Or "Ich will" , He wants the audience to hear him, to feel him, to understand him.
it's also about love between the singer and the audience and so on and so forth. It's always about love.
And if you think that's not the case with some songs, then you haven't understood the lyrics.

You can kinda see that he still struggles with stage fright...Till used to wear goggles so people couldn't see that he had his eyes closed. During this performance if you noticed that he kept his eyes shut most of the time..as if trying to avoid looking at the crowd.
This describes a toxic relationship where even though she is very beutiful she is a bad person..she is sucking the Life out of him, he just wants out of relationship.This song is actually the opposite to Morgenstern where his gf is ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside and in the end he finally realizes that she is truly beautiful...i believe both these songs are connected and the message i get is that yes we all want to be with someone.. Pretty..handsome..goodlooking etc. But if that person is negative and only brings you down are they really worth it? compared to someone who may not be beautiful (according to what society defines as beautiful) but she is a kind and loving person..who would make a better gf..wife?
Time moves on..outer beauty fades...its only temporary...so in the long run its whats inside that truly matters 🤗💕💕
Love your comment. This song now makes me teary eyed. Just the song itself and also knowing Till's struggles. Rammstein songs have been seen as dirty at times but this is unbelievably beautiful and heartbreaking
@@antediluvianer genau! Thank you very much for your comment...yes i too feel sad when i see Till Lindemann in some pictures...he just has this sadness... I dont remember exactly but there was an article about a movie where they were gonna use his song "любимый город" "beloved town" and they were at the priemer? And this one reporter in particular was getting all up in his face and was just so rude and insensitive and they showed Till getting emotional and his eyes getting wattery and tears coming. Im like why? Why are people so damn mean? What? Just because he's a man and has this strong manly persona and looks tough and mean that it's ok? He is still a human being with true feelings and emotions and i know for a fact if the roles were reversed people would be coming to her defense and calling him an asshole and being an insensitive jerk ect.. But because he's a man and she's just a woman he's supposed to just take it...no big deal...I just don't know how people have gotten so screwed up...im just smh 😞

It's just vague enough that all of us can apply this lesson to many different situations. I have a friend that describes this to be about his dream job...that turned out to be a soul-sucking wrong turn in his life.
But sung beautifully, live, and on the album.
One could also think about that the one that is lured by beauty is followed by it... the diamond follows him and tries to lure him in to her beauty but he says yes I know and I'm tempted -but a diamond is just another stone. Now that last part could be because he already feels broken and have no soul left or that he sees through her lies and temptations.
The thing I love about Rammstein is that you can sit down with 10 people to talk about the lyrics and all have different opinions about the meanings.
Shows how much input Till have to the lyrics and shows his craftmanship in poetry (and how much he've learnd from his father that were a great poet writer in Germany).

Hi from Germany, I appriciate your Rammstein reactions , I think also that in Rammstein Lyrics are always several different meanings and
you need always to take a deeper look into their songs until you understand what is meant.
Me as a german is also not every time clear what they want to say with many of their songs.

Well, that's true. There are a lot of meanings to this Song. One of them could be that you are so in love in this one person, which she already knows and enjoying that moment when you are saying it to her (you are so beautiful) and at that moment she shows her body to you with an incredible smile so that you are feeling that "suck out of my soul" moment, however, it can't be, because for many reasons. ;) In the end you need to understand that she is just one of so many "stones" so keep going on to look for another "diamant".

The deeper meaning of the song is very simple. He had a relationship with Sophia Thomalla. This relationship failed. Hu Hu hinted at it in a comment here. She is a beautiful woman, but much younger than Till. And in this song he describes his disappointment, anger (what cannot love must hate) and his pain.

to me it just reads like a rewritten fabel of "the fox and the sour grapes"^^. to rid himself of the allure of the out of reach diamond he has to tell himself it is just a stone, to not linger on a situation beyond his control.
Es gibt noch so einen "Rammstein Fan" wie dich in Südafrika. Er sagt auch oft, das heißt in Africans so und so. Also, dass in Africans manche Wörter ähnlich klingen und er dies so dann auch versteht.
