Very cool. I really like the serviceberry bushes and currants. I see them all the time up in the mountains, as well as roses and strawberries. It sounds like to plant native plants you really have to know a lot about it. Are there any local nurseries that specialize in native plants?
Really well done landscape! Could you please comment on this gentleman’s use of fabric on this project. He mentioned he used some fabric in the side yard where the planters were located…did he use fabric under all rock/gravel areas or just certain areas? Any details you could give on the usage of fabric would be greatly appreciated.
From what I understand, he used fabric under all the rock in that area. It helps keep the rock separate from the soil underneath so the stone doesn't sink into the soil when it gets wet and walked on.
How beautiful , I am writing down plant names so I can try to find some of them. I'm in South Salt Lake right now but grew up in American Fork, I'd love to know where this is located and what zone he is in?
Great looking garden.
I am along the Front Range of Colorado and you gave me some great ideas to look into. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I love his plant choices!

Most nurseries in our area carry some locally native plants. The one that specializes in themnis Desert Nursery Perennial Farm in SLC.

thank you thank you, I spent most of my life down in A.F . It's so beautiful
My serviceberry and American persimmon get round holes in their leaves every year that may well be the work of leafcutter bees.
That definitely could be Leafcutter bees!
