Hepatitis affects hepatocytes. If hepatocytes are being affected than how can billirubin get conjugated in hepatitis. Again hepatitis is destroying liver cells and bile is excreted via bile duct into GIT then why there is problem in excretion of bile from liver when primarily hepatocytes are affected in hepatitis
Not all liver cell are damaged simultaneously so some liver cell which UDP glucoronyl transferase are intact can still conjugate the bilirubin ...that's Ur 1st answer and if theere is inflammation of liver the pumping of bile to canaliculi may get effected which will hamper the secretion of bile to canal and also it may swell up the canal which will also block the bile outflow and hence the biliary obstruction could be seen
