Hi Geoff. We certainly could have used a few tips from you when we started. It is one of the things we have enjoyed the most, getting out to the boundaries and running the fences. The isolation, beautiful country and the achievement of getting damaged fence up and repaired was wonderful, (and sometimes a little frustrating). All up it was a wonderful experience. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Thanks Ossie, looking forward to catching up for a beer. We are locked in for the moment with rain closing all the roads but should be home mid Oct. See you then. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Kym, yes those screws are a mystery I recon they toss a small hand full into the van under the cabinetry just to keep us guessing. Glad you enjoyed the Vid and thanks for dropping us a line. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Guys, glad you enjoyed the vid I have loads of stuff for the second episode so I'm looking forward to putting that one together. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Another great episode. I love that I always learn some new things and get to see places I’ve never heard of. And how amazing that you get to work in these places, such great experiences 😊 in such beautiful country.
Hi again Robyn So glad the vids are of some value for you. There are so many places that are not in the "top 20 must do list" but are still absolutely worth a visit, we just have to look a little harder to find them sometimes 😊 Stopping and working adds a whole new dimension to Traveling as well and we love it. Thanks again for dropping us a line always great to get the feedback. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Thanks Sven. Glad you enjoyed the vid, working away on part two now, heaps of footage to go through so I'm looking forward to getting it together. Thanks for dropping us a line. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
What a brilliant episode. I love the way you both get your hands dirty (and a little burnt lol ) I guess a lot of people have stayed at stations but don't really see what happens behind the scenes. Really looking forward to Episode 2 - safe travels to both of you
Hi Graham, yes it is something completely different to the normal experience you get traveling around. We love to stop and work every now and then and just set roots for a short while. Working on the second episode now should have it out soon. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Andrew & Lisa another interesting vid those electric fences give one a tune up have been on the receiving end a few times gloves definitely the go. A great experience for you both especially you haven't done this type of work before. A dust suppression unit is worth the money we never get dust we have an AOR Matrix. The distances are amazing I used to go to property at Windorah qld close on 2 million acres 50 k on the property is just down the back! Safe travels
Hi Ian, Yes a dust suppression system is up at the top of the list. Might be Lisa's Christmas pressy 👍. We are loving the country and the experience it is all very new for us and learning so much (big thanks to Google and TH-cam). Thanks for dropping us a line. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Guys. Thanks for dropping us a line and so glad you enjoyed the vid. We have never been into the centre of WA and we are just loving this country, but it is the best time to be here. There is a lot more we are up to here so keep an eye out for the next episode. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Gerard I'll cheat a bit and copy and paste this answer as a few have asked the question, We landed this one through the WA Parks Volunteer Camp Host program. If you are interested google it and you should find your way to the Volunteer Camp Host page. Once you are registered you go on a mailing list for any opportunities that become available. There are also several Facebook pages that are a great source for these sorts of jobs, Google Grey Nomads Jobs or Traveling Jobs, Working Holiday Jobs etc. and you will find loads of them Some are paid positions others are for a site in exchange for a few hours work. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi John, yes this is a completely different experience here, trying to keep the livestock out, not in. Still a wonderful experience, we have loved it. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Rob. We are registered with the WA Parks and Wildlife Volunteer program. Most Parks in WA that have camps will have a volunteer camp host so they have a database of volunteers to fill these rolls. There are also a few other organisations that tap into this database. If you google WA Parks and Wildlife volunteer program you can find all the details on the Parks Web site. Hope this helps. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
Hi Mick, have a look at the end of the vid, the last couple of minutes, I have given a quick explanation of how we got the gig and that should answer your question, I hope. Cheers Andrew & Lisa
