The way your mind works blows me away, those Doors are perfect , it would of been nice to see some handmade hinges but we all know money is master, but even with that flat bar over the top of those hinges makes it look and act 100 % stronger. Again another perfect job, Well Done Sir,
once again ur design ideas and work and ability to make wat u see is truly a gift. Always enjoy ur content so again i say thank you for sharing ur journey with us. I too have inheitted a cat this 1 has 1 eye missing and is just too cool so we have adopted each other also.Congrates on ur new family addition there Big mouth Ralph, Our new 1 eyed cat is the most verbal animal ive ever owned but man is he KOOL
I really enjoy watching you work and hearing your thought process on what/why you do something, I probably never would have thought about adding a slider under the door so its more supported.
Hi, good afternoon another quality video great pair of quality doors, loved the crisscross strengthening the hinges are adequate, good to see another cat in workshop regards and respec
What i really like about your designs is that you too are an out of the box thinker, but you are more often than not on the "other side of the box" than I am. So just about every time you design something, it is totally different to what I was thinking I would do. I then get an "aha" moment when I realise what you are up to and how it will work!
A nice black decal saying Tire Haulers or something like that on the white walls of the side of the truck and you got a beautiful truck with those perfect rear black doors made by NBS. But.... only thing I did not like were those hinges. 12 dollar hinges are too flimsy for this type of a job. In time with the regular movement of the truck riding those hinges will give. But, the actual workmanship over all is 10 of 10 !!!
I did a set of hinges for a ramp door 20 years back and had to reinforce them as you did - appreciate your content - those doors look fine - anyone that says otherwise could kiss Mike Hunts cousin = Mike Keyster
You do great work and have quickly become my favorite channel. I know you're busy, but I wish you could post videos more often. Thank you for your time and effort!
Only a Genius makes a lot out of a little! Good job, as usual. About them DeWalt Pilot Points: I've used them a lot! Once they are done, use your Bench Grinder, grind them flat and then sharpen them like a regular drill bit. No need to throw them away...
Awesome job on fabricating that door. I noticed you’re using a high gloss paint. The metal has to be almost perfect for high gloss and if it’s not, it’ll show a glare and imperfections in the metal when the light hits it. Try using a semi gloss paint or a satin black. I think they make an equipment black. Any ways love watching your channel.
I had to Google "Rockstar character" to find out what you meant...so I learned something here. And thanks because I appreciate the compliment. And thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I say not an over kill. Rather have that 2 extra hinges than a come back. With the swinging doors he gains extra height which my be beneficial! Nice work 👍
CB, those doors look great! A true pro welder/designer guy you are. Sometime make a video on making hinges and latches and hasps. Mount them to a panel, mount it to the wall and you can show your customers what you can make.
I usually buy the latches, hinges, and hasps....the mass produced products are sold for way less money than what it costs to custom make those kinds of things No way I can compete with a company that makes latches at the rate of dozens or hundreds per day
3:46 Explanation of where to install hinges for 2 opening doors on to vertical frame of box begins here. Bottom of vertical box frame is double walled steal. 10:05 Dewalt “Pilot Point” drill bit drills pilot hole and big hole at same time and drills 4 to 5 faster and lasts longer than regular bits. 12:10 Drilling and tapping the holes for the hinge bolts.
You’re absolutely right about those Dewalt pilot point bits! I have resharpened them and they work well except for the fact that you do lose the pilot point.
For Top latch make one or use that one. like the bottom but just a spring with a cable through a pipe welded to door. Just pull on cable to pull latch down. Just an idea. If you built that for me I would want a top latch. With all the effort put into the doors. 👍
Great idea. Not having a locking latch at the top isn't a good idea. The doors need to be secured at the top, to prevent movement in transit and to add to the doors strength, to resist bending/flexing when/if the tryes do press against the inside of the doors, especially if the truck is driving up some very steep hills. Other than that, the doors are well designed and made. He done an excellent job of this.
As a box truck mechanic there’s no way that corner post will last They patched the rear corner with steel but them corner post tend to fail And I’m talking trucks with rollup doors So theres gonna be definitely gonna have problems in the future (Unless they got piedmonts angles on the 4 corners of the rear of the truck to reinforce the square of the box)
That door stopper on bottom of left door that keeps it from going in too far doesn't interfere with the fold-up lift underneath, does it? The lift comes up level to the diamond plate deck so it might need a little notch cut out of it for that piece of angle iron coming down. Anyways I'm sure you got it figured out afterwards! Keep it up! 👍👌🛠️🗜️🔧📐📏✏️🔩⛓️🔨⚠️🚧💪👨🏻🏭😄
Anytime that the lift gate would be raised up to the deck height those doors would be open...so there would be no need to notch out for the stopper...when the doors are open everything is out of the way of the lift gate...there would be no reason to raise the lift gate when the doors were closed.
I really like what you share on TH-cam. And I can see from the comments that your followers really like your project. I was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing our machine. Please let me know if you are interested.
No weatherstripping...it's purpose is to haul used tires from a tire shop...no need for much of a seal...the doors just keep the tires from falling out
I built what the owner asked for...roller door was rotten beyond repair and I was told they couldn't find a roller door to fit...dunno...I didn't look into it...just built what they ask for

Well done AGAIN CB!
Nice to meet Ralph as well.
You are one of the most efficient guy's I've ever seen. Really appreciate your thought process. Great job.
Those doors that you built are of much higher quality than any mass-produced roll-up doors that your customer originally wanted.
Never seen a man think the way you do those are very nice doors
Thanks 👍
Ralph must be taking after that guy working at NBS WELDING🤣🤣🤣. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Walk in my shoes they say. Great job for the budget allocated!
Smart, smart, SMART!! The idea with chain link was on point!

Right on!

Now sir those are some sexy doors! Great video. I always learn something.
Really did a good job, 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thank you 😁
Beast mode!! Great job!! More videos please!!

Your correct...highest rust protection comes from gloss paint though
This was some good work I subscribed I just thought me a box truck so you have helped out a lot with the ins and outs
Thanks for the sub 👍
Rockstar needs to make a character based on this guy, he's got personality in spades.

Those doors turned out great! Excellent work. Cheers
Neat! Nice work, man. Thanks for sharing.

I like it, and it looks cool too,
As always the video is full of innovative solutions, I love the chain link idea.
Thanks cb, great video
Nice job mate
Astro TS21Onyx drill bits work great as well.

Great job !
I say new doors will last longer than the roll up door. I better shut up! I'm starting to sound like Ralph😂
Doors look good. Does the top panel overlap the bottom panel on the outside to keep water from going between panels when rain hits door and runs down?
No...it's an old truck for hauling used tires so we decided it's not worth trying to make it weatherproof
Nice
Well done, but the left door won't fit flat against the box, when it's open.
As a box truck mechanic there’s no way that corner post will last

They been hauling tires with it for over a year...no problems yet

Who made a suggestion at 15:52 ??🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's what he said🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😅😅😅🤣
Yep that was a great suggestion from Mike Hunt and I've got a lot of use out of the saw stop setup 👍
@@NBSWELDING That's not what I mean. Mike Hunt when said fast sounds like My C**t. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆
Love the setup. Curious, did you do anything about weathetstripping the doors?
No weatherstripping...it's purpose is to haul used tires from a tire shop...no need for much of a seal...the doors just keep the tires from falling out
👍
👍
I like that brake. Is there a story there? I worked a lot of shops and haven't seen that before.
No story just a box & pan brake I bought
It's just for tires. Wouldn't mesh doors be enough ?
Would those be better?...mesh doesn't have much structure so you'd hafta frame up alot more
the doors came out nice... cutting and reusing the old door panels to fill the frame's center ???
The old door panels were rotten wood...got tossed in the dumpster
Barn doors are not loved by drivers,as you don't have he garage door convenience.
No dice on the barn type.
Can you fix or repair the roller door?
I built what the owner asked for...roller door was rotten beyond repair and I was told they couldn't find a roller door to fit...dunno...I didn't look into it...just built what they ask for
@@NBSWELDING I'm hip.
Nice
