      Thanks!! Part 2 on Friday if all goes well. There was almost 2 hours of video that we edited down to 20 minutes and put music to. It took forever to edit and upload!! Not complaining---it was a lot of fun.

    I LOVED this and want some of those combs! Processing alpaca is so different from the wool I've worked with. Thanks for the great tutorial!!!

    • @reddutchessfarm4917

      Thank You! The combs are uncapping combs used to uncap frames of honey for extraction. We found them at Rural King for 4.99 each.

      Yes Ma'am. Thank you so much for offering to help us. I don't know why, but I get myself into trouble every time I try to help someone. Just having someone to talk to helped tremendously.

    LOVED IT!! And thanks for the shout-out! :-) I recommend changing the title to something like "How to Felt Alpaca Fiber | Welt Felting a Hat (Part 1)," then add it to a Playlist called "How to Felt Alpaca Fiber | Wet Felting a Hat." Have the same title for each part (except the part number!), and add each one to the playlist. :-)

      We have a video on using sorghum as animal feed, but not on planting and growing. I included a note in with the seed that may be helpful. If you have any questions let me know. TTYL

    Gosh glad my alpaca comes off the drum carder better than this does. I wonder why?

    • @reddutchessfarm4917
      @reddutchessfarm4917  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the type of fiber and staple length , I use mostly Suri and if it is long it wraps on tighter.

  • @pegz.3959
    @pegz.3959 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great tutorial!! Make sure that you are wearing a mask when using the dyes, Also, so you don't waste so much dye, you need to determine how much fiber you have and how much dye, whatever brand you are using, requires for the color/shade you want. That was an awful lot of wasted dye and that stuff is EXPENSIVE!!!!

    • @jjscrazylife8003
      @jjscrazylife8003 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and your concern. I always have a vent fan going and as far as extra dye I reuse what it left.
