The TV series made Pennywise's weakness more clear. When they thought the clown was a werewolf, they attacked it with silver, which worked because the clown is bound by the rules of the shape it takes, and it's strongly influenced by how others see it. The more scared you are, the more power it has.
In the original, the children believed silver worked because of the horror movie they watched, which is really interesting

Must be hella strong on Halloween after horror movies, but hella weak at the norm.
The problem with everyone getting firearms is that they seem untrained, and in the house they may hit one another with crossfire. Or an illusion might trick them into sooting one another, or themselves. Melee weapons are best, since IT likes to come in close. If they do strike one another accidentally, the wounds are damage less likely to result in a fatality. Besides we know that it strengthens through fear, but has to come in close to do any damage or kill someone. 😊

I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. Shit 'em right up. Makes it look like we're serious. Guns for show, knives for a pro.

Wasn't it that Pennywise preys on anyone but it prefers children because of how much easier it is to instill fear in them? Since fear is like barbeque sauce for him haha.

Peenywise didn’t even have friends to play with.but the loser’s club had too beat Peenywise for saying that he was just a clown and pennywise died.
Its amazing how good they casted Eddie in both movies. Kid Eddie was a convincing Hypochondriac. Also Kid and Adult Eddie look so much alike that it is also convincing that I can see its Eddie all grown up. Are the actors related or something?
No but the film makers were already casting the adult actors while making the 1st chapter and they wanted all the kid and adult actors to resemble each other

It'd really funny if after bullying him down to be a little less than an equal physical match, one of them (preferably Bev imo) just threw straight hands with him like a street fight. His powers would be very weak cause of the 0 fear so he'd be forced to square up
also i love that good ol Stephen appeared in his own movie, reminded me of Stan Lee. Really shows how proud of his work he is and that he himself loves how it's been adapted to film
Nah have everyone start ganging on Pennywise like how bullies do, would be ironic for Pennywise to become the loser getting bullied. Plus it's a good group bonding activity to be curb stomping an eldritch monster together

Nothing says IT can't leave Derry, it just doesn't want to leave, it doesn't have to. I'd assume if the losers didn't return and let him live, he would've definitely come after them, otherwise why would he have asked them to come back when he could've just done his usual thing, IT was threatened, he wanted to take out the threat if he couldn't get the threat to come to him he would've come for them.
Peniswise isn't real he can't hurt you
Losers life is not too good even after they left Derry. Pennywise keep affect them for years. Stan kind of died, Bev had an abusive husband who beats her a lot, Eddie still lived with his mother. I don’t remember the rest but even if they left they still kind of kept living the same life they had before. Plus, they weren’t able to have kids even if they tried.
If you listened at the start he said it you do not it will come for you eventually
I don't know if I'd assume that pennywise attacking the young adults at the start as it getting stronger, rather that since it didn't get to feed properly last cycle it's getting desperate.
That or how others have said, normally it eats all the kids with the shining

Funny how some people said"all you got to do is bully him" yet in the book they used the ritual of chud and maturin was also helping them fighting it so it's not all because"they bullied him" to 💀. Another thing is people are also saying"it can only survive on fear" no it doesnt. Fear makes the meat"taste better" if he wanted to, he would've smoked all there packs.
That one guys secret was that he was gay. His sacrifice was Eddie dying because he loved him. So, pennywise basically completed the sacrifice for them without them realizing

The reason that the novel was so impactful and successful is because it's a "relatable" (as in people can identify with the characters' plights rather than the monster(s)) story that has an antagonist which is a manifestation of childhood trauma.
I keep watching these videos, taking mental notes on what i should do if i find myself in situations like these, but at the same time, i know that i would be begging for my death by minute 1

The ritual actually works, you see, they need an artifact that they value the most, Richie's artifact IS eddie, thats Richie's secret he likes eddie, he values him the most that's why when eddie dies pennywise kinda loss its power

i think IT eating adults means opposite since IT eating kids was because kids would feel more fear so tasted better so IT has grow weaker and probably wanted OG kids to return so that he would become more powerful or to end the survivors
Good theory
If I remember correctly the Steven Kings books share a universe and the losers basically have the shining. Their town also seems like some sort of farm for the shining with IT basically farming them.
It's why the concentration of shining holders is so high and yet the shining vampires can't find it because IT is protecting the town? The vampires don't seem to even be aware of the town or they would have probably eaten everyone already.
It also shares possible connections with how in the shining, people with a little bit of shining like the father would be controlled by evil forces, enough of it any they can resist or fight back like Danny while people without any would be unaffected until the evil reached it's highest power like how the mother didn't see anything until the climax. Possibly why Beth's father was one of the psychopathic adults while Beth was one of the losers. Their bully also likely had a bit but not enough to resist.
Since the concept of multiple characters over various books having the Shining was pointed out to me, I'm starting to see it in almost everyone of his books (though, admittedly, I haven't read very many of them, I'm not the biggest fan of his work). I kinda wish they'd acknowledge it a little more, because it would make a lot of confusing "how did they do that?" make more sense. But on that line....um, shining vampires? O.o What's the lore behind that?
There’s also a secondary theory that IT is the villain in nearly every book, simply taking other forms. The Windigo in Pet Semetery, Christine, Kujo, all the Ghosts in The Shining, Etc…

All those encounters are essentially a mental projection of himself.
The kids are pretty much fighting a mental ghost.
The real pennywise lives in the macroverse, a creature most likely bigger than earth itself. Made of rotting lights.
The only possibly way of killing pennywise is another cosmic being like Maturin the cosmic turtle.
But there's also a chance that pennywise could over power Maturin.
Beating pennywise is like trying to fight a lovecraftian outer God.
You can destroy those mental projections but he will be back in a few years. Even after IT chapter 2 he returns in dreamcatcher

The part with the spider… they didn’t kick it right away because it was Stan’s face if I remember correctly. Also, they barely remember anything in detail still so it’s harder for them to anticipate what Pennywise will do (and funnier for Pennywise to use their memories like that)

It is thought that Eddie was actual Richie token and that’s why the only reason their bullying worked is because finally all the tokens were destroyed and the ritual of chad was finally complete. (Game theory)
Its not through their words that they defeated pennywise, Its that they overcame their fears. Pennywise mostly hunts on kids because they have a fear of clowns or some sort. I think pennywise was proud because his last words were "look at you, your all grown up"
