- First time I tried cutting my own hair was 7 months ago and never did I think I'll be able to do it-- but here I am now doing it again lol. I've watched tons of tutorial videos before actually deciding to cut my own hair and now I'm uploading this video to hopefully inspire you girls out there who want to do a DIY haircut too! This looks great! For anyone new to this and wanting to make it even easier to get the back straight, I’d highly recommend sectioning your hair into four ponytails. Separate the front two by tracing down your head behind each ear and gathering those two sections into two ponytails, then half the back section for the 2nd two. I’ve been cutting my own hair for years and still prefer this method because it is so much easier to get everything even. Have no fear and go for it!

@@jasminee7855 Hi Jasminee! No problem, I completely understand how that can sound confusing. It is where you section the hair into four sections and the two front sections are measured by making a circle behind your ears and over your head. You would then make a ponytail on the left and another on the right, then section off the back section of your hair into two more different ponytails until you have four ponytails total. It is hard to visualize but that front section is separated and traced where you would have a headband if that helps. I'm a visual person and learned this technique better by seeing it done, so hopefully this helped. If you are like me and do better with visually seeing it, I found examples by typing "how to part hair into four sections". I hope this helps! :)

@@jasminee7855 You’re most welcome! I hope the method works as easily for you as it has for me. The shorter I go, the easier it is to keep it all straight by making four ponytails. I just slide the hair tie down the length and match them up to where I want the length to be, then I cut one ponytail at a time. It is the quickest and easiest method I’ve found so far. OMG! I just did it! My hair was down to my waist long and I cut it using your instructions. I cut it to a bit above jaw level (ahhhhh!) and it came out amazing! Cute bob! Thank you so much! 💓 It was scary but so happy I did it!

My favorite video so far! After watching many diy videos I was ready to give up on the idea of cutting my hair for my upcoming cancer treatments. Not only did you make it look easy, but you had fun doing it too. My hair is down to my waist, I’m so sad to lose it. I hope It’ll look as cute on me as it does on you after I get done. @@bibliosmiia You are so sweet! You’re words are more powerful than you know. I was always so afraid of the diagnosis. My mom had it and my stepdad died a painful death of lung cancer. I always thought I would faint or fall apart and cry hysterically embarrassing myself in front of the doctor and his staff. But I didn’t do anything. I was really calm and ice cold. I just listened and I haven’t told anyone yet, not even my ungrateful kids. I haven’t been able to get warm yet. It’s hard to explain. I’m sorry, I’m alone with my thoughts.😏

From experience, If you don’t want to have to fi the back as much with it being longer then add a section or 2 (the same length) in the back, Did this my last cut and it was good

Her hair is so uneven in the back I can see it when she turns her head; im sure she has a vcut since she did the ponytail method, so the back will always be longer then the front. Good idea to save money but have someone fix the back for you!

Just watched this and want to suggest wetting hair so it’s more even when you cut it.
I think you should watch Brad Mondo on how to cut hair straight. He sections have into 4 pony tails then cuts the hair and it is straight. Just sayin LOL

My hair grows about 3 inches a month.. I cut my hair this way once every 2 months… I think it out every month. This is to reduce my migraines… it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time!!
