Somehow I'm getting Gi Trio (Samurai Warriors) vibes from this... got reminded of all the live performances they do (the Gi Trio were already considered a "boy band" before GBF was even a thing, lol).
Usually projections! It's the same for Miku live concerts, they set up projections on a screen to show them in a '3D' space. I don't know the details but it allows for more movement.
Doesn't stop us non-fujoshi from enjoying these guys too. 🙃 (Well... technically I _am_ a fujo, but mostly with characters I make myself. Shipping canon characters just feels weird unless there's actual proof.)
