Nev's Fishing I was thinking the same thing on Sunday when I was on the water. I’m happy to self isolate as long as that means I’ve can do it on the boat with beer and a rod! Hahaha yeah it is very movie like, that’s for sure!
Thanks Nev - i just ordered a couple from Rui - do think the rattle helped or are they (rattles) there to catch the fisho? Good luck with the kayak buying, that will push the old catch rate up once you get it, just hope you don't hook something too big otherwise you will end up in Tassie. lol
Overall I personally don't think the rattle does much apart from catch the customer but I do reckon that Rui jigs match up with the best of them. I am so keen for a kayak, as you said will help me get onto plenty more fish, hopefully not too many stingrays haha
Do you catch a squid every time you go to this pier? I've been there for several times, normally from arvo to sunset, but never got one. Could you please share how you pick the timing? Thanks!
It's a tough pier to get used to, when I first started fishing there it also took me several time until I caught one. My favorite time is the first 2 hours of the incoming but as you see you can get them the whole tide, couple other general tips are get your jig as close to the bottom as possible when fishing the deeper water. Good luck!
Great vids m8 im a very keen squid fisho i go to mount martha off the rocks mornington pier stony point pier n tyabb bank im keen on heading down to san remo pier at sum stage mite see u there gimme sum tips lol keep up the great vids m8 👍👍
I have a video on my squid fishing tips, it varies from pier to pier. Cowes focus on tide changes, san remo incoming tide, corinella high tide. White jigs and try keep them as close to the bottom as possible, most importantly have patience
@@NevsFishing new to area as well so just learning the spots. Do you put a running ball sinker about 30 cm from jig head, to help keep lure down in the fast flowing water.
Glad you enjoyed mate! For now just keep watching the vids and showing support, I’m thinking of creating my own jigs and maybe merch jn the future so that could be a possibility! Cheers heaps
Hey Nev, I’m just out of hospital in Geelong, had to come here from Brisbane for medical treatment which hasn’t worked,I’m staying in St Leonard’s near Geelong and I love my fishing,iv had to sell everything I own to pay for treatment but I kept most of my fishing gear,I’m on a disability pension so don’t have much spare funds but was wondering how much it would cost for you to come give me a fishing lesson,iv never been able to catch a squid which is my absolute favourite (I grew up in Cleveland Moreton bay) just seeing if you would help me make a dream come true as it’s been a tough lonely long 11 months in hospital here, sorry to bother you.I don’t expect a reply as I guess you have 100s of msgs but I was just building up my courage to msg and ask sorry
@@NevsFishing Thanks for replying. Sorry to disagree but I've never had any problems with jigs costing less than a quarter of your $12 ones. Not here in the UK anyway.
@@tonycamplin8607 Haha maybe its different in the UK but same goes for everything in life (you get what you pay for). I've had ebay jigs prongs fall off on big squid, cloth doesn't last half as long, it doesn't sink at a productive angle, sometimes they fill with water. Anyway if they work for you then keep using em I say
@@NevsFishing Thanks for replying, it's much appreciated. Maybe I've been lucky, or you were unlucky, who knows? As you say if they work keep using them.

Where do u fish
I have a question fishing squid is better in winter or summer
Spring is the best season
Generally what wind speed do you look at when fishing there? Also if the current rips, do you use a sinker to get the jig down?
Any East or North wind is fine, i avoid anything with a west above 5 knots
There’s a pink rainbow rogue jig from bcf. I
Think it cost $5. I’ve caught 3 squid on it haha including my first ever squid and it was my biggest
Very good work
Great Vid mate.
Cheers brother
When you catch them what do you use them for food or bait ? I
Bit of both but mainly bait
Love ya vids man
Thanks heaps!
You inspire me so much to go out and catch fish

Hala crack, es posible subtitular en español los vídeos. Gracias y buena pesca.
awesome vid how much is the combo ur using
Around $450
I have a professional question for you: Why is a full moon not good for squid fishing ? Thanks in advance
I’m not sure, i’ve always just found that there is less activity on a full moon
I am from Vietnam and it is also generally accepted that full moon is crap for fishing. Most fishermen take a break when there's full moon.
I always go fishing when its a new moon u cant go wrong even if u r rookie
Nev's Fishing when there is a full moon. Fish Normally bite a lot more. Don’t know about squid tho
Where is this spot?
Phillip Island
Where is this place? I recognise it
A jetty just off Phillip Island
Nev's Fishing ahh I knew it! Thanks man! I fished for squid there once, caught a massive tiger squid!
Where are u based at?
Phillip island

Hi
Can we go squiding together
Yeh for sure, contact me on instagram or facebook via msg and tell me when yah go down next
Even your so called cheap jig seems to me to be extremely expensive. You can get them for a fraction of that on ebay and they work just as well.
Don’t work as well or last as long. Get what you pay for
