Thank you for this update Mr. Porter. I was looking to buy the Consew, but, now that I've seen this, I may reconsider. In the end, it may come down to the price. By the way, I look forward to the backpack video and being able to purchase the patterns for it. :-)

Hi Arthur, I love all your videos, watched every one..just wondering, which software do you use for your videos titles etc? A video on this would be great, also will you be posting the link to your new channel, take care my friend and keep up the good work, I've learnt so much from you 😊
Hello TradingToProfit, Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos and for such a kind compliment, we are using Final Cut Pro 10 for the videos, it is a very simple software to use, we will be posting the link after October 15th Arthur
@@bushhogg2469 I apologize for just getting back with you, I do have a video on TH-cam "Understanding your sewing machine" it's all about understanding the tension, if you have any questions send me an email and I'll give you my cell phone number so we could talk. info@dallasdesigningdreams.org Arthur
Hello Michael, thank you for watching and for commenting! This machine is a great tool when it comes to sewing leather, if you get the Juki 1541S with the knob on top, it is the same machine. Arthur
Hi Arthur, Love the video. I'm in the market with the exact same Thor 1541s. I have been reviewing and going back and forth for weeks and weeks on what machine to get. I have watched this video maye 6 times taking notes. This is my first machine and a big investment for me. After making this video can you please give me pro's and cons of the 1541s or any downsides to it after making this video. Have you had any problems with the Thor 1541s after the video was made. I'm going crazy over here and want to start sewing but want to make sure I am making the right decision. As a side note I will be doing leather as well with thicker materials. Thanks in advance.
Hello Greg, Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos, I do understand where you are about making such an investment, I have really enjoyed this machine, everyone that comes into our shop and use the THRO, LOVE this machine, I have nothing bad to say about machine, if you are in Dallas, stop by our shop, if you have any questions, give me a call, send me a e-mail info@dallasdesigningdreams.org and I will send you my cell number, our shop number is 214-421-9900 Arthur
Hello Jorge, Thank you for taking the time to watch our video, this machine should have no problem sewing 8 or 9 oz leather, it can take from size 46 thread to size 270 thread! if you send me a blank email to info@dallasdesigningdreams.org I will send pictures of how thick of leather this machine can sew! Arthur
So I have a fancy-ish domestic machine for piecing quilts and finishing quilts. Every once in a while though, I get a wild hair because I've watched a talented person (that's you!) do something really cool and I want to give it a try. In general I've been looking at industrial sewing machines because the vast majority of my sewing is a straight stitch with a walking foot. I want more...machine. I want more motor. I've been considering the Consew, the Juki, and now the Thor. My question is this: Are they serious when they say its only for middle to heavyweight materials? Could you not use this THOR for cotton materials that only require 50wt thread? I guess I want a machine that can sew cotton or leather bags. If I were really making wishes, I would also add that I want to lose the foot, change it to a darning foot, and drop the feed dogs and adjust the stitch width to zero and do free motion quilting....that would be the mother of all machines. But I'll settle for a good straight stitcher that can eat lightweight and heavyweight materials consistently. What are your thoughts?
Hello Two Blue Pockets, Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos and for your compliment, the Thor is not good for any thin fabric, it would be ok for thick fabric and leather! Arthur
I just pulled the trigger on the Thor GS-1541s-SRG. I did a lot of study the past couple of days and this baby seems to check the boxes for me. My company, ClubShields.com. I make custom golf club covers for the Irons and wedges only, which as of this day I remain the only one making such a cover of my own design. The machine I have used before was a very old Juki LU563, so I am very excited for the upgrade. To be honest I did not see the value in the Juki 1541. for an additional 500 bucks. When I called Sunny Sewing machine,Steven answered all my questions and I am confident he will be there if I need him for additional questions
Hello Dennis, Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos and CONGRATULATIONS on getting your new machine!! We have a pattern for a Driver, I can send it you if you need one! Arthur
Hello Kimmy, Thank you taking the time to watch our videos, the Juki and the Thor are the same machine, there is one big difference between the two, the Thor have a knob on the upper top of the machine, this allow the Thor to adjust the foot for different thickness of leather, this is a game changer for machines!! Arthur
