When characters are fighting at such speeds, inside their "bubble of perception" it's a normal battle. The difference is seen from the outside, where it might pass just one second but in their world it's like whole minutes. They build time inside time, extend their realities. From said perspective, imagine how many days (or weeks) Luffy had to endure fighting Katakuri for 10 normal hours... Terrifying!

When it comes to reactionary speed and combat speed they can be considered faster than light speed or at the very least move at relativistic speeds(speeds comparable to light). I myself wouldn't consider pre timeskip luffy to be faster than light seeing as how Kizaru called him too slow. Not too mention Foxy is an outlier because without the aid of a black hole or gravity light itself can't bend. So I would consider luffy zoro and sanji relativistic at best pretimeskip and based on power scaling they would be faster than light.

I disagree with the Gear 2nd multiplier. Fishmen who are natural human-animal hybrids are on average 10 times more powerful than humans from birth, so I don't see why regular Zoans wouldn't also be 10 times more powerful as in 10 times faster, stronger, more agile etc. than their human counterpart. Which would put Gear 2nd Luffy at a speed 50 times greater, while Nightmare Luffy is a 100 times multiplier when it comes to power and Gear 3rd seems to be somewhat on par with it. So it would make sense for Gear 2nd to be 50x multiplier in speed and Gear 3rd 100x multiplier in strength. Also, about Gear 4th I don't know if it's a mistranslation but I've seen Doflamingo say it increased Luffy's elasticity by 10 fold. So Gear 4th would be 10 times faster than Gear 2nd or 500 times faster than base Luffy.

I think that at base, if you have the pika pika no mi the beams are lightspeed, even if you as a character aren't anywhere near it. But seeing as other fruits can have attacks that match the speed of the user, it wouldn't be a stretch to say the pika pika no mi can as well. So the fruit doesn't have a speed limit of light, it has a minimum speed of light.

This video is hard cap, and I'm saying this as a mega OP fan. All what you did is stacking calcs and use power up multipliers (most of them out of context). As you can see from this video, the VSbattles communities immediately disregard calc stacking because of how inflated the results can be. You also used non-canon feats from the 3D2Y filler. Also, using the shonen trope of disappearing from sight is a bad source feat to try and calc because it is highly inconsistent.

Bro, the slow slow beam is obviously not light speed. First of all, Luffy can see the beam before it reaches him; that's how he dodges it. The fact that he can see it means that the beam itself emits photons that move more quickly than the beam. And secondly, NAMI dodges the slow slow beam. Don't tell me y'all think she's light-speed too? Just think for a second. Luffy can fly with gear 4. If he's light speed, that's basically teleportation. He can go anywhere in the world in less than a second. If a writer intends a character to be light speed, that sort of thing would be made narratively obvious. It would manifest in obvious ways, in fights as well as in the characters' day-to-day lives. Not to mention all this is clearly CONTRADICTED by the narrative. Luffy ran across Marineford for MINUTES on his way to save Ace. It took him MINUTES to run across Enies Lobby. It took HOURS for him to navigate Impel down. Light is fast enough to circumvent the earth 7.5 times in a single second. All these things should have been damn near-instantaneous. They weren't because he's just not built like that. I don't see how anyone could watch or read this series and possibly think he's supposed to be light speed.

Let's say you have to move your head 6 inches to the right in order to dodge the ball. That means you have 0.51 seconds to move your head 6 inches. Moving your head 6 inches in 0.51 seconds requires that you move your head at only 0.66 mph. Nowhere near 80 mph. So you don't have to move at the same speed because your head doesn't have to travel the same distance. If you didn't know, speed is defined as distance/time. So, the smaller the distance, the lower the speed. No human can move any part of their body at 80 mph. So that's another big problem with this analysis. EVEN IF the slow-slow beam were lightspeed (it isn't), that wouldn't imply that Luffy is moving at light speed when he dodges it. The beam has to travel a lot farther than Luffy does, so at best this feat would put him *near* light speed. But somehow they concluded that he would be moving 1.23x faster than light speed.

Anyways your right about the slow-slow beam but after the timeskip it is shown that Luffy is at least lightspeed in terms of dodging speed as he is clearly shown to have dodged a laser beam shot at his head. In this feat Luffy waited for the beam to reach him before dodging it. And we can tell it was light speed as it was basically copied off of Kizaru's laser beam kick which was light speed.

Even in East Blue both Zoro & Luffy were FTL by feats alone, SethTheProgrammer calculated it but that's only attack speed not movement speed same with G4 Snake-man were he's attack speed is the only thing that increases. G4 isn't G3 + G2 it's a muscle balloon technique, G3 Bone Balloon & G2 Special Protein Blood Rush which increases his metal speed too. G4 Snake-man is not +G2 added because his movement speed doesn't increase by much. Also the movie versions of Luffy are completely different in power, they aren't canon to the main story. Dragon Ball movies are canon, same with Naruto's the last like I'm pretty sure, don't know about the rest most aren't. Also the photon beam was super slow in the anime, L. Luffy in East Blue pre gears was around 10s FTL. Luffy in Grand Line base no haki is around 1000s FTL in attack speed, +vision haki 10Ks to 100Ks FTL in reflexes/reaction speed. G2 Luffy East Blue was 100s possibly 1000s FTL in Emotional Jet Gatling Gun. G2 Luffy Grand Line is 10Ks to 100Ks FTL in attack speed, +/× vision haki could reach millions to 10Ms FTL in reflexes/reaction speed. G3 Luffy East Blue is relatively the same as his base speed. G3 Luffy Grand Line is several times faster than base possible 10s of times at 10Ks FTL in attack speed. I think it comes down to setting; One Piece is still regulated to one planet, where realistically FTL speed would be incredibly advantageous. DBZ, Bleach, and Naruto expanded their settings beyond their worlds into different planets or space times all together, covering these distances would make FTL scaling for these characters far more acceptable by normies.

I've got a guy I'm arguing with that is trying to say that Luffy can keep up with Goku. He even used this video as proof that he's right. Personally, I would never even compare Luffy and Goku, as they are just in very separate tiers. I provided many different calculations for his speed because I believe that the more information to chose from the better. Now, I don’t know much about modern Goku, but I imagine that there are many ways to calculate his speed that would yield a result far greater speed than what I calculated for Luffy. (Kinetic Energy, faster than eyesight calculations, etc). So, I hope that I helped is some way. I’ll also think about doing an old school DB video. It’s been awhile since I read it (never finished it) but there are a few things that have stuck in my brain.

The Gear Multiplier method is mostly composed of Calc Stacking, which leads to obvious Outliers, so we can take that out of the way. Not only that, Douriki only calculated physical power, so it should NOT scale to speed. Same with Gear Fourth, which is again, said to multiply his **attacking** power by three. ~8129c just doesn't work in the narrative at all, considering most feats from Supernovas and people that are G4 Level are between 0.10-0.71c.
1) Douriki is overall assessment of physical ability of a marine soldier. If u want claim some bullshit like -it is only about power then u need to bring proof. 2) it isn't calc stacking and common use of multipliers through given info. Goku's speed is in few Sextillion and Septillion times of c , just because of multipliers. (Which according to u shud be calc stacking 🥴) 3) no one ever fking said that gear 4 multiplies attack power by 3. U just pulled it out of ur ass. He has multiple, if you calc stack like this guy you can get him to millions plus, if you use the databook stating, raikage moves at like light speed or light speed, then that should be around a Kages speed, gai in 8 gates is stated to be up to 100 times more powerful then the 5 kage, or 500times a kage, and if a kage is light like speed, then guy is 500x faster than light, if you use the fact haku is stated to be light speed, and him being a jonin means jonin level speed could be argued to be light speed, and akatsuki are stated to be able to compare to 1000 shinobi (most likely referring to jonin) and kage are relative to akatsuki, meaning kage scale 1000x light speed, and applying 8 gates gai’s multiplier he’s around 500,000x light speed, and most top tiers in naruto are around his speed. There are a bunch of calcs that can make naruto way fast, and if you add me on disc-Husk#2424 I can show you some of them.

Not to mention that just because we can see it move does not mean that it’s not moving at light speed. While, one time, he might have fire it before the cannon was fired, there are many other times that he did it after. If, because we can see them, they are not light, was the case, no one would be able to watch any DBZ fight. It just means that we are viewing it at high speeds. Kuma has stated that they are being reflected and shot at the speed of light. This should at least make him relativistic. Specially when the monster trio at peak power during pretimeskip were dodging Pacifista lasers. Vegapunk is a genius, and it would be no stretch of the imagination to say that he replicated Kizaru's devil fruit to a teeth. If not faster than light, you can put them at relativistic in peak power. Now for Kizaru, it is said that he can travel at the speed of light, but this must apply to his natural speed. He can casually move at the speed of light. This does not mean that he caps at lightspeed. Not to mention how combat speed and travel speed are entirely different. Kizaru still has the best travel in the series, no doubt. This would automatically amp his combat and reaction. But characters who have shown great combat and reaction don't have travel speed near that level. Plus, this is an adventure, it would kinda be ruined like that. But basically the Usain Bolt ve Bruce Lee arguement. Also X-Drake literally saw Kizaru's leg inches away from his face but could ultimately just watch. Same with Hawkins. But since Luffy is relativistic at the end of previous timeskip, via powescaling, he's faster than light. While Boa and Foxy's beam are the baseline of light speed, Kizaru is still better in every category. His devil fruit allows him to become light, to attack at light, to move at light and react at light. He trained himself to a point to move much faster than his fruit's speed. Another way you could look at is that his speed stacks upon his devil thus making him faster than all. Hope that helped.

However, we know that simple canons can destroy such ships, therefore, simple canons in one piece somehow hit with more than infinite energy. sounds reasonable to me.
You know, in most shounen there is a character who is at least hypersonic. And those characters still spend time traveling from point A to B. Superman doesn't just speedblitz everything. Suspension of disbelief my guy. We know these characters can move at speeds that break physics and would make travel time a joke. We ignore that so we can have actual stories that don't involve immediately teleporting to the next location every second. This criticism isn't unique to one piece or even anime. It applies to every media that has characters that can move at hypersonic or relativistic speeds. So yes, the planet isn't destroyed every time someone moves at lightspeed. Yes, we don't have to see luffy and kaido's dingalings flying around at 382910 c because their clothes are invincible to their speed. Yes the air around them doesn't become a plasma from the speed. Yes we actually have a journey on a boat even though they could dust the boat a million times in a race before the boat moves a cm.

Before I found this channel I was one of the people who thought that Luffy was island level and massively hypersonic at best (which isn’t weak or anything, it’s just NOTHING compared to this). But the more I watch your videos, the more I realise what an absolute monster this kid is.
Base(including Gear 2nd and 3rd): Multi - Continental + - Moon + Gear 4th: Small Planet+ Speed: FTL + Edit: Would this be accurate? Cause we don't know the accurate multipliers of the gears.
So here's the scale. Oars was considered a Continent puller, making him Continental Level. Then you have Nightmare Luffy, who overpowered Oars making him Continental Level as well. Post Time skip Luffy in base had the power to surpass Oars as he would have surpassed Nightmare Luffy which would make Continental Level +. There’s even Doflamingo who fodderized Oars Jr., a much stronger version of Oars. Doffy would easily be Continental Level +. Luffy fought with him in base and was doing relatively well. This would put Luffy at Continental Level +. Now for the multipliers: G2: 5x multiplier(Rob Lucci had a doriki of 4 thousand while Luffy had one of 820. Gear 2nd overpowered Lucci. So if you go at it like this: 4000/820 = 4.8 or 5. That G2 is at least by that much.) G3: 5.5x multiplier or 1.1x stronger than G3( Not too weak, not too strong) G4: G2 + G3 * 10 or 105x multiplier G2+G3 has happened in the story which is why I included it. Basically G4 incorporated elements of both forms and they were both used against Doffy in their fight. This was when he said that his power increased tenfold or 10x. Keeping this in mind, with Luffy being Continental + ( which would be 3 Petatons) in base, by G4 he would be Multi-Continental Level(or 315 Petatons). Like with Katakuri, he grew much stronger than his previous Boundman as he was doing more damage to him in base. So say that Luffy is capable of 315 Petatons in base. Adding the 105x multiplier, he would be capable of 33,075 Petatons or 33.075 Exatons in G4 or Moon Level. Same logic is applied in Wano as he would’ve surpassed his G4 self in WCI in his base. This would mean that those 33.075 Exatons (for base power), would be 3472.875 Exatons or 3.472875 Zettatons of Force. This would Small Planet Level for G4.

luffy is not light speed. reality works different in one piece. if you say he can dodge fotons therefore hes beyond light that wouldnt work because if were comparing to our reality before you are then luffy wouldnt be able to see this so that arguement doesnt work he more consistently scales to hypersonic when you take him dodging lightning and put it through gear multipliers
dodge light beam doesn't make him light speed, but Ichiji has already dodged his own light leisures, and Katakuri blitzed him, and Luffy G4 snakeman is equal to Katakuri

Enel panicking or dealing with randomized hits from Luffy) Luffy was the faster opponent. Later in the fight he kicks away a lightning bolt to protect Nami (which is consistent with even Nami and Ussop being able to dodge lightning from Enel), and at the fights conclusion Luffy tags Enel with the gold ball, the latter considering the punch to be too fast to dodge.

When characters are fighting at such speeds, inside their "bubble of perception" it's a normal battle. The difference is seen from the outside, where it might pass just one second but in their world it's like whole minutes. They build time inside time, extend their realities. From said perspective, imagine how many days (or weeks) Luffy had to endure fighting Katakuri for 10 normal hours... Terrifying!

When it comes to reactionary speed and combat speed they can be considered faster than light speed or at the very least move at relativistic speeds(speeds comparable to light). I myself wouldn't consider pre timeskip luffy to be faster than light seeing as how Kizaru called him too slow. Not too mention Foxy is an outlier because without the aid of a black hole or gravity light itself can't bend. So I would consider luffy zoro and sanji relativistic at best pretimeskip and based on power scaling they would be faster than light.

I disagree with the Gear 2nd multiplier.
Fishmen who are natural human-animal hybrids are on average 10 times more powerful than humans from birth, so I don't see why regular Zoans wouldn't also be 10 times more powerful as in 10 times faster, stronger, more agile etc. than their human counterpart.
Which would put Gear 2nd Luffy at a speed 50 times greater, while Nightmare Luffy is a 100 times multiplier when it comes to power and Gear 3rd seems to be somewhat on par with it.
So it would make sense for Gear 2nd to be 50x multiplier in speed and Gear 3rd 100x multiplier in strength.
Also, about Gear 4th I don't know if it's a mistranslation but I've seen Doflamingo say it increased Luffy's elasticity by 10 fold.
So Gear 4th would be 10 times faster than Gear 2nd or 500 times faster than base Luffy.

I think that at base, if you have the pika pika no mi the beams are lightspeed, even if you as a character aren't anywhere near it. But seeing as other fruits can have attacks that match the speed of the user, it wouldn't be a stretch to say the pika pika no mi can as well.
So the fruit doesn't have a speed limit of light, it has a minimum speed of light.

This video is hard cap, and I'm saying this as a mega OP fan. All what you did is stacking calcs and use power up multipliers (most of them out of context). As you can see from this video, the VSbattles communities immediately disregard calc stacking because of how inflated the results can be. You also used non-canon feats from the 3D2Y filler. Also, using the shonen trope of disappearing from sight is a bad source feat to try and calc because it is highly inconsistent.

The best feat Luffy has is dodging the Pacifista lasers. Pacifistas use Kizaru's lasers. Kizaru has been debunked from lightspeed on several occasions. The lasers Luffy dodged do not travel at the speed of light.

Bro, the slow slow beam is obviously not light speed. First of all, Luffy can see the beam before it reaches him; that's how he dodges it. The fact that he can see it means that the beam itself emits photons that move more quickly than the beam. And secondly, NAMI dodges the slow slow beam. Don't tell me y'all think she's light-speed too?
Just think for a second. Luffy can fly with gear 4. If he's light speed, that's basically teleportation. He can go anywhere in the world in less than a second. If a writer intends a character to be light speed, that sort of thing would be made narratively obvious. It would manifest in obvious ways, in fights as well as in the characters' day-to-day lives.
Not to mention all this is clearly CONTRADICTED by the narrative. Luffy ran across Marineford for MINUTES on his way to save Ace. It took him MINUTES to run across Enies Lobby. It took HOURS for him to navigate Impel down. Light is fast enough to circumvent the earth 7.5 times in a single second. All these things should have been damn near-instantaneous. They weren't because he's just not built like that.
I don't see how anyone could watch or read this series and possibly think he's supposed to be light speed.

Let's say you have to move your head 6 inches to the right in order to dodge the ball. That means you have 0.51 seconds to move your head 6 inches. Moving your head 6 inches in 0.51 seconds requires that you move your head at only 0.66 mph. Nowhere near 80 mph.
So you don't have to move at the same speed because your head doesn't have to travel the same distance. If you didn't know, speed is defined as distance/time. So, the smaller the distance, the lower the speed. No human can move any part of their body at 80 mph.
So that's another big problem with this analysis. EVEN IF the slow-slow beam were lightspeed (it isn't), that wouldn't imply that Luffy is moving at light speed when he dodges it. The beam has to travel a lot farther than Luffy does, so at best this feat would put him *near* light speed. But somehow they concluded that he would be moving 1.23x faster than light speed.

Anyways your right about the slow-slow beam but after the timeskip it is shown that Luffy is at least lightspeed in terms of dodging speed as he is clearly shown to have dodged a laser beam shot at his head. In this feat Luffy waited for the beam to reach him before dodging it. And we can tell it was light speed as it was basically copied off of Kizaru's laser beam kick which was light speed.
It's not that hard to prove. Hell, Zoro did it when he dodged Kuma's pad cannons, which are literally described as air being repelled at the speed of light, in both the anime *and* manga. Denying this is kinda stupid and goes against writer intent.

I think it comes down to setting; One Piece is still regulated to one planet, where realistically FTL speed would be incredibly advantageous. DBZ, Bleach, and Naruto expanded their settings beyond their worlds into different planets or space times all together, covering these distances would make FTL scaling for these characters far more acceptable by normies.

Personally, I would never even compare Luffy and Goku, as they are just in very separate tiers. I provided many different calculations for his speed because I believe that the more information to chose from the better. Now, I don’t know much about modern Goku, but I imagine that there are many ways to calculate his speed that would yield a result far greater speed than what I calculated for Luffy. (Kinetic Energy, faster than eyesight calculations, etc). So, I hope that I helped is some way. I’ll also think about doing an old school DB video. It’s been awhile since I read it (never finished it) but there are a few things that have stuck in my brain.

The Gear Multiplier method is mostly composed of Calc Stacking, which leads to obvious Outliers, so we can take that out of the way. Not only that, Douriki only calculated physical power, so it should NOT scale to speed. Same with Gear Fourth, which is again, said to multiply his **attacking** power by three.

He has multiple, if you calc stack like this guy you can get him to millions plus, if you use the databook stating, raikage moves at like light speed or light speed, then that should be around a Kages speed, gai in 8 gates is stated to be up to 100 times more powerful then the 5 kage, or 500times a kage, and if a kage is light like speed, then guy is 500x faster than light, if you use the fact haku is stated to be light speed, and him being a jonin means jonin level speed could be argued to be light speed, and akatsuki are stated to be able to compare to 1000 shinobi (most likely referring to jonin) and kage are relative to akatsuki, meaning kage scale 1000x light speed, and applying 8 gates gai’s multiplier he’s around 500,000x light speed, and most top tiers in naruto are around his speed. There are a bunch of calcs that can make naruto way fast, and if you add me on disc-Husk#2424 I can show you some of them.

Not to mention that just because we can see it move does not mean that it’s not moving at light speed. While, one time, he might have fire it before the cannon was fired, there are many other times that he did it after. Not to mention that guns in One Piece are far more deadly than regular guns (They hurt Whitebeard). If, because we can see them, they are not light, was the case, no one would be able to watch any DBZ fight. It just means that we are viewing it at high speeds.

Kuma has stated that they are being reflected and shot at the speed of light. This should at least make him relativistic. Specially when the monster trio at peak power during pretimeskip were dodging Pacifista lasers. Vegapunk is a genius, and it would be no stretch of the imagination to say that he replicated Kizaru's devil fruit to a teeth. If not faster than light, you can put them at relativistic in peak power. Now for Kizaru, it is said that he can travel at the speed of light, but this must apply to his natural speed. He can casually move at the speed of light. This does not mean that he caps at lightspeed. Not to mention how combat speed and travel speed are entirely different. Kizaru still has the best travel in the series, no doubt. This would automatically amp his combat and reaction. But characters who have shown great combat and reaction don't have travel speed near that level. Plus, this is an adventure, it would kinda be ruined like that. But basically the Usain Bolt ve Bruce Lee arguement. Also X-Drake literally saw Kizaru's leg inches away from his face but could ultimately just watch. Same with Hawkins. But since Luffy is relativistic at the end of previous timeskip, via powescaling, he's faster than light. While Boa and Foxy's beam are the baseline of light speed, Kizaru is still better in every category. His devil fruit allows him to become light, to attack at light, to move at light and react at light. He trained himself to a point to move much faster than his fruit's speed. Another way you could look at is that his speed stacks upon his devil thus making him faster than all. Hope that helped.

This is irrelevant, the distance he crossed is immensely below the photons crossed, which was calculated to be 2% of the Speed of Light, High End MHS+, or Low End Sub-Rel.

You know, in most shounen there is a character who is at least hypersonic. And those characters still spend time traveling from point A to B. Superman doesn't just speedblitz everything. Suspension of disbelief my guy. We know these characters can move at speeds that break physics and would make travel time a joke. We ignore that so we can have actual stories that don't involve immediately teleporting to the next location every second. This criticism isn't unique to one piece or even anime. It applies to every media that has characters that can move at hypersonic or relativistic speeds.
So yes, the planet isn't destroyed every time someone moves at lightspeed. Yes, we don't have to see luffy and kaido's dingalings flying around at 382910 c because their clothes are invincible to their speed. Yes the air around them doesn't become a plasma from the speed. Yes we actually have a journey on a boat even though they could dust the boat a million times in a race before the boat moves a cm.

Kizaru’s speed isn’t limited to his fruit’s powers, Luffy was nerfed at Marineford by a number of factors.

We never actually saw how Enel took down Sanji, he got offscreened.
Enel’s first attack on Zoro was grabbing his swords and electrocuting him through the blades (doesn’t electricity travel faster through conductive material?), so Zoro had to contend with Enel’s natural reflexes. It’s only after this first attack that Enel can tag Zoro with a follow up lightning bolt, since Zoro was obviously weakened from the first shock.
Big Mom’s fighting style revolves around tanking attacks over attempting to dodge them, and beyond that any lightning controlled by Zeus should be faster than natural lightning (he can change directions, tag characters with provable FTL feats and later another cloud homie (Hera) could produce lightspeed attacks in conjunction with Big Mom, Prometheus, and Napoleon).
I should probably mention that mass increases with speed(velocity). So if this was true then his fists would reach infinite mass and Luffy would be opening black holes in people's faces. So here's the scale.
Oars was considered a Continent puller, making him Continental Level. Then you have Nightmare Luffy, who overpowered Oars making him Continental Level as well. Post Time skip Luffy in base had the power to surpass Oars as he would have surpassed Nightmare Luffy which would make Continental Level +. There’s even Doflamingo who fodderized Oars Jr., a much stronger version of Oars. Doffy would easily be Continental Level +. Luffy fought with him in base and was doing relatively well. This would put Luffy at Continental Level +. Now for the multipliers:
G2: 5x multiplier(Rob Lucci had a doriki of 4 thousand while Luffy had one of 820. Gear 2nd overpowered Lucci. So if you go at it like this: 4000/820 = 4.8 or 5. That G2 is at least by that much.)
G3: 5.5x multiplier or 1.1x stronger than G3( Not too weak, not too strong)
G4: G2 + G3 * 10 or 105x multiplier
G2+G3 has happened in the story which is why I included it. Basically G4 incorporated elements of both forms and they were both used against Doffy in their fight. This was when he said that his power increased tenfold or 10x.
Keeping this in mind, with Luffy being Continental + ( which would be 3 Petatons) in base, by G4 he would be Multi-Continental Level(or 315 Petatons). Like with Katakuri, he grew much stronger than his previous Boundman as he was doing more damage to him in base. So say that Luffy is capable of 315 Petatons in base. Adding the 105x multiplier, he would be capable of 33,075 Petatons or 33.075 Exatons in G4 or Moon Level. Same logic is applied in Wano as he would’ve surpassed his G4 self in WCI in his base. This would mean that those 33.075 Exatons (for base power), would be 3472.875 Exatons or 3.472875 Zettatons of Force. This would Small Planet Level for G4.

1) Luffy fights Foxy after he fights Enel, so there’s no inconsistency with Luffy being faster in the following arc.
2) Luffy was struggling with Enel because of the latter’s observation Haki, when it wasn’t a factor (ie. Enel panicking or dealing with randomized hits from Luffy) Luffy was the faster opponent. Later in the fight he kicks away a lightning bolt to protect Nami (which is consistent with even Nami and Ussop being able to dodge lightning from Enel), and at the fights conclusion Luffy tags Enel with the gold ball, the latter considering the punch to be too fast to dodge.
