This record was played in 1972 by Kaudha twins band it's competitor was Harusi ya mk of D o Misiani Shirati. The same year though the Kaudha was leading. In ukambani when people came to a dance party missing those two records the owner of the dance were left alone.
I retired from Public Service recently and these numbers are rejuvenating me to my days when I was joining Secondary School in the 70s. Nyang Omaki, Hundhwe, Kundi II, etc are my favourite now.
I am not a Luo and so do not understand a single word in Jane Ochieng. But I danced this song several years ago with my age mates (all from Central Province, Kenya) and, boy, did we like it! One of the best songs of our time. For those of you who were there, I am sure you will recall a Kikuyu song no doubt copied from Jane Ochieng. Well done. Well done.
Great beats.Though don't understand dholuo..i love the beats. We used to play the song at any dancing ceremony.A very popular song in kikuyu land in early 1970's.
Great benga classic from 1973. @kassooh : pls change the song title to 'H.A. Omoro Alando' performed by Kaudha Twins Band ... side B of the record had the song 'Jane Ochieng'. .... the vinyl was released on Kundi label ... thnks for the upload, reminds me of my days of innocence. my dad had the record but it got lost with many others
it reminds me of my mum, aunty patty{kws} anty nzii. they used to sing and dance bt hawaelewi lgha ata kidog. i wonder if mum got ma name fro that song
Gita luongo nyingi Omoro, Osiepa--the guitar calls out your name, Omoro my friend...Omoro gave the artist so much money to buy his musical instruments...Jane Ochieng's name only comes up towards the end.
janerita mwaniki ... Jane Ochieng' is on the B-side of this record. This is the A-side and the song is "H.A. Omoro Alando" released in 1973 on Kundi label. The band is Kaudha Twins. Nice that you love it.
I must confess that I have always thought that this was actually Jane Ochieng. We used to danxe ourselves silly in 1974/75 when we were small boys. .. and buy . .did we dance it. . .without understanding a single word. . . . days when music was music. . .listen to those beats. . . cheeers
+Wamuyu Waithaka : Yes, Wamuyu, this was a great hit and music then was music. We used to dance ourselves silly without understanding a single word. . . but, boy. . .listen to those beats. . . first class. . . .

The golden hit of luo Benga that sold in every corner of Kenya and Evergreen

Without this song December wasn't December, wayback in the 1970s.
Best of our music for ages in the 70s was the inthing!f Can't forget the kibushi on its flipside Simeyo Achueny or something like that.
