Make sure that you are wearing a mask when using the dyes, Also, so you don't waste so much dye, you need to determine how much fiber you have and how much dye, whatever brand you are using, requires for the color/shade you want. That was an awful lot of wasted dye and that stuff is EXPENSIVE!!!!

I LOVED this and want some of those combs! Processing alpaca is so different from the wool I've worked with. Thanks for the great tutorial!!!
Thank You! The combs are uncapping combs used to uncap frames of honey for extraction. We found them at Rural King for 4.99 each.

Gosh glad my alpaca comes off the drum carder better than this does. I wonder why?
It all depends on the type of fiber and staple length , I use mostly Suri and if it is long it wraps on tighter.
