I have never seen Womens Traditional that way. Maybe because I’m for the other side of the mountain??? Or so I was told. Not only that, the 2nd song threw me off. I apologize, I was raised danced different

In my way of thinking, the drum should know what type of dancers are on the floor and should be drumming for the appropriate category. The MC, I had to stop watching because this is triggering!
This is a southern appliqué song and I don’t see many appliqué dancers in that arena. Many of these beautiful women are wearing heavy regalia and it can be heard to dance a certain style you don’t know. The mc sounded very rude.
The whole reason of contest pow wows is you're dancing for money. When you travel to another place it is your job to know the dances. Original way you would of been disqualified for it.
I'm a native dummy German. I have seen alot of pow wow vids on youtube. And I must say what is most fascinating for me is that all the dresses women or men look totally different from each other. Stunning!

This MC is disrespectful to the women. It’s disheartening to see him mansplain a dance that isn’t even his. How disheartening and disgraceful to see the life givers being spoken to in such manner.

Thats the whole point of a contest pow wow you have to be ready and know the dances, otherwise stick to the traditional pow wows.
