Check out Skiddy Fishing on Instagram to see the goals I make each year and how I track them! Although I couldn't do it in this one day, I am happy to announce I did complete my goal of 5 new waters in the Uintas for 2024.
Great trip to the Uintas. Looks like my kind of adventure. Nice job on your catches. Some of those smaller ponds produce some monsters. They are always worth checking. Well done. Can't wait until backpacking season again. Take care and have a great day.
An honor to see you here Kevin thank you! I picked up a longer 4wt rod that is better for these lakes just in time for winter 😭 If you ever come up, ill take you to these waters.
@@skiddyfishing Haha, I'm guessing it's very difficult to get to those lakes once the snow hits! But sounds excellent brother, someday I'd love to check those lakes out. 🙂✌️🎣
Not a ton of fish, but what a beautiful area to fish all day! Five lakes in 1 day is pretty epic! I know a spot where we can catch a bunch of grayling. I'll have to take you up there.
If we would’ve stayed stagnant and I had a more proper rod, I think I could have tripled down on time. You will have to believe me when I say I missed 30 grayling hooksets. That took more than half of the day. 😭
Haha I know it’s weird for me too! I will strive to stay 60-70% tenkara based but I’ll admit if it’s a fly, I am happy! If it’s a native fish; even better! I hope to gain audience traffic by including western fly fishing content but not at the expense of losing tenkara support either. It’s a delicate balance 😅
Beautiful land, nice day and great water to fish in and a few beautiful ones landed too.Enjoyed the trip with you, thumbs up and greetings from NZ,, check out our trout fishing videos and let us know your thoughts, thanks, Tony.
@ It’s actually an Okuma Sierra reel. I love it! It’s a small arbor but the fish in these mountains are hardly large. I love moonlit too! Though I think the 7’6” was just a bit shorter than Id like for pond hopping these lakes. I picked up an 8’4” Echo Carbon for the future Uinta visits but I have still been smacking fish in small creeks with that Umbra. It’s just too dang fun! 🤩

What a fun challenge. Good-looking fish.

Gorgeous place to be able to fish. Still weird to watch you actually cast a fly rod, as I'm so used to watching Tenkara stuff from you - hah!
