As sad as it is, Terry's condition shouldn't be too much of a surprise. He retired only about 4 years ago, already in his 70s. The abuse he took throughout the years was chasing him down at a 1000mph but Terry lived so fast he was going 1005mph so it never could catch up to him. Then he retired, slowed to 0mph, and all that abuse suddenly hit him like a truck. He deserves all the praise he gets for being such a legend and having such a HUGE legacy and influence.

Terry has sadly struggled with his health since at least early to mid 2015. He was ill around the time Dusty Rhodes passed away, he was booked to come over to Scotland that year but really struggled with even the short trip to Dusty's funeral. Terry is absolutely one of the most beloved legends in the business. Best wishes to him, hope he can be taken care of medically to help him with any pain.

I met Terry in the 80s. The NWA was in my town and having show on a Thursday. I was working at a mall & I saw a guy going up an escalate. He had curly black hair and a satin jacket with a bull's head on the back. I actually said to myself, that could be Terry Funk. Once he got to the top and started walking, I saw his face and I was surprised that it WAS him. I just happened to see my little sister and told her I saw him. So we went to were he was at (a restaurant), and we were able to see him but there was a glass wall. We were being very respectful. We waved to him and he motioned for us to come to him. He was so nice. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the show. But what a treat

Terry Funk is fantastic. A wrestler's wrestler in 70s and 80s, then reimagined himself in the 90s and even the 2000s as the hardcore grandpa. Lot of fans should look up his stuff from his prime. He had a fantastic match with Hogan early in the Hulkamania era as a threat for the WWF title. He was also so popular in Japan that he and his brother were partly responsible for the move in puroresu from "locals vs foreigners" to traditional 'face vs heels."

"Corny, I don't know!" 😄 Much, much respect for the legendary, Terry Funk. His LJN WWF figures is one of my favorites from that line and is proudly displayed along with my other wrestling figures collection. Really hate to hear that he's suffering. Not surprised by this, but still hate to hear it. I wish him the best. By the way, love the transition to the mattress plug...Hilarious!! 😄

One of the last of a dying breed. Thank you for sacrificing your body and health for our entertainment for SO LONG. Terry Funk does not get as much credit as he deserves.

The Funker is the very definition of a guy who's got nothing more to prove. If he never makes another appearance or signs another piece of merch, that request should be honored.

Terry was a chameleon in the perfect sense. Any promotion he could fit the style to a tee and become a legend.

Terry Funk is just so universally loved and respected which is rare. If there's any current wrestlers that don't know anything about him or are not a fan should be removed from the business. So good. I'm going to go watch his empty arena match with Lawler now.

Of course Terry Funk is in alot of pain. He's Terry fucking Funk. If he wasn't I would have to think he's super human. He's in pain and boy he earned it. Everyone needs to remember though, he did it for us. Thank you Terry. For taking the pain for us both then and now. We can honestly say.... Terry suffers for our sins.

Was looking back on the wrestling archives recently and it sent shivers down my spine when he was passionately speaking towards the audience covered in blood (I believe). I can't really remember the clip or what it was titled as but It was in what he was saying and in the reaction he received from the crowd is what got him over. I could just tell by that one clip alone that he was more over then most today. He could emote with his audience. So important. Get well Terry.

Sorry if this was mentioned in the video, but to show how over Terry Funk was in Japan in the late 70s/early 80s, in the popular Manga "Kinnikuman" one of the main characters was based on him (Terryman).

Terry Funk was the greatest wrestler of all time. Grew up watching him in the Amarillo. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I miss the old Amarillo's NWA territory. God Bless Terry.

Striped tights with a Funk U T Shirt and a headband, just one of the most iconic looks ever as well, and that's later in his career, he didn't so much move with the times, he defined them. Won over a couple of generations of younger fans that still worship him to this day.

I'm watching Terry Funk vs Stan Hansen (WWA 06.23.1990)
where they wrestle in a Lake. Who/what was WWA?
I may have seen Funk in WWF in the mid 80's but don't remember, I do remember Funk vs Sabu in XPW early 2000's, it was great.
