Plumbing has made and broke entire civilizations. Easy to take it for granted when it's all out of sight/out of mind and it's just an ever present reality.

It's an international problem. I have to deal w/ people frequently landscaping over their water meter boxes. I've seen more than a few driveway extensions pave over them also. The meter box contains their shut-off valve so good luck to them if they ever have to get to it.
At least where I live in the USA , as soon as the drain flows , they pack up and leave. No attempt at any cleanup. Thanks for all you do for your customers!!
Mad props for helping with the clean up, I can honestly say I've never dealt with a plumber who went above and beyond like that. I've had plumbers refuse to work until after the area was clean.
Had a situation at my grandmother's house. She never went into the basement because of steep steps. Months of toilet flushing and showers built up in the basement after the clay pipe collapsed. We only noticed because the house was awfully humid.....
@@martinr1834 I'd put money on it getting a mop down and some bleach and that being it, but you could see at the door the paint on the wall was all powdering because of it soaking up the moisture, and it seemed like it had worked it way under the tiles at the doorway at the hallway, so you it should be stripped out but I bet it won't

That was a good one! You should really get a vacuum that you can put a hose on the outlet so it works like a pump as well. Would make life a lot easier on you. They use them here in Sweden.

That is why in my dream bathroom, I want a drain in the floor just in case something overflows or floods.
floor drains work great.... but when they clog the shit flows in both directions.
Just make sure u put a check valve in the drain line so water only goes one way & u don't get a poop fountain out of the floor drain

Fiorentini F46 F2 is an example. They have a built in pump that is water level triggered. This one is quite bulky, might exist smaller ones.
