Nice video, I would like to correct that OCI doesn’t needs to be renewed after every 5 years below 20 years. Only need to update the passport details at the age of 20 and after 50. OCI needs to be only renewed in case lost.

hey guyz my kids dont qualify for Oci cuz their father is from Pak. We are all Canadian citizens. The kids mother has Oci and she owns the property in India. Can the kids take over/claim their mothers property after their mother or can their mother transfer her property to kids name or maybe write a vnly allowed on tourist visa to India. why VFS charging exorbitant and loot rate for call $2.48 per minute and uploading charges. only 5 minutes free for every week. how much anybody can talk for 5 minutes? Nobody in world charges for call. I contacted consulate General and he says it is not in our control. who is controller of VFS?

If someone has a Canadian passport and has surrendered the Indian passport already and received a Surrender Certificate, then can that person travel to other countries (other than India) without having an Indian visa or OCI?
What I mean is if someone does not apply for Indian visa or OCI because they do not have to go to India, then they could still go to other countries like USA or Europe right as long as they follow travel requirements for US or any other European country?
Absolutely . U can use ur Canadian passport to travel the world .
For India - just apply for a visitor visa whenever u wish to visit India

When u travel to any country , all they need is the visa of that country ( the country u r visiting )

please reply..im so confused whether to apply oci or tourist visa .. i heard from my friends that if i get oci and while stay in india if someone file a false case on me then canadian government unable to help us to come back to canada because of oci card but in tourist visa its different scenario we can come back to canada because it has expiry date and govt may be able to help

The existing requirement to re-issue an OCI Card each time a new passport is issued to an OCI cardholder up to 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age has been dispensed with an OCI cardholder should get the OCI card re-issued once when a new passport is issued after completing 20 years of age [For example, when new passport is obtained at the age of 25, then OCI Card can be renewed only at that time and not immediately after attending the age of 20 years

I don't think you have to pay anything to update passport details for minor until the age of 20 years. Correct me I am wrong

We just need to update the renewed passport number on the portal and we get a confirmation email in a month. New OCI cards are no longer issued. I did it in Oct 2021 for my kids

If we are PR card holders,Do we need to stay in Canada after completing 3 yrs once to get the PR card renewed?
As PR Card is for 5 years, you can apply for the renewal if I am not wrong 3-6 months before expiry.
