      sweetandtasty I'm a bit anti social. My last job, during holidays I went to a happy hour, didn't drink a thing, but others did rounds and got drunk. They were lucky they made it home alive. If I was with people that liked me sincerely, I would drink in a bar, but I don't have that. I prefer to go home and get drunk and not drink and drive. Wow. I got 8 thumbs up for being an outcast.
      All Outcasts unite, Give me your Thumbs,.!!! I'll eat them later.
      I would definitely drink with Mina and Yoonah any day. Thats on my bucket list that will never happen.

      I am very curious to find out where you learned that Koreans more often on rainy days?? I don't believe that for a second!! Can anyone who has lived in Korea verify whether this is true?? Perhaps they might drink more often indoors with a few friends but it just doesn't make sense that they would drink more outside at bars!!

    But what if you don't drink alcohol? If you decline to go out with your bosses or co-workers because you don't drink, will you still become a social outcast?

      @@parkjihooo Wow, well that's not cool. I don't mind a light drink or a glass of wine myself. But I'm just wondering for those that don't drink. They shouldn't require/or make a person drink just to appease the rest.

      @@1517the_year Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. That's kinda crazy. And like, what about someone who is a recovering alcoholic, who had to stop drinking? At these companies, they would still demand a staff member drinks? I'm sorry, I'm probably taking it too far, LOL!

    • @1517the_year
      @1517the_year 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MrsDeeDee313 no worries! It’s more like all social events generally involve drinking. So if you turn down these events, people generally stop inviting you to go out. But they’d definitely not force an ex-alcoholic to drink if they knew hahaha. It’s quite toxic, I only realised that it wasn’t normal when I visited other countries.

If you go and drink and then change your mind after meeting someone they have it in their mind that you used to drink so there's more pressure...but if you go and let people know from the beginning it's fine. Does Soju ALWAYS come in green bottles? Every movie or film I've seen has the characters pouring from green bottles.

    • @yee7597
      @yee7597 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MarcellusTheGreen The answer is yes. I have seen many brands of Soju and they're all green. It's like how most vodka bottles are usually clear and beer bottles are most of the time brown or in a can. It's recognizable design purposes. Plus there's also Green Day in Korea. Green Day is on August 14th and is basically a day where it is made for drinking soju.

    Many/most older Korean men shows signs of mental impediment/retardation (most frequently evidenced in their speech). I’ve always wondered why most Korean men become this way as they get older. Prolonged alcohol consumption causes mental retardation. I used to think it’s MSG, but now I see that alcohol is the culprit, since most Korean men consume alcohol (soju, beer) as part of the cultural norm as they dine with coworkers and family.

I either handle alcohol pretty well or I go full on black out, what happens if you black out with Korean co workers? because if id be an elder of superior id be (a little) offended by that (because in my culture its kind of rude to be drunk with someone who's not a close friend but a older person / superior at work).. basically what I ask, are they okay with that? also IF your Korean?

    I am literally quite scared right now. I am moving to seoul this year because luckily got a work there and this time i study alot on what and whatsnot to do. The problem is i don't drink, go to bars or even smoke. What scares me the most if your boss offer you dinners and drinks in a pub or bar and you there sweating like crazy because you don't know what to say. Can you politely say that you can go but only for dinner and not for drinks? Or could you say that can i be the sober one so all of you can go to your homes safely or something like that?

    I love your dramas and movies, however, I am sure many others like me are getting tired of watching them where women are being portrayed as drunks and have to be carried home. This expectation is a shock when we learn about your country being as the up and coming country for looking after your body, health, having treatments and plastic surgery to stay young. This drinking situation is against all you try and project to the world for beauty. Where is the self respect and true belief, look after your body?

    but i want to add something about alcohol... not becaz alcohol/wine is bad, but its STUPIDITY.. people should drink something which will keep them in conscious/attentive of their senses. what is the use of a drink which may make a person unconscious ??!. hoping my comment will make sense "someday".. no offense though... but someone should be there to bring people to consciousness also... hoping some spiritual understanding, cause IGNORANCE IS NOT A BLISS ... :) for more understanding, or any doubts, one can visit, "sadhguru jaggi vasudev videos about alcohol", he is enlightening, realized, mystic, non-religious person. though he said never to follow a person, but he helps with people's doubts(any topic). kamsamida
