The chills when Super CO Power kicks in
Though, I'll be honest, the Dark theme for Super CO is much better. Just the badassness of it would keep your head-banging.
So I was not the only one who felt chills when that e-guitar streak kicked in, huh :D
@@Fusrodog Maybe, but it would also give this "Oh shit" moment when you hear during campaign.. Especially against Hawke.
Like Sturm
Ringtone potential
This is exactly how i remembered Nell when playing with my friends hahahahahahhaha. We even did the bouncing bullet joke xD-
Never played wargroove yet but those pups are so adorable... and deadly. But mostly adorable
The battle pups critical requirement is when the target they're aiming at is flanked by another battle pup unit, even though they can be frail in some circumstances. They're a good harassment unit though.
@@BlueEyes274 And they are great scouts in fog of war maps.
Arkenyx Emeriel in multiplayer
Everywhere else... well I guess those moments
Very excellent in hunting down infantry, which is about half of the units in wargroove.
Wait till you see Heavensong's dog unit.
2:36 respect to this man trying to fend off them while they escape, salute soldier 👍
First few minutes:
Well the War Groove gonna win again
*Super CO Power Lady Luck activate*
GOT BAMBOOZLED
Mercia, cherrystone commander:
Show me your commander!
Nell: I'm about to end this woman's whole careee
Thing of note
In Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, the CO DOES enter the battlefield by paying half the cost of the unit while on a base (The CO will inhabit that particular unit). DoR has different mechanics where the CO bonuses only apply in a range around the unit they inhabit and the range increases with more of their CO gauge. When they use their power, their bonus (and CO power if applicable) is applied to all of their units. CO Units also get a 20% buff in attack and defense on top of that.
It's this reason why Tabitha is feared in DoR because she gives units a 30% attack and defense buff but she has a range of 1 but this essentially gives the unit she inhabits a 50% buff in attack and defense, making that particular unit very powerful as well as giving her one of the most powerful CO Powers in the game (The power itself drops a 5 space wide 3 damage bomb on the enemies like Sturm) and gives her entire army the 30% buff.
Sadly, there hasn't been a new Advance Wars game since Days of Ruin.
Princess Luna I feel like these Advance War Groove animations are playing off of Advance Wars 1&2 mechanics, possibly Dual Strike’s as well. Advance Wars DoR changed A LOT of mechanics.
@@forrest6374 Most definitely. Days of Ruins is a completely different universe and story line.
Man I loved DoR
Except Tabitha's CO power can be cheesed by making high-cost units and driving them off the edge of the world away from your units. The AI prioritizes cost value over most other things. APC groups are fun. XD
@@SnivyTries Yes but then you're not building units for the front line.
Kinda makes me wanna see how the Advance Wars: Days of Ruin CO stuff would stack up. They have an ability to join their troops in battle and provide area buffs.
If anything. The wargroove commanders And DoR CO'a have a lot.in common. Difference id for a Co. Its their co buff that has a limited range wile their power affects everyone on the map. An inverse to the grooces of the commanders in wargroove
Theres a fan made game called comander wars it has this exact thing.
*_LUCK IS A SKILL_*
Nell playing Advance Wars is an actual representation of Mangs playing Fire Emblem.
Edit: 69 likes!
Luck is best stat!
I've only played Wragroove so far but from what it seems wargroove made the better decision of not making the commanders overpowered and removing any luck stats from the game.
@@splizzex iirc there was or maybe still is a mechanic that like removes or add 5% to hits or something?
I'll never let him play Nell though.
And just to fucking ruin everything, here's one more.
The while time I'm watching, I was eagerly waiting the CO power. Very pleased.Haha.
Though, now I wanna try out Wargroove...
My favorite video so far, seeing those Md tanks roll in really brought me back. Love that you're giving AW a little more credit with the music and menu style since it's the OG (besides super famicom wars).
Me thinking: Bring out the Neotanks.
Me later: Oh wow its Nell, ugh well... she looks... a bit full.
Me much later: I would like to see Jess, Lin from Days of Ruin.
Me now: Now where the heck is MrZsc surely he must be here somewhere, come out, come out wherever you are.
Me thinking:come on where are the mega tank?
Random crits are fair and balanced
actually it were conditional crits so jokes on you its like trolldier
... Never, ever, never, EVER, never let Mangs know... He'll surely back this as evidence to claim that Luck is SKILL... which by the way; its not.
i like how they are more friendly about it while in the first 2 episodes they were kinda just yelling at each other asking each other "WTF DID YOU DO?!?!?!?!"
I'm glad this series is not so one sided. Advance Wars has its perks! I love both games. Just wait till Wargroove sees tag powers!
Shame that would not have the same outcome with AW1 Max. His raw power would make him ruin most of that fight first engagement. Shesh. His what base 120-130 direct combat power is game breaking, never mind his CO power.
yeah there is always something satisfying at co rush with max.
Max's main weakness is maps with lots of obstacles, like mountains and rivers. he needs relatively open areas to make maximum use of his Direct fire units and if you can bottleneck him, you can take advantage of his -1 Range on indirect units, and whittle him down with rockets and arty. also go around his units and launch an attack on his HQ if possible.
Also Eagle because he can bomb most of Max's units back to the stone age with his double move CO power
@@havoc3742 agreed. on mountain map when indirect unit bottleneck one road. full power is the go-to to untie the nod. with Neotanks
Mechanic: Ha those dogs can't harm us in our tanks! What they gonna do? Nibble the coat?
*gets violently mauled*
Me: Cute and deadly, just how I like my pets
I'm surprised to hear music from Army Men RTS in the beginning. That was a nice nostalgia trip
Man, how I miss good ol' Advance Wars.
War groove has a comparable unit of almost every unit in advance wars except for their amazing neo tanks and of course the ultimate mega tank.
Is the Golem not the equivalent of the mega tank?
@@aureliodeprimus8018 it's the equivalent of a medium tank.
@@Destroyer.2000 Ah okay, my bad.
i'am playing advance wars just because of this series and its pretty good
"Nell, I'm dead" that got me
Favorite advance wars CO was Grit, can’t take massive losses if No one can reach you.
3 Sentences.
Eagle.
Lightning Strike.
*BOMBERS.*
It's good to see my old game's SUPER POWER again
Only played wargroove of the two and loved it. But Advance Wars looks interesting aswell
Well advancedwargroove is a fake game you can now dream of playing.
I love them both I love this series you're doing plz make more
It's only planned for 5 episodes regardless
You would think after all this time they wouldn’t underestimate each other but they do lol. In all seriousness, I love these animations and hope you keep doing them.
yay! finaly AW army win!!
That really solve my curiosity of Nell's CO power, I just don't know how to test it
wait is that a reference to the myth that the polish charged German tanks with lances
no, its just to show that the knights traveled more than 6 spaces of distance to initiate the critical damage condition.
Interesting animation 10/10.
Aw cute dogg-OH GOD!!
That moment you hear the power is charged and your like Time to get serious.
I want a game like this. Really really want it.
Everybody is gangsta until Lady Luck kicks in.
Well time to boot up the good ol Advance Wars games.
YOU MONSTER! the dogs don't die in wargroove, they just run away.
Just to point out they still turn to ghost in the overworld map
@@NCHProductions i had repressed that information...
Love this serie
Whoever made this should be the fucking president 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you ask me what I want to see, I want to see how air and sea army compare by mechenic
Well at least she wasn't up against Sturm...
The NEO tank would just roll over all of them or you get the SUPER HEAVY from that one game
Argh, I wanna see more! Lol that was great! ^o^
This is awsome
Will we see team c.o. powers in the next turn?
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
What is the music at 3:38 ?
the wargroove COs are more like days of ruins' COs
3:03 SLAP power XD
Nell I'm dead.
So how Is It, are there no super armor or there are Pierce attributes? (Skipping the critical hit for a sec) because those soldiers' thoughts about lances unable to pierce through their tanks are should have remained true, which Is kind of Inconsistent towards the video about how wrong they were >.< [like they just lacked Imagination and forgot this Is a videogame ;]
they have never encountered the unit before for AW side, so they aren't aware of the mechanics of the knight's critical hit.
and its a cartoon, not real life.
No se pero me mato de risa los perritos xD
Enemy Unit: Half across the globe.
Grit: "Let's do some target practice!"
If Grit superpower is active, he can actually hit people near him - sending a bullet around the whole globe.
Thats why grit is the best CO of advance. Its just do a gap in the map and let crumbles as you fire the shells of your artillery
if it was dual strike I can use Javier
he has resist about indirect attack
I will admit that grit is great. He is so good that I use him as my second Co in dual strike. However, the feeling I get from building an entire army with Colin is amazing. Also that feeling you get from killing a neo tank with your infantry unit.
Has one dollar.
Colin: "let's buy an army!"
Blue moon > ALL
Random crits are fair and balanced.
I'm not sure if all the Co's have crits, or just the handful that specifically say they do. (Nell, Flak, Jugger, etc)
BUT Wargroove has a random damage modifier that's kind of crit-like. you don't always do the damage predicted.
@@joshuaspromise You can set it so that it gives you the full potential damage range - it is admittedly annoying when you have a plan all set up but it fails because some enemy survived with 1% health and is blocking the movement of your troops to a more important location.
@@joshuaspromise Advance Wars has the same random damage modifier.
Its 5% random
@@vextea1503 As far as I am aware, both games have the same range of random damage. When Wargroove launched, it just was up to 10 % less, than shown, while in Advance Wars it showed the average damage.
Love these animations. It's fun seeing the mechanics compared along with how they might actually play out against each other
"Luck IS a Skill!"
Never let Mekkkkkkkkah or Mangs hear that XD
especially mekkah
"Luck is the best stat" - Mangs (unironicaly)
Ghast: Oh wow another crit! I just owned this kid
Never punished
Damn there's a lot of work put into these videos! Love how you used the exact sound effects from the game. Used to play AW a ton when i was younger! So this is really nostalgic for me.
Glad you enjoyed it!
She may have luck, but luck is nothing compared to the power of money! *Colin’s theme intensifies*
Pah, money is nothing when you can effectively move twice in one Turn!
Eagle's theme Intensifies
Movement doesn’t matter when you can be hit no matter where you’re at! ((Grit’s theme intensifies))
@@TheSpitfired Yes, but can you build 2 units in the same turn using said power?
Eagle's Theme turned up to 11?
@@havoc3742 image if you unit have low hp
*Andy title intense*
@sleepingkirbo not when every city spawns ground units and all units get 50% off when i purchase them. Hachi's theme intensifies
At this point, I just want two things:
1 - A crossover: advance wars VS wargroove
2 - Cutscenes directed and produced by NCH
I second that second motion!
SOMEONE!!! MAKE THAT HAPPEN!!!
same
"Nell, I'm dead."
So am I. Great turn!
That was a very LONG third turn... thank god the AW soldiers finally won one fight.
Or rather
Thank Neil? XD
Nell? Yeah, she's pretty snazzy.
@@MrJinglejanglejingle ha yes, I meant Nell ^^'
Sturm: hello Lady ;)
You're so talented m8
oh... thanks for the comment!
I'm just gona put a unit list comparison here and leave. Keep in mind that differences in the units from advance wars and war groove do exist but the core unit is still the same.
Wargroove:Advance Wars
Soldier : Infantry
Spearman : Mech
Wagon : APC
Dog : Recon
Archer : Artillery
Mage : Anti-air tank
Cavalry : Light tank
Ballistia : Anti-air missle launcher
Trebuchet : Rocket launcher
Golem : Medium tank
N/A : Neo tank
N/A : Mega tank
N/A : Piperunner
Balloon : Transport helicopter
Aeronaut : Battle helicopter
Sky rider : Fighter
Dragon : Bomber
N/A : Stealth fighter
Sparrow bomb : Black bomb
Barge : Lander
Amphibian : N/A
Turtle : Submarine
Harpoon ship : Cruiser
Warship : Battleship
N/A : Black boat
N/A : Carrier
Thief : N/A
Rifleman : N/A
Does the rifleman or thief fit anywhere on this list
The thief does not have a comparison at all. The rifleman would most likely be compared to a pipe runner however too many differences exist.
Ok
I always told people Nell is OP.
*Nell, I'm dead.*
Just for authenticity, i'd like to point out that dogs don't die in wargroove, the just run away to be good bois elsewhere ^^
Just to point out they still turn into ghost in the overworld map
@@NCHProductions Well apparently world map dogs are not as nice as combat dogs xD
Again, people who play wargroove with battle animation turn off will still see the dog unit turn to ghost... So it's considered a death regardless they ran away in the battle animation. If the devs made the overworld sprite run away too then yeah... But they still made the death animation
Throughout all these animations I was starting to detect a hint of bias, lol. But nice subverting it and having the orange army win in the end.
the establishing shot of orange Star HQ and the figure in the shadows playing the game is a huge clue already..
Haven’t played either games, and these videos have peaked my interest in the series
Same. Although I had interest in WarGroove before since I have an interest in pretty much every Tactic RPG.^^
Peaked your interest? Don't you mean piqued?
I liked Advanced Wars, didn't finish it though
2:24 I mean, it’s not a bad way to go.
Especially if the dog was like how it actually looks and is described in war groove.
*Random upload*
Why is this guy in my sub box?
*AdvanceWarGroove upload*
Oh right, I remember now.
Oh my god why isnt this a thing already i can already see the title screen Advanced Wars Remix: Groove Island Invasion
I really enjoy these, the cute style mixed with violence is fun!
2:14 They never fought a pack of zergling I can tell you that
Yeah zergling is smol but strong in horde
Zerg rush
Grit
Super Power
Rocket artillery
That's all I will say.
All DEAD XDDD
War flashbacks intensifies
Its like a gba nam flashback
Nell is secretly a killer card shark
Now that you got the commanders, it's time for the ultimate Bullshit that is Sturm with its always active unit booster and Meteor Strike
No. dear God no! Too many neo tanks died from that.
Combine that with Death Ray Installation.
*LAST MISSION FLASHBACK*
Wait until Wargroove feels *THE POWER OF MONEY*
or Meteor Strike
The Norturne of Woe or the shieldjump should beat it.
Samurai spirit
Super Snipe
Ex machina
Or hell maybe even a lightning strike in the right circumstances
Giants: one hit kill the spearmen
Giants with critical health: still kills the spearmen in one hit
Though I can imagine commanders like valder against COS like hawk
Nell, yeah she's good but is she a Colin? I don't think so.
Gee that one infantry unit sure looks stupid. Super CO power: The power of Money - Super tank destroyed.
Nell is still a great CO but I do find Sami's base Infantry strength and colin's overwhelming map domination to be superior.
Advance Wars 1-3: Our CO is away from the battle
Days of Ruin: Our CO rides a unit!
Wargroove: Our CO IS the unit
2/10 IGN, recon unit didn't do standard damage despite luck boost. XD Could you imagine, though, using Lady Luck and being so unlucky as a player that you roll garbage despite it? Oof. Also, OUCH, Turn 3 win by the Advance Wars crew. I think the Wargroove player needs to remember their CO is their loss condition too!
Also, I would definitely mention the win conditions of Wargroove vs Advance Wars. In Wargroove, killing the CO unit means instant game over, but in Advance Wars you can live as long as you have a unit (and I think the ability to produce them also keeps you alive?) and your HQ is intact.
...and, you know, Days of Ruin does allow COs to take the field and such...
either have an hq and at least one unit or an hq and a unit production bulding
Ok bois here's the plan, we gonna make one that's in the f&@(()# future! With awesome superweapons which bend reality like the Necrons in Warhammer!
i play warhammer! (the table top game no video games)
and also necrons have the ability to put themselves back together after death read the warhammer book warped galaxies: attack of the necrons to see how powerful they really are (i am not spoiling what happens in it)
@@rjsandford like really their weapons chip away your atoms, they are literally like The Eldar to The Eldar
Who else guessed that it was Nell playing the GBA before it showed her face?
BTW, I love that you chose Nell, she is my second favorite CO in that game. The dialogue between her and the dead commander from war groove is just right ✋👌
OMG advance wars, I haven't clicked that fast on a youtube video. Good job!
Well made animation and even informative. These videos really do sell the game, also how does a medieval army have a battle mech!?
its a golem imbue with magic. Magic is a thing in the wargroove lore.
Difference of co's next also include black hole and every co
I love the Perfect Dark soundtrack being used tor this - matches it perfectly.
PD is an underrated game IMO
the original, not that Zero Shit
orange army really ain't doing well
edit: I guess luck is a skill
did you even watch the animation.
Fake! I don't see you relying like mad on neotanks and heavy tanks!
Or even bombers.
*Neotank destroyed, BOMBER OP FLASHBACK INTENSIFIES*
Also, there are no heavy tank (unless you consider Neotank to be one).
I never got a chance to play advance wars and war groove, while good, kept crashing on me due to using outdated hardware.
So this was a real nice series. Loved the attention to detail not only in the animations themselves but also in the accuracy to in game mechanics.
I wish this was a real game collaboration. Would buy the hell out of this
Advance Wars and Wargroove are both on the Switch. If Chucklefish can contact the other company, for a colab, this might work out.
1:45
What a sad fate...
If they only had helmets...
Oh wait
Man, that animation was intense. I love it.
As someone who almost forgot Advance Wars seeing the CO skill activate was a rush of nostalgia.
The critical animations were fantastic and clever, I really enjoy this series.
If you were ever in doubt please keep this going.
it will but theres only 2 more episodes left for this series as its not intended to be a main thing, just something for the fans of both games to enjoy a animated series of this niche franchise.
@@NCHProductions I see! And thank you again, if it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't have found out about Wargroove at all!
I'll also be looking forward whatever your next project will be after this one!
Cheers from Italy!
@@NCHProductions No Story comparisons? Aw.
The military guys finally won! Good job to them!
nell op
is it just me or are all of these orange star army soldier screaming for a tf2 voiceline?
They are and it is hilarious.
France vs Nazi Germany: Expectation vs Reality.
Ironicly the truth. France was very underdeveloped in military department by the time of WW2.
Both games are awesome.
First, I congratulate you on the episode you have made. Second, it's a pity that you only want to do 5 episodes. The theme is very good and extensive, and I think you can do a full season, but I respect your decision. Thank you.
its a series for a very niche audience unfortunately. the 5 ep planned is just a tribute to the 2 fandoms of their respective games
