Outstanding! That Eastern Front medal really makes you wonder what the original owner had been through. Guarantee that he was relieved to be in Norway instead of Russia.
A lot of wounded eastern front Soldiers were send to the Atlantik wall because they were not fit for frontline duty. So my guess is that this was a eastfront vet that spend the rest of his wartime there (one of the lucky ones I guess). Thanks for dropping by JD, best of luck in Normandy!
I was blown away by that swastika ! The bikers would be proud! The only think I could think of It was on a flag pole the pranced around in,great trip!Good to see you!!!
Think you are right, it used on a flagpole or something. there was a hole right in the middle so also could have been just a wall ornament or something.
Hi Carl, Thanks for watching the video and your comment. I do keep some personal records on the finds. But not something I share on for an archaeological/historical purpose.
Great show Metal Mike , what do you do if you detect live ammunition/ bombs , hand grandes ??? Run I guess lol!! Sorry joking seriously what do you do contact Police ?
Again Mike ( or should I start calling you Iron Mike Travelling Man along with metal detecting ) I'm so glad you got into the Great Finds along with your new buddies... Keep hunting and producing these videos my friend Be safe and be well..... G
There is an history about an Valter whos never had an single shoot. This story starts with an man whos got this pistol from hes grandpa whos have ovns it since 1944-45 when those german soliders left northern Norway. There was an friendly German officer who got known this family from when he comes to this small tovn up in north,he had helped this family when there was no other solider there,he was some kind of wact officer for an camp, those days before the Germans left he visit this family in order to burn down those houses in the area, and some how he comes alone when those others passing by in an hurry,he visit this family for the last time and speak to the father in the house and says to him take this as an suvenear from me,it had not seen an single shoot since im not that kind of man,i have never fire an single shoot in this war.. The pistol have been hide in an wooden box with some other things on the loft for meny years until this grandpa gives to hes grandson in late 90s
Sorry for asking , but I am interested in old ww2 pieces and it is only for collection purpose so Is it possible to get any of these from any site or from you sir ? (I’m from India btw )
Merit Cross w Crossed Swords... Found my first at age 11, twas stolen by an ex partners shag bit, bought another (gen item sgain), not same though. Regardless - Nice find Sir's. What's that swastika off ¿? Never understood why the Germans went into action wearing all their decorations.
ive got a shaving mirror just like that. it was brought back by a us doughboy from ww1. ive always suspected it was german due to the color. this pretty much confirms it. that giant swastika is probably from a flagstaff finial.
I inherited such a medal for use in the East from my grandfather! Together with the corresponding certificate! In German he has the nickname: "Frozen Meat Order!
Regards the swastika, many bf109s and fw fighters and even some bombers had these extruding from the fuel cap.if there is a sign that a shaft was broken and you can see a stub central to the swastika that'll be your bet.
You guys are so fortunate to live in Europe. Have pity on us who live in Australia; no Roman , no war relics, no medieval relics only metal objects no older than the 18th century. I am just so jealous.
There are some great ww2 dealers in the US, wehrmacht-millitaria for instance. William Kramer runs it and he has some great items for sale. I'm not even on his payroll ;)
The coin say "1 krone, alt før Norge" and "Hakon den syvende Norges konung, 1936" So "1 crown, all for Norway" (that kings motto) and "Hakon the 7th, King of Norway, 1936"
My father was captured by the Americans in the Ardennes in 1945. All of his badges, close combat clasps, tank badges, wounded badges from the Eastern Front etc. ... were taken from him by the Americans and probably sold to the highest bidder in America.
They are still many German ww2 relics in the US. Have read and seen on pictures that the allied soldiers were always on the look out for German medals. Can't blame them, the Germans had some of the best designs. Did your grandfather survive the War eventually?
So WW2 German artefacts were found, but WHAT are they doing at that spot? Some contextual information would be essential in my opinion: were the Germans camped at this spot, was there a battle here, what? How about some historical information to make this more interesting. You're making money out of these videos, so do a complete job.

another Oscar worthy video big balls, although this was more a jan feature
You can call me big balls and Jan lucky balls.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting he might argue skilled balls and no luck involved ,is this permitted?
no it is not. I suspect him of burying finds when we are sleeping.
Awesome finds in Viking land Mike.....any idea of the context for the swastika?

Love it!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nice vidéo Mike ! Thanks you 😉👍
Enjoy your videos and the history you find, out of curiosity do you catalog and make a log of the grid location for historical purpose?

Those medals are wonderful. The adventures and great places you go make me envious. Keep sending us these great adventures.
as always, thanks Mary! Appreciate the support :)
What was the big swastika used for? Seems too large for a medal or a badge

13:34 - That is a tin for tooth cleaning powder or cream. The word 'Dentifrice" gives it away. Great finds.
Thanks! Still wasnt sure what it was. Thanks for clearing that up.
Terrific finds guys, well done.

Wow all the finds are absolutely fabulous. Congrats Mike for you medal find.

Wow, just watched your latest video! Great finds, and good friends to dig with... Keep on digging Mike!
yeah these guys are amazing. Such fun guys to be around with and very hospitable. And the luck that Jan had those days..

Hi Garry, hey don't be jealous! You are able to go out and find gold-nuggets. Would love to search for those one day.
Nice medal. Definitely a good trip 👍
Great video and what great finds 👏 👍
Jan was so lucky again. I almost had to change the channel name to Iron Jan. Thanks for watching

That’s the biggest fucking Swaztika I’ve ever seen!
Seeing you find so many personal items, are their human remains also there and if there are what do you do about them ???
Zapraszamy do Polski😀
Dziękuję Ci!
Prachtige vondsten maar wat doe je er eigenlijk mee? Hou je ze bij of breng je ze naar een museum ofzo?

Next time Jan does that to you, make him go sit in the truck for one hour. He He.
I have a suspicion Jan buys his stuff of Aliexpress and buries them before we head out.. ;-)

Have you come to the USA? My dad was German.
Me gustan los videos que realizas en busqueda de articulos perdidos, gran trabajo!
Hi Daniel! Gracias por ver!
I have a number of those War Merit Crosses myself in mint condition, but it must be really great to find one in the ground!!!
Nice! I have some too in my collection, but to just find one that hasn't seen daylight in a long time makes it very special
Awesum find!!!!!!
Thanks John!
Great finds, I’m surprised that Eastern Front medal is still in decent condition.
The back wasn't that great anymore. Think it must have been laying face down. That helped conserving the front.
Bit still a great find. My first :)
Hello friend
Stuck in the US but I'd love the chance to find/buy objects like that. Huge WWll buff, hard to find genuine objects like those here
There are some great ww2 dealers in the US, wehrmacht-millitaria for instance. William Kramer runs it and he has some great items for sale. I'm not even on his payroll ;)
it's hard to believe what you found because a lot of these type of youtubers fake their videos so idk if this video is real or planted items.
The bottle cap, is that legend Dentifrice? Might be mouthwash?
Still don't know to be honest, you tell me!
The coin say "1 krone, alt før Norge" and "Hakon den syvende Norges konung, 1936"
So "1 crown, all for Norway" (that kings motto) and "Hakon the 7th, King of Norway, 1936"
Cool, didnt know that. Thanks for the translation

I read the coin and it says welcome to Coney Island.
The coin is from norway. Its a a one norwegian kroner.

I have nothing but jealously for you... I live in Illinois us. Nothing older than 1850s. And absolutely no ww2 things. Wish I was there.
One the advantages of living here. But trust me, there are a lot of reasons I would love to live in the US.
That big swastika, wtf never saw something like that!
Me neither! First time I see anyone digging up such a big one.
