and grip, aim at there chest. Make it feel routine in the game. Also know when to hold it, bad grip, fast runner thats gunna beat it, never through it if theres no chance of making the play. Keep the forces on so you have more options for outs later in the inning

      I cant remember the brand of the one I have, but it's from Amazon - I think a 7x7 size. Just check the reviews there, they're all pretty similar, it looks like. search for "7x7 throwing net" and you'll find what you need.

    With the bigger slowpitch ball, do you recommend using all your fingers on the ball while throwing, to create backspin, or still just three?

    • @SnapSoftball

      I don’t have any experience but if it’s big enough, four fingers.

    The Pro step is a very good mechanics, it does well to shooting to 2nd base, but for going to home from outfield or to first, the best way is to correctly use the crow hop

    • @SnapSoftball
      @SnapSoftball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      every MLB outfielder uses the pro step exclusively these days to every base; these are the best outfielders in the world. Sorry, but the best way is not the crow hop.

      Mechanics evolve and change and circle back around in some cases.
      Crow hop will always be better in my opinion. When done properly it’s faster and allows more momentum into the throw

      its how the body works as a system. Watch my other, more in-depth videos on the topic, I explain it in in more detail. All high-level throwers in baseball and softball do this.

      sorry to be cavalier about it but there's really not much to discuss to the transition - it's a different object. you throw it basically the exact same way. it sounds like your short-distance throwing issues are just mental - a case of the yips, it sounds like.
