Became an accidental fish breeder today after separating my danios from my betta because they were acting aggressive. Now I know why, hopefully I can keep some of these fry alive using your tips
Some things are so obvious but I have to see them ,siphon through an air stone ,Thank you I probably would never have thought of that . Possibly I may be able to help you one day ,👍🏼
Really like your idea of showing how to breed different kinds of fish. Hope you throw in one on breeding shrimp as well, I just can't make a go of those. Thanks, great job.
Hi Mark really enjoying your crack and your getting me back into the hobby, I'm 70 next month 12th July. And I need something to do. I've bred a lot of fish years ago. Three fish I have always wanted to breed Cardinal Tetra's, Rummynose Tetra's, and Emperor Tetra's. And another favourite Cory's. Thanks again Tug Wilson
I have tried this method of breeding and happy to say that it works very well. Thanks for all the advise and taking the time to make these videos. Much appreciated Mark.
Man ubate the best, there alot of videobon how to breed, but now one show step by step progress like u do,, help me alot,, i have been trying to breed neon, and i did it fallowing you video..thanks
Great info Mark. You've inspired me to have a go at breeding these.I am 52 now and have kept community tanks off and on for most of my adult life but have only thought it was possible to breed live bearers before. So thanks again mate and keep sharing your knowledge.Much appreciated
Oh thank you ever so much for sharing your knowledge with us Mark, it is just fantastic too watch, I've been a bit mean since having my ankle done because I got very jealous as I could not do anything with my tanks, but I'm getting back into it now, slow and steady. 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️
MARK'S AQUATICS it's not funny at all but start physio on Wednesday it's been a long old time 26th of February I had it done, not even been able too enjoy the weather lol typical 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️
There doing great, I really get into these new breeding videos your putting out, Love the channel, & thanks again for sharing your experience in the hobby with us.
Great job Mark love your videos. Youve inspired me to have a go at breeding some fish i bought a your pair of parva rainbowfish which came a bit small so have to grow out a bit first before breeding dont wont to put in my main tank as fish in there are a lot larger.Ive started a batch of walter worms after watching your video and i also keep dafnia out in a tub in the garden which give a good amount of live food for my main tank .look forward to your next video and would love to see you breeding some rainbow fish
I noticed on another ytube video that if you crush up a couple of calcium tablets or eggshell and add it to the worm culture when you set it up, it helps buffer it and helps to keep it from getting too acidic.
Thank you so much for the info. I definitely want to try this with my cardinals and my gold cloud mountain minnows...just wish I had the time right now! Ugh it will probably have to wait for fall...at least it gives me time to watch ur videos a few times to get it right
I was cleaning my danio tank and discovered newborn fry and eggs in my drain bucket. I’m trying to keep these guys alive. The nitrite is starting to spike I think from it being dirty to begin with, so will change water tomorrow.I got fry powder food recommended by another channel but will try the worms. They just started free swimming today. I have at least 56.
These guys are very easy to breed. My 12 year old self had a multiplying zebra dan population. If you can get Boraras brigittae to breed, that would be great. I've never seen mine breed.
Just a question for you mark and I have just found three babies in my sump tank and I have a 100 gallon main tank and a sump under the main tank and have found like I said three babies in the sump and in my main tank I have all real plants in the tank and if these all real plant would I still need too feed the babies infosora or how you speel it or will it just come out of my main tank and yes I have found them in and chamber where the water comes in the sump and its only a slow flow on a ball cock Yeh they are free swimming and look like zebras cuz I have them in me tank and allso tetras I am so happy
Hi I'm still new to the channel . Did you do a follow up on the fry ? How manny survives ? You have inspired me to try it . They just started to be free swimmer . Your right it's very rewarding to see. I'm just nervous to se the survival rate. Keep up the good work and inspiration !
Hi mark do the danios have to be a certain size to breed? I have some small ones from the pet shop but I’m not sure if they’re going to go more golden to tell if they’re male does this usually happen early on? Would love to try breeding these fish but just need to know what I’m doing first.
Even if I don´t want to breed at this time, it´s so much fun to see the process. I´ve got a new problem though. Do you know about fractured fins? My first Betta has grown very big fins. I believe he is a halfmoon. I´m not sure how this may have happend, but his fins are full of holes. there is no finrot or anything else to see. "Moon River Betta" channel is the only video that has a bit on the subject. He swims slow, but otherwise he seems happy, eating and patroling his tank. I´m doing small frequent waterchanges to keep the water as clean as possible, and prevent infection. Do you think it will heal or will he lose his fins? He will still flare, and his colour is good, but it looks really bad. I´ve only got smooth granite rocks, live plants and very fine gravel in his tank. I think the size of his fins might be the problem. Anything you could share, would be nice. Thank you.
Hello Mark, love your videos. I currently have a few surprise babies from my Zebra Danios that are about a week old. How soon do you suggest adding a sponge filter?
Epic Mark!...followed your videos started my own breeder tank...N my fry are doing fantastic😂...they're about just over a week old now, can I turn of the heater?
Yes it does smell as the plant matter rots down. But it will go in a few days and then the water will start to clear as the infusoria munch there way through it.👍😀
Hi guys. Leave it in indefinitely. It will get a bit smelly so be prepared ! After a few days you'll see hundreds of little white dots whizzing about, when you do just suck some water out with a turkey baster and add it to the fry tank.👍😀
MARK'S AQUATICS that would be awesome, the only reason I ask is because I just started a 50 gallon outdoor pond in my backyard and stocked it with danios and I’m a little obsessed at the moment.
I think a mosquito laid eggs in my infusoria colony, I now have little creatures up on the surface. Can I feed them as live food to my other fish? Or will the be as evil to them as they can be to us? Btw, I'm breeding some Danios and your videos have been priceless, are we due and update soon?
Best vlogger by a mile for all things aquariums🐠🐡🐟
Thank you 😀👍
Definitely
You are the best breeder iv ever found

I'm seriously thinking to do a fish store because of you 😃
Very good idea for the airstone I'd be to afraid to do a water change on that grow out.

Day before yesterday i set up a breeding tank for danios

This was really helpful could you do long fin leopard danios next
it's pretty much the same concept tbh
Aanjaneya C. Yeah lol

Amazing as always my friend. I'm REALLY enjoying this series. BTW.... the powder version of the RAPASHY foods makes a wonderful fry food.
Yes I'm using it. Thanks for watching 👍😀
I love danios..now I brouth danios and breed as well..
Hi I'm still new to the channel . Did you do a follow up on the fry ? How manny survives ? You have inspired me to try it . They just started to be free swimmer . Your right it's very rewarding to see. I'm just nervous to se the survival rate. Keep up the good work and inspiration !
Beautiful
Cheers Mark fantastic as usual, will be interesting to see them at the next stage looking forward to it. How are the two zebra fry doing? Cheers
Nice, its been a while. Do you still have some of these all grown up? Might be a nice 3rd video...
Yes I still have quite a few left.
QUESTION - can I put a tiny not of broccoli in the tank instead?
Hi mark do the danios have to be a certain size to breed? I have some small ones from the pet shop but I’m not sure if they’re going to go more golden to tell if they’re male does this usually happen early on? Would love to try breeding these fish but just need to know what I’m doing first.

Hi. Don't worry the holes will heal. Betta fins heal quite fast. small frequent water changes like your doing is good. 👍😀
Thank you so much. I´m just worried because there is much damage on all his fins, exept for the edges.
Do I need yo give worms? I have frozen blood worms will that help at 3 weeks?
Do you need water worms
At what age the zebra danios become ready to breed
This is so helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for watching Sean.👍😀
Hello Mark, love your videos. I currently have a few surprise babies from my Zebra Danios that are about a week old. How soon do you suggest adding a sponge filter?
Hi. Yes you can add one if you like but keep it running really slow ok.
Do you keep this culture under a light?
No just on a sunny windowsill.
Awesome video I manage to spawn and they just hatch today everything just like you have said. Any updates on how yours are doing ?
I must do an update soon. 😀👍
Could you add shrimp to the baby tank to help keep it clean . 🤔
Hi Chris. Yes you could put a couple in for clean up duties. 😊👍
Epic Mark!...followed your videos started my own breeder tank...N my fry are doing fantastic😂...they're about just over a week old now, can I turn of the heater?
Lower the heater slowly over a week ok.
@@MARKSAQUATICS thank you so much Mark👍
Hi dear, how many day after fry hatched we can put a filter in the water?
I would put one in on the second week.
@@MARKSAQUATICS thanx alot
Thx!
If the fish lay the eggs in a tank with other fish will they survive
Thx for the informative video, just wondering if this method works for most, if not all Danios.
Thanks for watching. This will also work with leopard danios. 👍😀
Is it normal for the infusoria to smell a bit rotten? Great video 👌👍🙏
Yes it does smell as the plant matter rots down. But it will go in a few days and then the water will start to clear as the infusoria munch there way through it.👍😀
How many times can Zebra Danios Breed?
They should breed every few days if fed well.
MARK'S AQUATICS thank you soo much!!! I found your videos very helpful.👍🏻
How long to leave the broccoli and moss in the water for the worms to appear? Do you leave them in indefinitely?
Hi guys. Leave it in indefinitely. It will get a bit smelly so be prepared ! After a few days you'll see hundreds of little white dots whizzing about, when you do just suck some water out with a turkey baster and add it to the fry tank.👍😀
I like this new series, though you made breeding neon tetras really easy
Thanks for watching 👍😀
Great series mark! How are the fry doing nowadays?
All doing well. I'll do a update soon.👍😀
MARK'S AQUATICS that would be awesome, the only reason I ask is because I just started a 50 gallon outdoor pond in my backyard and stocked it with danios and I’m a little obsessed at the moment.

Btw, I'm breeding some Danios and your videos have been priceless, are we due and update soon?
Yes I'll do an update on them soon. The mossy larvae are a bonus food. 😀👍
Thank you Mark! You're a legend!
Cool
Awesomee
Is this only 1 pair :0
those fry are so so tiny
Thanks for watching Patricia.👍😀
