My dad was diagnosed with the same brain cancer that Gord had back in 2013. When Gord died it hit me hard when I founded that he died from the same cancer my dad has. I’m lucky to still have my dad in my life. He’s a fighter and I pray every day he continues to be strong.

We all are born to die, we know this, it is ever before us. The way Gord Downie lived his life and how he left this earth is something to behold. He did so on his own terms with kindness, compassion and a grace that is rarely if ever seen. He truly is a shining example to us all.

Seeing a man like Dallas admit that he's a crier gives me hope for a future where men are able to reveal there vulnerable sides without fear of judgment.
Thank you for all of the music over the years Mr. Green, for bein' a real genuine person yourself to look up to, and for sending off Mr. Downie with sentimental professionalism.
"Sleeping Sickness" has a new weight to it now, but that won't stop me from listening.

I believe the tears from a man is more acceptable than you think. For me and most women I know, I’ve always appreciated my man to not only be stoic and strong, but also be compassionate about things that hurt the heart. It’s the balance of that juxtaposition, that I find endearing. These are the men that I want to be surrounded by when life has me on my knees. For people in my life, if you’re able to laugh with me, you have to cry with me too.
I’m a huge Dallas Green fan and it’s nice that he’s a local talent. I could listen to him all day. He has a passion for great causes and he’s just an all round stand up human being.

Dallas thank you for admitting you cry! Life is so unfair.. that was a beautiful video compilation of a gorgeous man gone too soon ❤️ 15 years fan of Dallas from the UK, didn’t know who Gord was before he was on Sleeping Sickness, then last year I found this Bobcaygen cover and then learnt of Gords passing and really started listening to the Hips’s music.. so sorry for Canada he seems like a absolute legend xxx ❤️

It's not Juno related, but I always remember the concert at the Olympics, 2016 (I think). They were sensational, even Americans were in love...

Gord was not weird. He was honest. But if you need to make money off him, you do YA THING BIG GUY! You da best!

Where is Dallas trying to make money off of Gord? They were good friends and even released some music together. Having Dallas do the tribute was extremely fitting for a variety of reasons. One of the only other groups I could've seen fitting for the Junos tribute would've been Arkells. Of course there are others but those would be my top 2 picks. I'm sure Dallas would rather have his friend back than have been doing any of this tribute stuff.
