Snáď to zafunguje a nabudúce to už bude zase trochu lepšie :-)

Hi Robert, great vid! I'm considering buying a new PR7 for a RWT trip. Only 2 things I'm not sure: Reliability? How hard is finding parts/repairs if the bike breaks down in remote places? And 2nd: how does it perform on highways? Would you recommend it for a RTW? Thanks!

Hi Nico! I wrote quite a lot in comments to this video series, you can check it out. But in short, the PR7 is amazing off-road oriented machine. Reliability all comes down to regular maintenance. If know your way around the bike and you are okay to get your hands dirty, you are good. All the bearings, seals, screws are standardized and specification can be read from PR7 parts-list from AJP. The bike is very easy to work on, there is no electronics beside the fuel injection and couple patrs included (o2, TPS, fuel pump) and that is it. For the RTW trip take the spare ECU, voltage regulator, fuel pump, maybe injector and you are all set. Everything else you can buy everywhere. Maybe the front sprocket is a bit harder to get, but I believe can be ordered enywhere. All the usual stuff like brake pads, oil filter, chainset are compatible with common bikes (KTM, Husqvarna, etc).
That said, if you are kind of guy who expects to bring the bike to a dealer and gets a coffee while waiting for it it might not be just for you, because the network is not that big yet.
Performance on the highway is very subjective. It is offroad oriented bike. I believe everyone who bought it bought it because of that. I know I can throw the bike into the hardest possible stuff and still have smile on my face. I can ride highway on any bike imaginable. If you are coming from offroad bikes you will be happy. If you are coming from powerfull street bikes, you might not be. I don't know. It's about priorities I guess :-) There is a guy who did RTW already with al least 3 more that I know of who wanted to start this year, but you can imagine that they didn't :-)

@@erbe-robo Thanks a ton for the response. I'm new to biking. I've ridden bike in Asia during trips, but that was on rentals. So I've never worked on my own bike. I'll try and learn as much as possible before the start of the trip but I believe I should be going with the most reliable bike possible and one that can be worked on easily all over the world. That's why I think I'll be choosing a Honda. (A CB500X RR)
Although that damn PR7 looks so so good.

@@nl7002 Honda is a solid choice, although very, very different to PR7.If you are not looking for offroad capabilities and thus you will be riding the most on highways you will find better suited bikes than the PR7 for RTW, that is for sure. Enjoy the trip!

@@erbe-robo Thanks for the feedback! For now the CB500x Rally Raid is my first choice, I do think it does have off road capabilities although not as great as a PR7 for sure. But enough I think for what I have in mind. Cheers!

Paradne video. Uprimne troska zavidim. Snad sa mi tiez podari nieco take, ideal dve motorky.
