@@FMecha The first Gran Turismo game's Japanese version is very broken. With a 4WD car you can slam against the walls to drive at 600+ km/h speeds. Nobody has done a full-game TAS with this technique, but there are some individual stages vids out there.
I remember as a kid I would spam those star bombs together, get a jump power up and nearly glitch the game shooting to outer space. Always played Raptor and Raptor xD
Some games it's just optimal. Ed, Edd, and Eddy Cul de Sac Smash II: Wheels of Fury, for example, puts your engine at the front, so if you get hit enough, your engine gets damaged and you don't accelerate as fast. If you drive backwards, though, that doesn't happen quite as much. Your cart body might be dark yellow or red damage-wise, but the engine still a pristine green and nimble as ever.

The precursor to Gran Turismo! This game also had a simulation minigame with a nascar and an F1 car.
