    Hi, thanks for sharing this
    There is one problem, your ISP will give you a dynamic IP address, so it could change.
    So one way to solve that is to get a static IP from your ISP, and that will be expensive
    The other way to have another router that acts as a DDNS router.

    Whenever you develop a website or app one of the major considerations is the cost of hosting. The method shown here means you can avoid paying the costs of a cloud computing platform completely, such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform. Yes, those companies do offer free trials for limited periods, but what happens when that period expires? The method shown here is very helpful indeed. If I had seen this video ten years ago, I suspect I might already be a dollar millionaire by now.

    Most likely your(our) home IP addresses will change from time to time . one solution I have heard ( but not tested ) is to use the API of the registar. A script on the server should check if the ip address is changed and should call the registar API and change it there too

    Normally we Need a static public IP for website hosting ,

    But instead of creating a NAS. Can I host a website from my laptop per say, and have it request login credentials and afterwards allow file transfer so I could store and retrieve files like a NAS.
    Also can I use my laptop to store games and run them on my main computer since I don't want to rip out the only hard drive on the laptop since its usable.
    I haven't found any help anywhere. Is it even possible.

    You are opening up your home network/private network to the public over port 80. How are you preventing brute force attacks, sql injection attacks or any other types of attacks to your private network? This is an open invitation to your internal network for anyone to hack. There is no network segmentation done, there are no firewall policies implemented, there are no WAF's setup. I would not recommend this setup at all unless you want to invite hackers directly into your home network. Without proper security, this is a very bad and open setup.

    Question. How would I host multiple websites at home?

      encrypt the entire website with a different encrypting file service, and have the certifcates for each website on the end device. the application wont be able to read encrypted text so will load the website/certiface you have open, not as good as a site to site vpn would be but still fast enough. (i have not tried this to see if it actually works but in theory, if you like the sound of this and willing to pay for it im sure Microsoft would be happy to sell more Microsoft software and phones
      )

    can this host database servers as well? Is the website static or dynamic? Are you literally saying I can host my database driven dynamic app with about 1000 users myself? If yes what other things will i need. Awesome content you just got yourself a new subscriber.

    Where’s the best place to go to build a website where I can transfer it over and host my own. I do not have control over my router yet but I’m getting a second ISP with the router in my room
