Efteling is not just a theme park for us Dutch. It's become culture, because of the many folktales and legends that are incorporated. And almost everyone here has great childhood memories of the park.
@American Girl don't be scared to come to the Netherlands. Yes we are under sealevel but you don't see or feel that. And listen the Dutchies are the best water builders and the best water protectors in the world. Yesterday we had a storm of 140 - 150 km an hour. Roofs were flying around trees fell down and we had 4 deads. But the water stayed at its place. Don't worry 😉
Fun fact: The swing ship attraction is a modelled and named after The Halve Maen. The ship Henry Hudson sailed into what is now New York Harbor in September 1609. She was commissioned by the VOC Chamber of Amsterdam in the Dutch Republic to covertly find a western passage to China.
Interesting part about the now renewed 'Pandadroom' (Pandadream) it was originally designed in cooperation with WNF (World Nature Foundation). It is a theater where a 3D film about the vulnerable nature of Mother Earth can be seen. During the film, all kinds of 4D effects such as water, smell and wind are used. The new 4D film is basically an updated version of what 'Pandadroom' was and is now called 'Fabula'. It follows the story of a bear and a squirrel around the world using similar 4D effects.
What I really like about the Efteling is that they theme everything, the whole park is themed, and everything connects. Even when you're waiting in line, they tell you a pre story about the attraction
Indeed, I even think that is the biggest strength of the efteling comparing it to other theme-parks. The efteling is the most detailed park in every way; attraction, waiting-line, all the paths thru out the park and even al the restaurants toilets etc. Besides that it's also great that you can take all the food and stuff you'd like to the efteling. That way people with less money are also able to enjoy a day of the efteling because of all the overprices food etc. in every theme-park.
Most Dutch middle aged people grew up with The Efteling growing into how it is now and would return every year to see new parts of it and enjoy the old ones. I have very fond memories of Het Sprookjesbos (The Fairytale Forrest), because it is my first experience of the Efteling, I was a small child and it was magic to see the old fairytales come to life. My own kids couldn’t wait to be tall enough to go on the most spectacular rides, but still enjoyed the other attractions. Now they are all grown up and I’m sure that if they will have kids, they will bring them there too.
The Efteling is and will always be my favorite amusement park in the Netherlands. Pretty much everyone I know has great memories going there when they were kids. It's been a few years since I've visited, but this video reminded me that I definitely have to go again soon. Thank you for the videos! From Venlo(about 1,5-hour drive to Kaatsheuvel)
The Efteling is a great theme park, but it is more than that. Like others alleady said it's a part of dutch culture. Not only the attractions/rides are cool it's the whole atmosphere in the park. I know you would love all rides beacause of the story that is told behind the ride. Even the ones you say that scare you. I would like to see you guys come over to the Netherlands and not only visit Rotterdam (my city) but also this themepark. If you do the tickets are on me. I'll be glad to show you around.
12:12 Best place in the park to go on lunch break :D On the ground in front of the wailing soundbox and wailing people. 8:40 I was on that one. Was next to a terrified mother of 2 kids in the next seat. So I was talking about how "wooden coasters are more- WHOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ....-Kinetic. So you feel it more." ...I actually did that. Finished my sentence after the ride. Was funny.
Very true. I've been is Disney Orlando too, and Universal, the difference is that Disney and Universal are themed on movies, Efteling is themed on fairy tales.
I found the classic Disney Land in Anaheim California very good but a little bit too polished. Efteling feels more real. It does help that it is surrounded by an actual forest.
@@Frankhe78 i have never been to any disneyland at all but seen from videos the efteling defenitly makes everything feel more realistic even the animatronics that are in the sprookjesbos with the little houses its amazing
@@nikkiiixox7361 The Efteling Fairytale forest (Sprookjesbos) has a very limited number of actual animatronics. There are however numerous figures that contain a simple but convincing movement. A good example is "Sleeping Beauty". A couple of simple movements make this one quite realistic.
George and the Dragon is soooo comfy!!! It is super safe and super smooth aswell. The dragon (Edna) has a malfunction that our higher-ups don't want to fix. My coworker told me something's up with the motor and a new one would cost a fortune. Since we are currently building a new hotel and are looking to replace Spookslot with a new ride they don't see Edna as a priority
@@neorejbeck it was a fire hazard and just didn't really pull any visitors anymore. I have no inside info but as far as we know the building will mostlikely stay, the music stays, some props stay and the theme stays. Think of it as an upgrade!
Spookslot moet blijven, al renoveren ze de binnen kant, maar laat het kasteel staan. (edit) blijkbaar moet ik beter lezen want als ik jouw comment goed begrijp, blijft het kasteel zo veel mogelijk het zelfde
24:09 Water through the decor when the whale hits the glass. No holograms... There is some sort of a sprinkler system to take care of the pouring water. The cracks is projected on milky glass. Simple, yet effective. The whale is an actual animatronic character. It goes up-and-down with the same tech as a forklift.
Efteling has had amazing head designer artists. Anton Pieck and Ton van de Ven, they set and continued the unique style that is all over the theme park. You could say they are on the level of mr. Walt Disney who was an incredible (animation) artist himself.
It is amazing, very good theming outside and inside, the Flying Dutchman also has its own music. It is an immersive ride. I find the inside part the best part. The rollercoaster part is impressive because of the sheer weight of the cart but I find the ride very smooth. All rollercoasters in Efteling are ridiculously smooth. No sudden bumps. I actually liked the original Python better because it was more bumpy. I find the current version of Python a bit too smooth.
I like that you can bring you're own food and drinks into the park. And you're not forced to exit true a store after every attraction. The steam trains that go round in the park, that's also a nice touch. You don't have to walk to the other side of the park.
tip: if you go to the efteling, book the efteling hotel, you just might encounter little red riding hood or other fairytale characters during breakfast, also the rooms are of equal detail, and entrance to the park is included.
My first memories of the Efteling date back to the early 60s when I was a toddler that was taken to the Sprookjesbos by my parents. In those days, it was all there was. When I grew up, in my teens attractions like Python and other rides were added, making it even more fun to visit. Then we got kids, and we took them to Efteling. Now, at the age of 61, I still like to ride rollercoasters
Your reaction videos made me realise how much I miss the beautiful magic of the Efteling! I haven't been there in years. Better pay a visit soon before the Spookslot is taken down. Thanks for the inspiration! And please keep your great videos coming, I enjoy them a lot. Groetjes from Delft!
I've lost count on how many times I've been to the Efteling. I've been there with family when I was a kid. Cosplay meetups (when it was still allowed around 2007/8), I've been there with my university class. And I've had dates there as well. And it's always good. I don't even live close by (for Dutch standards), its just that great. If anyone invites me, or simply hints at maybe going there for a trip, I'm game. I never get tired of watching people visit it for the first time, either in real life when I'm there, videos of people visiting it, and this video of how you two are introduced to the idea of it.
I appreciate you talking about a lot of the background stories/information! Definitely helps understanding the park. If you ever get the chance: definitely go. It's an amazing park and so much fun for all ages!
45 years old, and when we are at the parkingplace on our way to the entrance, i always have to slow down otherwise my wife cant keep up👍..there is a natural exitement coming over me. Since i became 10 years old i buy every year the picture where i am in the phyton. Still love the sprookjesbos, memories there..its the coolest park!
Super nice reactions. keep it up!👌👍 The Efteling is really great, I've been there several times, and haven't seen everything yet, the haunted house is my favorite. the Fata Morgana, and that bobsleigh track is really cool. and the double wooden roller coaster is really awesome. there is so much to see and do. It is better to go in the autumn, because in the summer it is extremely busy, with waiting times of over an hour before you can enter an attraction. 1 day is not enough time to see everything. but it's really worth it. I've been there 5 times now, and every time you see new things, which I didn't see last time. Hahaha LOL Kind regards Chester from the Netherlands 🤟👊
Idk if the Ravelijn serie is avalible in English but if it is then please watch it! It is a fantasy serie that explains and tells the story behind the lost city of Ravelijn, where children go through a portal and becoume knigts with powers! I love it!
In regards to Symbolica's whale - it's a real model behind glass and there is real water as well, the water ends up in a tiny gutter hidden on the floor. Some additional practical effects done with transparent LCD screens and projections as well.
I go there as a kid mother and grandmother my grandson is 24 years. And I still go with my little grandkids..so who knows with the kids of my grand children...thats a true gift❤
You two spark so much joy😁 (also part 1) I like the water rides the most in the Effel-Thing, i am going to call it like that from now hehe. We used to go to the parc with our schoolclass (8 to 12 years old) once a year. I think for kids it's awesome, but also for adults.
I really enjoyed this 'ride' through the Efteling!! Thank you! I am Dutch but have never been there. Your fantastic video made me more or less part of it! And: the way you two "paint" the whole video is done in a nice, easy way. Cheers!
We go every year with all the kids of family and close friends. The kids love it but honestly it's the adults that want to go maybe more than the kids :p it's just so intertwined with everyone's childhoods that, even though it's a park mostly tailored to kids (of all ages), the adults enjoy it just as much and the memories of our own childhood visits to the park either with family of school trips. It's so different from any other amusement park and just has this magical unique feeling that sparks our inner child to come out and enjoy it as much as our kids. Even the grandparents can come along because you can rent scoot mobiles for the day so they don't have to walk.
Fun fact: if you get to the pub at the Flying Dutchman attraction, there are real actors there, dressed up in clothing of that era. And the pub owner will tell you stories, sometimes creepy sometimes just reminiscing about the good old times in the trading company. So that way you will get some info about that period in time. It is really well done. I have to say, most of the Efteling attractions have great shows. Building up the atmosphere for what is coming next. I love it. Been there so many times and will go back many times. The Efteling is really for all ages.
What?! I never really paid attention to the eating establishment in the park. Seems I must revisit as an adult to pay more attention to those not as obvious features.
Definitely visit Efteling when you come to the Netherlands. It's my favorite theme park ever and I will always sing its praises. Sure, some of it might be dated, but so is half of the Netherlands in itself and people from abroad seem to love that for its charm... it's the same with the Efteling. I'd say book a room in the Efteling hotel, one of the themed rooms if you can manage it, make sure to have at least one dining moment at the hotel itself and not in the park, because entertainment will show up in the hotel as well. I wouldn't recommend a one day trip, the park is too extensive to get through in a single day. While queues aren't as obscenely long as in Disney parks from what I've heard, you'll still spend quite a bit of time waiting in line. The themes of the rides and the corresponding scenery will probably keep you entertained while you wait, but it will cut into your time exploring the park itself. So yeah, I do recommend at least two days. Places like het Land van Laaf are a brilliant place to unwind and get away from the madness for a moment. Not many people visit the chubby cheeked lovable weirdos, or at least, it's usually less crowded than the rest of the park, so it's a nice place to get some rest, sit around, look at the scenes they're playing out and so on. Only thing is that the Efteling is definitely a Dutch theme park, meaning that most of the fairy tales told in the fairy tale forest will be in Dutch. You'll obviously be able to understand the scenes itself, but if you don't speak Dutch it'll be difficult to follow the story itself. Still, it's definitely worth checking out the forest, it's a good example of a sensory experience. Some of the scenes even allow you to smell what's going on, and some of it is interactive. It's not really a park for thrillseekers, but I don't think you'd expect that from a fantasy theme park anyway... you don't have to enjoy rollercoasters to have a good time in this park. Honestly you'd be better off not being a rollercoaster enthusiast because the coasters in this place are rather underwhelming. Anyways, I hadn't planned on going into detail on the park and such, but here I am... I hope you get to visit it sometime, and that you'll tell us all about it when you do. Maybe even vlog some of it, pretty sure your Dutch viewers would love it.
15:45 They tried to reel us in with this. The whole "Omg three different routes!!!" but since they are barely any different, going in there multiple times really isn't worth the wait for me. The queue is usually very long and I already forgot which route I got and which I haven't >.> I did really like the greenhouse that got turned into an aquarium, but sadly the whale broke down for a while? I bet you already looked into this, but you should definitely check out the pepper's ghost effects. They use it in Efteling (and the elevator-hotel ride in Disneyland, for example) a lot! It's really cool to see the behind the scenes stuff.
Great video but definitely missing the great music playing at the rides. Makes it so much more magical. It’s an important part. Same as feeling the wind blow etc. But the music should have definitely been included.
I just want to say one thing; PLEASE do visit " De Efteling" if you can. I promiss you, you will NOT be dissapointed. They have at least 1million visitors each year and they come from all over the world...Be carefull though; once visiting you don't want to leave anymore and makes you wanna come back again and again for the rest of your life....( so you are warned now...) Many people in The Netherland can tell you they visited " DE Efteling" as a child and have returned so many times for the rest of their lifes; as an adolescent, young grown up, parent, grant parent , great grant parent...Have fun 🙂
The Dutchman's castle in the back is the entrance!! Also Joris & the draak (george and the. dragon) is actually really fun! and the BAron goes under the ground into a loop
Hi, I loved it when I was a kid and now I go with my kids. You really need to check it out. BUT they want to demolish the "Spookslot" so you have to be fast! But it is nice to know that people all over the world love our themepark!
so fun to see your reactions, im weekly/monthly at the efteling for 18+ years (almost) and its still so magical when im there. But very sad that they didn’t add the music in the video because thats the absolute best thing about the efteling.
The Efteling is going build a new indoor rollercoaster there. And the story is about a boy who is afraid in the dark when he is lying in his bed. The train on the rollercoaster is like a bed
My wife hates fast rides, the flying dutchman is a relatively slow fast ride. She held my hand during the ride... Shes a masseuse... My hand nearly got crushed. Never again with my wife 😂
Smell and sound is very important in the Efteling. Not Just in the rides throughout the park you'll see mushrooms allong the paths, they constantly play music. And in the fairytail forrest, when you rattle at the gate of hansle and gretle, you smell vanilla comming from the wich's candy house.
George and teh dragon is indeed a wooden coaster but Efteling is very strict about maintainance. Every morning before openinghours workers zip down the coaster on rope to check all the screws and tighten them. They have an account on youtube and show these things in their videos. They also make videos about the start of a build. Go check it out if you're interested. : )
The efteling really is a place where magic exsists. Children create beautiful memories wih their families and that still goes on till they are older. im 16 now and the efteling is still my favourite places to go with friends or with family i dont mind the vibe there is just different and the stories that pop because of how everything looks and especially the music its feels like a vacation home you go to for a day in the summer or in the winter. No matter how old you are the thing that just makes the efteling great will always stay.
Fun Fact: Walt Disney visited Efteling in fhe 50s (in a trip disguised as a visit to the Dutch Film Studio dept. of Disney) and took ideas and inspiration of it which shows in the way the Disney world in California and even Paris was created.
I went here about 3 years ago. I lived this park. Be mindful that in winter the water rides are closed. Its could to see it explained in English, as everything is in Dutch - and at the time I had no idea of the back stories or what was going on!
Yes, the flying dutchman was based on the East Indian Trading Company (VOC). Back in the day English salesman made up this story about Captain Willem van der Dekken because the VOC was their business competitor and wanted to give the company a bad reputation. Captain Willem van der Dekken never really existed but the story became world famous and the Flying Dutchman is featured in Pirates of the caribbean.
And the VOC was dealing in slavetrade and war-crimes by burning all people of an island by holding prison all of them in a church and setting fire to that church. It was done bij de Gebroeders ( brothers) Van Houten. A black page in Dutch History.
12:41 the story is told while in the waiting line, so you do not get bored.. and the whole storyline is un-Disney.. totally outside that franchise.. Disney himself went to Efteling 2 years Disney World opened and one could see he took inspiration from Efteling. In the late 1970's Kate Bush shooted some videoclips in Efteling, and it also featured her tombstone, you can see it in TopPop Wutherning Heights video.. now with Stranger Things making Kate enter public interest again, this became a "thing" because her tombstone was locarted at the Haunted Castle atraction that Efteling wanted o close and demolish this year 2022
Villa Volta is such a great ride, you should check its soundtrack by Ruud Bos... It's bloody marvelous.. and I'm so privileged to live just 8 minutes drive from this epic park
When you're going to the efteling, you should stay at the efteling hotel. It's right next to the park with it's own entrance and it comes with extra perks, like entering the park before regular visitors and such.
The Efteling tickets cost 36,-. The most people in the Netherlands think it's to expensive. But if you compaire that with other amusementsparcs in Europe. It's verry cheap
The cheapest tickets are €38, the most expensive ones €46. Depends on the season. It is expensive, but I agree with you, it's 100% worth it. You could easily spend multiple days there and not get bored.
I've been several times in Symbolica and the whale in Symbolica is a real whale that goes up and down. The water is real and even falls on your head. The cracks in the glass are screens. Symbolica is definitely one of the popular attractions in the parc because of the great atmosphere and stunning details. If you compare theme and amusement parcs with the food industry, then most theme parcs are fast food restaurants and the Efteling is a 3-star restaurant.
My girlfriend lives in America and I live in the Netherlands and hopefully in May she comes here and we will go to the Efteling! It will be her first time and we both can't wait for it!
If you decide to go to the Efteling, you need at least two days to get it all in. There's a very nice hotel on site BTW and you can book dinner at the Ravelijn restaurant.
The panda dream is a 3d or 4d movie. The screen is huge and they have misters and the bench moves when the snake sneaks under there. It's not just a movie on a screen
Hi guys, I am from Belgium, The Netherlands are my neighbors and the Efteling is an amazing park.. unfortunate they are going to brake down spookslot ( the hunted castle with the ghosts) 😪 there's an other park in the Netherlands and it's called Toverland. It's a smaller park but also very sweet.. Nice video guys, greetings 😁
In the winter time they transform the Efteling into a winterwonderland.Lanterns hang throughout the park.Langnek and the bird Vogelrok wears a santa hat. You can cross-country ski on fake snow. And throughout the park there are stalls with hot chocolate or Unox smoked sausage sandwich you can eat and drink around the fireplaces. There is also a hall where you can skate. It is during November till Januari and at 2 Christmas days there are choirs and entertainment all over the park. The park is then open up to 8 pm.And beautifull in the dark. We love the Efteling so much but the entrance is 46 euro (52 dollar) per person. So for a normal family very expensive. With four people 184 euro (208 dollar)and 12,50 (14.13 dollar)parking ticket then the gas for the car Amsterdan to Kaatsheuvel 40 euro (45 dollar) total 236 euro(266,78 dollar) and then you eat there or you take your own bread, drinks and snacks with you. Every year many people save discount stamps at the supermarket Albert Heijn to get a 12.50(14.30 dollar) discount on a Efteling ticket. Hé we are still dutchies,we love discount!!🤪🤣
5:39 The Docked Ships As with other parts of this dark-ride the sense of smell is not forgotten. In the harbor you can actually smell carboleum and smoke. Of course, it is all save... nothing is really set on fire ;-)
Efteling is above sealevel so youre save there. Fore the coasters there pretty tame as coasters go still fun though so this looks like a park for you. If you come over just do more then one day. If its busy you can take 3 for your first time. And almost everything in the efteling is real you wil geet dripped on.
Nice video, agree with others that you need to watch it again, with the music of the different rides. Also, De Efteling is going to take down "Spook slot" and they are going to replace it with a new attraction. The original Spook slot is made in 1978, so it's time to replace it for a new ride... They say that the music will stay.. :)
Efteling is all about theming, atmosphere. I visited it many times in my life so far and will do in the future. It’s a 45 minute bicycle ride for me. Every attraction is safe. We have strict safety regulations here in the Netherlands.
The original video forgets to mention that the Pandadroom was in collaboration with the WNF, and it’s not just a funny dream, every little video ended with the sad reality of damage we’re doing to nature. The video with the icebears shows sadly how the ice is melting, the one with the turtle ends with empy oceans… the animation is super outdated but the meaning behind it was very strong, I love that the Efteling put thought into that. The replacement tho is not in collaboration with the WNF and the story is not about that at all and its sad that such an important message is gone now. Either way super great video! Love to see other peoples reactions to our favourite park
DEIC was also the FIRST company in the world top be quoted on the first stock exchange in the world in Amsterdam. Congratulations on being interested in and aware of things outside the USA. Not all the Netherlands is below sea level; far from it.
The scene with the wale against the glass it is real water coming down. How they do it, I don’t know but that’s the magic of it 😁 I’m not a big fan of Roller Coaster, like you said the older you get… but I always go on the Flying Dutchman, so try it when you visit!
The Baron tale stems from where i live in the south of the netherlands. Around 1800 our area was primary in mining, and many died working for wealthy Barons. Actually, working as a comunity nurse right now i still have patients suffering from coal lungs and having lung cancer, the mines closed in 1974. The coaster honers that history of our country.
Best parc in this country. Every age will have fun there....... Carnaval festival for todlers and the themed roller coasters for the dare devills. You`re allowed to bring your own food and drinks....... so that will make a difference in what you have to spent, it`s not a cheap ticket for a day but you need more time to be able to see all of it. But it`s beautifull.
Maybe a few things he didn''t mention. Efteling food is kind of good, above average compared to most theme parks. Plus some restaurants are themed and look great. The park itself is HUGE. You will have to walk for hours straight and the attractions aren't always close to each other. Efteling also host their own 'festival' during certain times in the year which has a special 'Efteling feeling' to it. And ofcourse they have their own winter theme which looks great, but is the same as other winter themes all over the world. Efteling isn't a park but for thrillseekers, but no worries, Walibi Holland, Toverland and even Phantasialand (Germany, but it is very close to the border of the Netherlands) are nearby as many other smaller theme parks. Efteling can be very crowded! So it might be hard to see it all in one day or even two days. I think you will love the Efteling, but don't compare it to Disney too often hehe. Efteling is a very rich company, but not extraordinary rich as Disney ;) Disney might be far more commercialised, it also simply has a higher production value. (and more attractions to offer) Efteling owns the entire forest which surrounds the theme park and will expand in 2024. English isn't my mother tongue but I hope you understand this wall of text haha
17:17 Hartenstad is the city Pardoes lives in. It's a made up city for the story, not real. You should check out the website Eftepedia, all the backgrounds and stories are on that site.
I feel the guy still missed showing the atmosphere of the Parc in his review movie. I would recommend watching some other TH-camrs that blogged their visit to the Parc that show the rides in it's true form. There is some mind blowing stuff this movie just breezes over.
If you like Efteling you should watch Maddie Moade visiting Efteling. Regular Efteling and winter Efteling. It really is the greatest park in europe, maybe even the world
At 28:31 its not Aladin, but Fakir. It tells of a sick sultan who can only get well if his gardener, with the help of a fakir, manages to give him a tulip.
The 1 one the carpet was not Aladin. Its the flying Fakir. He fly´s from left to right and when he comes into the tower the windo go open and he plays on his flut. Than tulips come up

The best theme park in the world... twice!

I think it was said that Walt Disney visited efteling and was inspired for Disneyland. Efteling is a rather old theme park.
The Elfteling is on the verge to become the biggest most visited theme park on the planet if the exposure becomes apparent.
Disney Paris is literally modeled after Efteling.
What I really like about the Efteling is that they theme everything, the whole park is themed, and everything connects. Even when you're waiting in line, they tell you a pre story about the attraction

So I was talking about how "wooden coasters are more-
WHOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
....-Kinetic. So you feel it more."
...I actually did that. Finished my sentence after the ride. Was funny.
I went to Disney in Orlando and Paris. And of course the Efteling.
The Efteling is less plastic 😁
Oh no, is Spookslot going to be demolished? That would be a shame, for me it's one of the iconic Efteling attractions!
Look up "Anton Pieck Efteling" on the internet. The Efteling was disigned after huis artwork.
Efteling has had amazing head designer artists. Anton Pieck and Ton van de Ven, they set and continued the unique style that is all over the theme park. You could say they are on the level of mr. Walt Disney who was an incredible (animation) artist himself.
6:40 the Flying Dutchman is such a fun ride so I would 100% try it
It is amazing, very good theming outside and inside, the Flying Dutchman also has its own music.
De muziek is wel een zieke banger in de vliegende Hollander ngl
Yeah, It was such a turn around for the park too, since it succcesfully incorporates great theming into a thrill ride.
Joris en de Draak all day for me. Masterpiece of a wooden coaster.
The Baron is AWESOME! That vertical drop into the ground (tunnel) is hella fun.
Efteling is the best parc I have ever been to. My favorite things are: the Baron, the Ravelijn show
On the Efteling channel you can see how they build the attractions
Many of the key attractions indeed have a video (series) that shows the process of creation. Everything is very well documented.
Super nice reactions. keep it up!👌👍
The Efteling is really great, I've been there several times, and haven't seen everything yet, the haunted house is my favorite. the Fata Morgana, and that bobsleigh track is really cool. and the double wooden roller coaster is really awesome.
there is so much to see and do.
It is better to go in the autumn, because in the summer it is extremely busy, with waiting times of over an hour before you can enter an attraction. 1 day is not enough time to see everything. but it's really worth it.
I've been there 5 times now, and every time you see new things, which I didn't see last time. Hahaha LOL
Kind regards Chester from the Netherlands 🤟👊
@25:46 The "SprookjesBos", the Fairytale Forrest was the first built part. All the rest emerged as time went by.
On busy days when the queues are long they will have extra entertainers in the park. Musicians, fairies, storytellers, etcetera.
What?! I never really paid attention to the eating establishment in the park. Seems I must revisit as an adult to pay more attention to those not as obvious features.
@@PyrusFlameborn Sadly enough they only do it now a days when it is really busy in the park and the waiting queues are very long.
Fun fact: disney was inspired by the efteling in the 70's
@@lawrencevitalis8430 lol that was in the 50's
The water in the Symbolica with the whale is real. If you are unlucky you can get a drop of water on you're head. 😂👍
Good morning.just waiting with my morning coffee 😊🌷
☕☕ one for you one for me 😂
Great video but definitely missing the great music playing at the rides. Makes it so much more magical. It’s an important part. Same as feeling the wind blow etc. But the music should have definitely been included.
I just want to say one thing; PLEASE do visit " De Efteling" if you can. I promiss you, you will NOT be dissapointed. They have at least 1million visitors each year and they come from all over the world...Be carefull though; once visiting you don't want to leave anymore and makes you wanna come back again and again for the rest of your life....( so you are warned now...) Many people in The Netherland can tell you they visited " DE Efteling" as a child and have returned so many times for the rest of their lifes; as an adolescent, young grown up, parent, grant parent , great grant parent...Have fun 🙂
as a kid Efteling was amazing now i'm 49 and the Efteling is still amazing
The Dutchman's castle in the back is the entrance!! Also Joris & the draak (george and the. dragon) is actually really fun! and the BAron goes under the ground into a loop
Hi, I loved it when I was a kid and now I go with my kids. You really need to check it out. BUT they want to demolish the "Spookslot" so you have to be fast! But it is nice to know that people all over the world love our themepark!
Hoop dat ze naar de petitie luisteren en toch het spookslot laten staan
so fun to see your reactions, im weekly/monthly at the efteling for 18+ years (almost) and its still so magical when im there. But very sad that they didn’t add the music in the video because thats the absolute best thing about the efteling.
16:11 i like how in the beginning there was a bug, where this animatronic Flipped all the guests off XD
It's a shame they're going to tear down the ghost castle. I loved that one.
The Efteling is going build a new indoor rollercoaster there.
And the story is about a boy who is afraid in the dark when he is lying in his bed.
The train on the rollercoaster is like a bed
@@EL-Patron. So its not going to be a combo Dark Ride/Coaster, just an indoor coaster??
@@EL-Patron. I hope that its not true because I hate roller coasters, Max & Morits was too much for me and I love Spookslot as it is now
My wife hates fast rides, the flying dutchman is a relatively slow fast ride. She held my hand during the ride... Shes a masseuse... My hand nearly got crushed. Never again with my wife 😂
The Flying Dutchman is indeed a very smooth ride.
😆😆😆😆
I've been many times to the Efteling and will go many more times.Guys, save some money if you can and be welcome. You will love it.
12:20 i dont like rollercoasters but i did baron 1898 a few times and i loved it!🥰
The efteling really is a place where magic exsists.
You guys should really visit it. I've been there many times and I really like it
Yes, the flying dutchman was based on the East Indian Trading Company (VOC).
For your information: Joris en de draak (George and the dragon) runs super smooth and is not loud.
I love De Efteling. Have been there multiple times. Each time I enjoy it a lot.
Great content! I'm at the Efteling a few times a week bcs i live nearby hahah. There's only one thing you missed right now and that's the music! :P
Landgenoten laat je horen🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Greetings from Den Bosch! ;)
I have been to the efteling and to Disney Paris.
The efteling is much more special than Disney.
5:39 The Docked Ships
As with other parts of this dark-ride the sense of smell is not forgotten. In the harbor you can actually smell carboleum and smoke. Of course, it is all save... nothing is really set on fire ;-)
I used to have a subscription. I live 15m from the park so we went whenever we where bored. :D
Efteling is above sealevel so youre save there. Fore the coasters there pretty tame as coasters go still fun though so this looks like a park for you. If you come over just do more then one day. If its busy you can take 3 for your first time.
And almost everything in the efteling is real you wil geet dripped on.
I got really dizzy when I came out the baron XD and they are still building or changing things in the Efteling
@26,54, its a dungon ;)
and yeah check out the fairytail forrest, that part of the park cost you a day already to see it al
I recommend you to watch a video of toverland too. It’s a young park that didn’t excisted 21 years ago and grew fast
DEIC was also the FIRST company in the world top be quoted on the first stock exchange in the world in Amsterdam. Congratulations on being interested in and aware of things outside the USA. Not all the Netherlands is below sea level; far from it.
You could watch : de magische wereld van Pardoes (The magical world of Pardoes) i love to watch that serie back 😍
The scene with the wale against the glass it is real water coming down.
The coaster honers that history of our country.
btw, my best friend, her boyfriend makes sculptures for the efteling park (rides and outdoor along the walking trail).
George and the Dragon is actually a very smooth coaster, I've been on steel coasters that shake me about a lot more.
(and more attractions to offer)
Efteling owns the entire forest which surrounds the theme park and will expand in 2024.
It really is the greatest park in europe, maybe even the world
Wood is a much smoother ride. It gives more while being structurally sound.
just so you know fabula is a 4D movie if a character sneezes for example you feel it in the theater
At 28:31 its not Aladin, but Fakir. It tells of a sick sultan who can only get well if his gardener, with the help of a fakir, manages to give him a tulip.
Yeah guys enjoy your day and come to visit this unique themapark called the Netherlands
11:00 Wait is this a movie? I saw Nils Verkooijen. Where can I watch it?
And he plays a ghost... like in Bobby en de geestenjagers... love it.
This movie in Pandadream is in 3D. I was on the Flying Dutchman, it was great
The Efteling is an amazing amusement park.👍🏻
The 1 one the carpet was not Aladin. Its the flying Fakir. He fly´s from left to right and when he comes into the tower the windo go open and he plays on his flut. Than tulips come up
