I'll admit, Jeff is such a terrible creepypasta that it's fun to make fun of him. When I'm done with my main RPG Maker project, I'm going to parody a Jeff the Killer game.

That's a good thing by the way, because on various occasions it made me realize just how many indie horror games used the same few kinds of fonts over and over again.
+That One Same! I never really noticed until John pointed them out, but now I look for it all the time. Oh my goodness, when I saw Layers of Fear used the Face Your Fears font, I wanted to scream. I've seen it in so many bad indie horror games (not saying it made Layers of Fear a bad game, but I wish they had gone with a different font, or at least hand lettered it!). I even showed my Typography professor and she couldn't stand it.
I study animation/graphics in college and it annoys me to see overused fonts too,like John I can name a lot of them when I see them. At least no one has used bleeding Cowboys in a long time..
I feel you. I study Studio Art/Graphic Design and Video Game Design at college. So, it almost hurts to see stuff like that. I think the worst part about it happening in such a great looking game like Layers of Fear is that I understood why they used it. They wanted to go for the effect that the main character was painting the words around the house/the words were painted by something around the house. The problem is that it ended up looking like something they just typed an pasted onto the wall texture because it was very flat and letters looked exactly the same. I was such a minor thing, but my friends and I couldn't help but point it out every single time we saw it while playing. Hand letting can go a long way sometimes and I think it would have helped Layers of Fear immensely, rather than going for a font that I've seen in way too many indie horror games.
Layers of Fear did a lot of disappointing things like that. Not as in just the really obviously typed text on the walls and such, but as in it just kind of scummed to "average horror game syndrome" at the end. It was such a tragedy too, because it had SO MUCH potential...
I agree, by the end, my friends and I were like "okay come on, we get it" especially during the part where you had to find the checker pieces? It was an interesting sequence gameplay wise, but it felt pointless other than to tack on an extra amount of time to the gameplay. I think it suffered a bit in my eyes because it tried (at least it seemed to me) to be a lot like PT. I know PT was fantastic and I still mourn it, but horror games need to work towards being their own thing, rather than going "that's cool, let's just do that." Plus, I have some issues with it heading into jumpscare territory. It had great atmosphere the entire time, but after awhile it was very predictable (which may be why we managed to never die?).
After finding how seedy this hotel is, it's blindingly obvious why the parents got their daughter her own room... XD May Jeff the Killer games keep getting made forever... amen...

For five minutes straight I was trying to remember what they stole this Opening Credits music from, and I finally remember. First off - no, it's nothing that will get weirdly Copyright claimed, Harshly. But the music in there is from the Serial Experiments Lain soundtrack, which is just a hilarious kicker to me. Lain was one of the deepest, most introspective, weird and strange outlying character studies into the dangers of humanity ever more losing themselves in technology and trying to connect everything, and the meaning of life and death and even reality because of it. Picking up on how reality can get distorted in a world where technology will be able to make the virtual world actually interfere with a real one, as if the world was a giant human brain. A show that begins with someone laughing maniacally about the concept of "current day, current time" at the beginning of every single episode of this short animated 90s Japan-made show. And now the music is in the opening of a Jeff The Killer game that features the line "This books are filled with sexual and pornographic books" and Kim Kardashian. Oh, Jeff The Killer fanbase, you're wonderful.

I recently replayed Ib and realized that I recognized some of the music in this. Considering "Kouri" is credited for the music, I doubt that's a coincidence. The problem? In the game and the text file that comes with Ib when you download it, Kouri specifically states that no one use their original music or assets without permission. And I somehow highly doubt these people got permission.

I'm not sure which game came first but I'm pretty sure it was Desert Nightmare that was created first, but anyway, the dialogue in the beginning concerning the party was from the intro of Desert Nightmare. The protagonist's name was Sandra and she was going to a relative's house with her parents and they stopped at a gas station. When they stopped, that's when she told her parents she was missing "the party of the year".

I did a good job tolerating this game. But I was absolutely convinced the developers of this game intentionally made this game a fucking joke when 25:55 happened.
Oh my gosh. I didn't know how this one could top Isolation, but it did. It's so amazing for all the wrong reasons. I almost died laughing at the normal ending. The empty bed in the true ending was pretty good too. Thanks a ton for the laughs! As a side note, I never imagined you would find a protagonist dumber than the one in Theresia. That's a pretty fun horror game, but holy heck. If you examine a knife in it that has impaled a body, she grabs it... BY THE BLADE. SOMEHOW. You have to use PLIERS to get it without hurting yourself. Like, that is a whole new level of dumb. ...A whole level that got surpassed by dying by picking up a flipping glass shard. It's both enraging and hysterical to see things like this.

I did a good job tolerating this game. But I was absolutely convinced the developers of this game intentionally made this game a fucking joke when 25:55 happened.
Honestly I think the best explanation must be English wasn't the developers first language. Any other explanation makes to little sense.

Oh my gosh. I didn't know how this one could top Isolation, but it did. It's so amazing for all the wrong reasons. I almost died laughing at the normal ending. The empty bed in the true ending was pretty good too. Thanks a ton for the laughs!
As a side note, I never imagined you would find a protagonist dumber than the one in Theresia. That's a pretty fun horror game, but holy heck. If you examine a knife in it that has impaled a body, she grabs it... BY THE BLADE. SOMEHOW. You have to use PLIERS to get it without hurting yourself. Like, that is a whole new level of dumb. ...A whole level that got surpassed by dying by picking up a flipping glass shard. It's both enraging and hysterical to see things like this.
