528 Hz Singing bowl 13 minute sound meditation with an antique Himalayan Mani bowl

  • 528 Hz Singing bowl sound meditation. This uses an old Himalayan singing bowl known as a Mani bowl and this type of bowl is also known as an Elephant Bowl because the shape resembles an elephant's foot. The word 'mani' means jewel in sanskit and they are indeed jewel like with their sound which is clear and pure. "They originate in Baharampur in India and are usually louder than the average bowl" Frank Perry.

    Guidelines for your Meditation
    Find a safe and comfortable place to sit and listen to the sounds using headphones or good quality speakers.
    Sit in a position that feels good for you, straighten your back and feel your body supported by the chair, the floor
    Rest your hands palm up on your knees, with your forefinger and thumb touching, while the other three fingers are open
    When ready close your eyes
    Take a few deep breaths noticing how your body naturally rises and falls with the inhale and exhale, feel that familiar rhythm of the body moving as you breathe in and out
    If you've been feeling anxious try extending the out breath so you breathe in for the count of 4, hold for the count of 2 and then breathe out for the count of 7 and do this again three times and return your normal way of breathing.
    Now you've begun to feel more relaxed with your breathing turn your attention to the sounds and listen to the different harmonics
    If for any reason you become distracted by thoughts or a sound from outside then focus again on your body breathing, feel the familiar rise and fall of your body and when you feel settled return your attention to the sound of the bowl
    When the meditation is finished take a moment to focus on how you are feeling, notice any thoughts, how your body feels and then gradually bring some movement back into your body perhaps rubbing your hands gently together, having a stretch by lifting your arms above your head, do whatever you need to be fully back in your space - drink some water
    For a short meditation you may also listen to a 5 minute clip of this medittion at he frequency of 2-3x per day.

    Lots of fake videos with frequencies that are not 528Hz, this one actually hits the frequency

    • @sound-and-silence
      @sound-and-silence  3 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      Thank you for listening, taking time to check the frequency and then to comment.
      We've been playing / working with sound for quite some years now and we decided to make these videos with bowls of these frequencies in response to a lot of videos that state a sound is a particular frequency and they aren't and actually that say the sound of certain frequencies are healing for different parts of the body which is very misleading the sounds created by the gongs and bowls and other instruments can help someone reach quite a deep state of relaxation and its being in such a relaxed state which is beneficial.
      Bowls are chosen for how they sound and how they resonate with us, if you listen carefully to singing bowls they often have two or three or maybe more frequencies in one bowl (himalayan bowls in particular) - one of those frequencies will be the dominant one. The sounds will resonate at different speeds that's why a bowl that resonates slowly will have the effect of relaxing a person very quickly, helping them to alter brain wave state from beta to alpha and deta - feeling somewhere between awake and asleep, dream like. Another bowl may resonate at a faster frequency and help a person to feel energised. Another bowl may have a combination of slow and fast frequencies.
      Best wishes - Pam and Jurek

    • @sound-and-silence
      @sound-and-silence  2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Thank you and thank you for taking time to comment. It is indeed 528 hz - we check the frequencies of all our bowls and put labels inside them so we know as soon as we look at a bowl what it is and then usually what other bowls will sound like when played together. We can make a longer video with the bowl and have put it on the list of videos we want to make - we have been a little slower this year at creating and uploading videos as we needed some time to adjust to a family bereavement and shortly afterwards returning to work but are now finding our rhthym in life. If you subscribe to the channel and click on the notification bell you will get an alert that we've uploaded a new video

      First of all, please accept my sincere condolence for your loss. Please take your time. Will look forward for the longer video of this 528Hz.
      Wanted to ask you couple of things:
      1. How does listening to 528 Hz impact us - our body and mind?
      2. Can I listen to the same video in loop for two rounds to have it for a 25 minute meditation session?

    • @sound-and-silence
      @sound-and-silence  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @palanichidambaram Thank you for your kind words - we have been taking time out when we felt we needed to - it's important isn't it.
      Jurek has been working on a couple of longer length videos of birdsong and decided last night it would be lovely to create a longer 528 Hz mani bowl video and have a break from the other video. We've posted a 33 minute video of the mani bowl today th-cam.com/video/eNmjWjpxUOM/w-d-xo.html here's the link.
      When listening to our videos be guided by your intuition and you may wish to choose different videos according to how you feel, sometimes you may only need to listen for five minutes and sometimes much longer - it also depends on how much time you actually have available. It is also useful to set an intention for what you would like to gain from the meditation when you begin.
      There are theories that the 528 Hz frequency is helpful with cell renewal and dna repair - these theories have not been scientifically tested. This is an area much discussed in sound healing forums.
      We think it unlikely that one particular frequency has the same effect on everyone. We do know from working with sound - both one to one with people and creating group sound meditations - there are different sounds / frequencies / combinations that seem to have a similar effect with most of the people we are working with.
      We also know sometimes two people that came together to one of our group sound meditations describe their experience completely differently - one person may say they found it relaxing and they think they fell asleep and another may say they felt they were in a particular place, very relaxed and energised at the same time.
      What we have found is that it is common for people to enter a deep state of relaxation and feel good after a sound session and we feel it is the state of relaxation that supports the body to work efficiently and promote well being in both body and mind. Relaxing the mind and counteracting stress allows the body to focus on its natural ability to heal more efficiently.
      We hope you enjoy the longer version - best wishes Pam and Jurek

      @@sound-and-silence Thank you so much for detailed explanation. I shall also listen to the 33 minutes video that you had shared.
      Another question that I have is which frequency of bowl sound is good to listen before going to sleep? Is there any specific frequency or can any frequency of sound bowl helps one in going to deep sleep state?

    • @sound-and-silence
      @sound-and-silence  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@palanichidambaram I believe it's whatever frequency works for you and would suggest you listen to different videos. We have made an eight hour video with I think it's three bowls and a rainstick to use for sleep - it's based on a combination of temple bell sounds that I found really soothing and I just like the sound of the rain stick - it goes on to a black screen after three minutes so you can play it without the screen light keeping you awake. I had tried other videos but found them a bit busy with sound - they were ok to go to sleep to but if I woke up and they were still playing I would find myself really listening to the sounds, engaging and keeping myself awake and because I'd already had a little sleep I wouldn't find it so easy to go back to sleep - I often play this one to help me get to sleep if I've had a very busy day.
      Hope this helps th-cam.com/video/iM2nnyx1NUw/w-d-xo.html

    The resonance factor is so well captured. It brought back memories of my visits to ancient big temples in India, where you ring the bell before you enter the sanctum sanctorum. The sound of bell reverberating through your body is well felt in such temples and I felt the same listening to this bowl.
    Is it just me, or is the sound on the left side and right side of bowl, sounds a bit different???

      NandhuK, I noticed that too. I had headphones on plus noises from others in the house. But that left to right fluctuation got annoying so I took the headphones off & have decided to listen to it again, another time without headphones. Feeling a bit nauseas now
