In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Nish was all warmth, Aisling was weirdly confusing yet charming, Mark was simply awkward like a gangly giraffe trying to mount its mate, and the other two are just straight up serial killers.

Alex is so remarkable in keeping a straight face amidst the mayhem, and that makes it so much better when he does smile while fighting back laughter.
Gotta say though, Sally nearly broke my dude. Even he just couldn't keep it in when she just smashed that cake into his armpit.
I find it hilarious that Alex & Mark had the most awkward cuddle of all even though they've been close friends for 20 years.

Alex is definitely quite tall himself, although on the other hand Sally Phillips and Bob Mortimer and quite short. Pretty sure Bob is 170cm (5’7) or so

This is by far my favorite task!
Sally seems like the person that would’ve normally given the nicest cuddle, so it feels “Taskmaster-Appropriate” that hers was basically a torture session.
I absolutely love how much fun Sally had throughout the whole series.
I love how Sally just leaves Alex with a sadistic smile on her face, whilst Aisling rather wants to leave, than to hug Alex😂

I sincerely find this show to be completely and wonderfully strange and hilarious and it makes me so sad that the people I try to share it with cannot be arsed. Thank you TM team for bringing me so much joy in this dark and dismal world. You make me feel less alone.

I guess it's because before watching this show you've watched other British panel shows, you need that sort of background to really enjoy this one. I'm here after watching 8 out 10 cats does countdown, so I know many of the contestants which make it even funnier

Usually when you start a new series, it takes a few episodes or tasks to get used to the new cast...
This was their first task and I immediately fell in love with them
Sally just enjoying the task so much and having so much fun gives me life.
I don't know much about Sally Phillips, but this task and the water cooler moment had me in tears.

Aisling's idea is the funniest and most charming thing I've seen in centuries. I want a whole show with that cuddle robot and that stupidly charming rhyming and the music and the bubbles xD
