It is so much fun to see your weekend vlogs.
Thanks! They're fun to share.
Hi Krista just a note to say I finished the book by Nita Prose and I liked it better than the first one. It took a little time to get into the story but I think you will like it. Happy Sabbath.
Love it! I am eager to read it maybe soon. haha. But we know how I am with series.
That’s the BEST tbr jar I have ever seen on anyone’s channel!! The perfect size to mix them up and do a fair draw.
Haha. Great idea! It's a bit big for a tbr jar.
Aw, Little Dude took your picture. How cute!! 😊
He's such a sweetie.
I love your weekend vlogs! Excited when I saw you had posted.
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching.
Your vlogs bring so much joy!
I’m glad that your friend will help you sort through Jordan’s things.
📚💕🪽
I love that you feel that way. Thanks for saying. I am glad my friend will come over too. It will be good/motivating to have company and help.
Those tulips were beautiful. I wish I had a place like that around here, Id be there everyday!
I love getting to go to these gardens so often. They're so beautiful!
@@BooksAndJams I live next to an inlet that extends out to the ocean. I used to visit the Quay several times a week as a teenager. There's a wicked doughnut shop there too, bonus! Fun fact: that's how I track inflation. A doughnut cost 75 cents as a teenager, $1.10 in my 20s, and now $1.75 in my mid 30s. "Back in my day you could get a doughnut with only 3 quarters" 😂
I also have that beehive drink dispenser. We use it all the time for parties and get togethers!
Fun! I couldn't believe I found it so cheap! It's adorable.
Love your shopping and your tour of gardens, books, puzzles. You show things besides all books, you know!
Glad you enjoyed.
always fun to see yr weekend events. The bee jar would be cool to put water n strawberries n mint leaves n drink it all day when it is hot there. I dnfed Lightening Strikes, even though I like his writing. Couldn’t get into it. Now I am reading, The Water Keeper as per yr selection. Happy reading 😊
If I had the counter space that would be great. I'm sure I'll find ways to use it this summer. Bummer about Lightning Strike. hopefully I like it a bitt better! We'll see.
Your little dude is so precious! The Gardens are really beautiful right now. Great video Krista ❤️
Thanks, Kami. He's such a sweet kiddo. I'm thankful I get to hang out with him for my job! haha.
Krista I just love these full videos where you check in a lot. I’m glad you liked The Maid. I’ve amazingly finished the Water Keeper and am so eager to join the discussion. I hated to miss the one about the Mona Lisa. Taxes. Ugh. But grateful we live in the good ole u s of a. ❤🇺🇸
Thanks, Glenda. I also hope you can make it to the zoom for Water Keeper. I need to get to that one next.
Hi - Lovely Spring days - but Oh the pollen -- this year the pollen is wicked bad. [ I live in the PNW]
What Garden you and the Little Dude frequent. I lived in Northern VA for about 10 years but not much time in Richmond. I do miss DC, NOVA, the Springs, the Daffys, the Forsythia and of course the cherry blossoms.
Enjoy Spring, good books, and the Little Dude.
I don't say the official name of the gardens for safety reasons. It is such a blessing to be able to go so often though! Yeah, the pollen is no joke this year. I am being pretty diligent in taking my allergy meds these days.
Beautiful day in the garden with Little Dude!
For sure! I love springtime in Virginia.
Fun video as always! Little dude and the caterpillars. So cute! I am also self-employed and understand the pain of doing your taxes. I am pretty good about paying my estimated taxes so I usually don’t have to pay too much at the end, but I still put them off. Ugh!
I should figure out how/when to pay estimated taxes. That would probably be wise...and helpful come tax time!
Seeing those little fuzzy caterpillars brings back great memories for me!! We had loads of them in Louisiana when I was a kid; my sister and I played with them constantly.
Me too! I couldn't believe how many we saw. It was so fun.
❤😊the caterpillars are sooo cute! And what a good boy, listening so well when he crossed the stream :) fun vlog! So excited for the try a chapter vid!
My aunt told me those caterpillars are bad news! haha. They are pretty destructive to whatever plant they are on. Ugh. They were pretty cute though. Yeah my little buddy is a good listener most of the time. Took lots of practice to get there. haha.
I've read and liked Maggie O'Farrell books, but I did not like Hamnet. I even bought it because there was so many holds on it at the library - it was super hyped at the time.
Yikes. I hope I can get into it. We'll see.
❤️ The Maid! Loved that one!
Your videos are always such a delight! Always love seeing clips of the gardens!🌷🌸
Thanks so much, Lauren! I hope to love the sequel just as much. We'll see.
That garden was so beautiful. Wish we had one like that here where I live. And you are so good with your little dude.
Thanks so much. I love my little buddy and am so thankful to have been with his family for so long. And getting to visit those gardens is also a big blessing. It's good for my soul.
I have a show recommendation....."the Way home". It's on peacock and Hallmark. It's a kinda slow start but addicting. I love it.
I love a Krista vlog. You are so fortunate to live near those gardens. Gorgeous.
Ok, I just added The Way Home to "my stuff" on Peacock. Thanks for the rec! It definitely looks like something I would like.
I loved The Maid as well and enjoyed the sequel even more as we got to connect more with the MC hearing about her backstory. I love your vlogs, Krista!
I can't wait get more of her back story. I'm so glad you love them. That's so nice to hear!
Love your bee skep drinking jug! Your comment about your mom and sis made me lol!
I couldn't resist that jug. It's just so cute.
Yea a weekend vlog!! Love these vlogs Krista. Tagging along w/ you while you're out & about especially the gardens🤗🌺📚 ❤fun!!!
I am glad you enjoy them!
Balls of yarn would look great in the glass container you picked up.
I am slowly dipping my toe into having two books going at a time. Right now I have a suspense and romcom going. Having different genres going is the only way I could do it.
I did my taxes yesterday and swore I'm got going to do that again. Let's remind eachother!! 😅
Putting yarn in that container is a fun idea.
I just love these videos!! I made it last longer by setting five minute timers where I got to watch you for five minutes and then read one chapter in my book before I could watch the next five minutes. The gardens are beautiful! Thank you for sharing, here at 8600 ft in CO we have zero flowers and it snowed 3 inches overnight. I love watching Little Dude too, and your puzzles, and talking about food, and your shopping at thrift and consignment stores, all things I also love. I got all those books from the library except the Agnes one, it had some tags I don’t enjoy. My aching heart just needed this video. Love love love you. ❤
Haha I love that you did your own sprints with my video! Happy to help get a bit more reading done! So fun. Much love right back at ya!
I've made several crochet jellyfishes. They're pretty easy!! I'm excited to see your try a chapter video. I've been enjoying your vlogs so much! :)
Nice! I think the jellyfishes are so cute! I found a tutorial online. Just need to get some soft yarn now and try it out.
Fun weekend! I need to do more shopping around my community! 😊
Yes! I often find things through events on fb. I can choose when and where and it shows lots of options.
You have amazing flowers! In Wisconsin, we can't plant anything before Mother's Day. We never
Know when we will get a last blast of snow.
I love going to the gardens every week. It's different every time. I'm just not a fan of winter at all. haha.
I see some comments that people didn't like the sequel of The Maid. I actually liked it better. It developed Molly further and was more interesting. Both books make me want to clean and "return things to perfection" lol. Thanks for the thoughts. (loved the garden)
Yeah. I've heard both sides. I'm so curious what I'll think.
I also wait to the last minute for taxes because I own a childcare center and do childcare in my home so I know I will always pay in. $6400 this year 😭 and it took me 10 hours to get done. I always tell myself that I will keep better track and do a log at the end of each month but I never do. Ugh. All to say, I feel you!!
Ugh that stinks! I always say I'll keep better track too. Never happens. Glad we are not alone!
Hey Krista. Some tiny little battery operated lights would be cute in that jar. The streaming service you use for live shows will be tax deductible as well for you.
I love all the jar ideas. I only did one or two months of Streamyard so I probably won't claim it this year, but I could!
I have The Maid and need to read it, but I haven't had time due to work. Glad it was so good!
I really enjoyed it. I hope you find some pockets for reading soon.
My library had something they called Book Match in February that I joined in on. They recommended six books and they all looked great. I have not read any yet but just checked out my first the other day. I will probably read one a month. I thought it was really fun. 😊
Cool! I love discovering different resources the library has. That book match sounds fun.
What a great Saturday! And yay for taxes being done! We got ours done Saturday morning also 😂
Procrastinators unite! haha. Yay for getting them done.
I totally get what you mean about Hamnet. I DNF’d it. Just couldn’t do it 🤦🏻♀️ Great video!
Oh man. I am still hopeful I will get into it a bit more. We'll see.
Bummer. I am hoping it gets a bit better for me. I'm still very much at the beginning. We'll see.
@@BooksAndJams Sorry to be such a Negative Nelly 🙁 I just hate slogging thru a book I’m not enjoying. Hope you have better luck with it!
I need to go back and read Thursday Murder Club and then read the rest of the series. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Yes! I think you'll enjoy the series.
Life happens .
I get it I'm reading two books too.Deaf Row wow never read anything like it and I'm a Advid reader..Love where you live Beautiful not even U. K. SO LUCKY..CHGO. ILL.Take Care.love your weekend channel never long enough for me.missing the music..little Guy the Best.
I wasn't on the worship team, but should have busted out my guitar. I'll try to remember to do that next time.
I enjoy your vlogs!
Thanks.
Love your videos❤❤
Thanks.
Krista if you ever need help with random tax q’s, I’m here as your fellow CPA bestie 💗
Thanks! That's good to remember!
I loved The Maid, but the sequel was just ok. It's called The Mystery Guest.
I appreciate your opinion. Interesting because others said they liked the sequel better. I wonder what I'll think.
Look for Amigurumi crochet patterns. They are really cute animals and other things. 🐙
Yes! I think there are tons of tutorials on TH-cam. I'll probably start there.
Hi, thanks for all of the book recommendations. Have you read City of Ember by Jeanne Duprau or Evening Class by Maeve binchy or daughter of china and the sequel across the China sky by C Hope Flinchbaugh ? city of Ember is the first in a series but I have only read the first book.
I read the whole Ember series quite a few years ago. I enjoyed it very much. I haven't read anything by Maeve Binchy. Thanks for all the recommendations!
Hey Krista. In looking for a tunic length shirt to go with your leggings, you might want to check out some short dresses. Some of them are cute, and they do the job.
Have a great week.
I do have a few short dresses that I wear like a shirt. That's a good reminder to look for more!
Have you ever read the Mitford series from Jan Koran?? Excellent 14 book series
I read the first one and didn't really like it. It was too slow paced for me.
Watching this on the 15th and just paid and filed my extension. You’re in good company.
I know a handful of procrastinators like us! haha. I don't want to be one of them next year. We'll see.
I don't want to be in this procrastinator company! haha. But at least I'm not alone!
@@BooksAndJams there's always next year. #goals
I hear you on the annoyingness that is taxes. You were making me nervous you wouldn't get them finished in time :P
Oh man. I was nervous too! haha.
I was nervous too! haha. But I did it! Woohoo!
Pango… I think I cannot find you on there anymore. You removed your link in the description. I love shopping your store. Help?!?
My name on Pango is the same as on IG @krista_booksandjams I will add it back to my description. Thanks!
@@BooksAndJams thank you!! I was able to find your shop!!💃🏻
Loved The maid. She was autistic I think…and ocd? book 2 is good too
I agree, but the book never comes right out and says. I am looking forward to the second book.
I DNF'd Hamnet. I couldn't get into it.
Oh man. I'm determined to read it. We'll see what I think.
Oh man. I'm worried this will be me too. We'll see.
Congrats on taxes!!😀lol
Thanks so much! It's good to have them done.
10:03 Do you have to do your end-of-year taxes because you're self-employed or is it something that everyone has to do in the US?
In the UK, you only do self-assessment if you're self-employed or earning additional income. As I am in full-time employment, I don't do self-assessment because my employers work out my tax.
Sorry, this has always confused me!
(I have done self-assessment in the past and I share your pain. Thoughts and prayers for trying to speak to anyone at the tax office)
Everyone does taxes but they get forms from their employers with all the details. Mine are a bit harder being self-employed and having multiple sources of income. I'm not the best one to ask about it. haha.
