Music video by Weezer performing The Good Life. (C) 2004 Geffen Records Inc. - เพลง
I Love how Mat and Pat weren't serious at all but Rivers and Brian were serious as hell
LESQUIGGLE シ yeah it's suppose to represent their feelings at the time their eventual break up
MattPat
But that’s just a theory, A Weezer theory!
I guess they were already living the good life
I feel like it's really hard to smile and act goofy while expressing lyrics that come from the heart.

Pinkerton did not deserve to be overlooked the way it was.
Well, at least we can enjoy it 🤷🏽♀️
Well, I wasn't much into Weezer back when it was released but I listened to it recently and I think it's one of their best albums
The weezer fanbase acknowledge it as their best album
Pinkerton was really good. imo
I would go as far to say Pinkerton is their only good album

Probably

@@legsalad4088 oo sorry thanks though
Hope it doesn't happen *again*
Probably, but fuck I wanna see them LIVE!
best weezer song imo, I don't understand how people hated pinkerton for being too 'personal'
Fr that's what makes it so great. Many say their lyrics are not much relatable cause it's Rivers perspective or some shit like that. I resonate with many of the songs, and it's really great to know how he felt during those years
I love how weezer never make an attempt to look like they're actually playing the song in these music videos
At least Rivers and Brian
One of the many reasons matt sharp left, Rivers was trying to be more serious and its really obvious in this video.
@@bargun5889fr, Rivers wanted to be more like Nirvana. But ngl, they had such a fun vibe.
@@damsel4444 His music was treated as a joke. The music that was from his own experience and emotions, and then he released pinkerton which was even more of his emotions and it was treated like a bigger joke. He didn't just wanna be like nirvana.
I think Pat secretly hates playing the drums, and he never plays the same thing twice 😂
isn't it amazing that weezer is still making music after over 100 years of being an active band

Well said ❤
I miss the playfulness of pinkerton. backing vocals on almost every track had some kind of "dicking off element to it" its what pinkerton really stands out for.
wasn't Pinkerton the last name of the main character in the wall
Yes, Floyd "Pink" Pinkerton :)
its madame butterfly
Noah Baldwin it's also a security company and the protagonist of the opera "madame butterfly" which rivers drew inspiration from

I love the playful feeling, yet its so real and the emotions are so raw, going through almost no filter. Even if you cant relate to the particular song the vibe and emotion it gives can be felt by everyone
completely agreed. the song itself I don't quite love, and the music video I mostly dislike, however the feel it has reaches me. The line of "shaking booty making sweet love all the night", that's not a line I would often like, but here it carries much more meaning, and that's what's important
@@angelmarques3124 i've always interpreted that as a more tongue-in cheek line
I had stolen a car in Watch_Dogs when this song came on the radio. I remember thinking: "Finally. A song I can sing to in this game"
This was in Watch_Dogs!?
In the first one, yes.
I played the first game but I don't remember hearing this song lol

You clearly never heard "move on up" in the game. It's a legendary track made even better by stealing a fire engine and storming through Chicago with it blaring. Also half of the song in a sax solo and it's killer
Man that crazy solo at 2:26 and then the breakdown at 2:40. Definitely two of my favourite parts of any song.

A song that really resonates in my heart. This describes my life perfectly now and how I have felt for the past 2 years. "Cause everything I need is denied me, and everything I want is taken away from me. But who do I got to blame? Nobody but me."

Still don't understand how this album was so unloved in the beginning. In 96-97 I was a senior in high school and it seemed like I was the only guy that had and listened to this CD, and people kept coming by my room to get a better listen to the tracks I was listening to from this album because they loved Weezer's blue album.
For years I was under the impression that Pinkerton was my own secret album Weezer wrote just for me. lol No idea that other people even listened to this album let alone that it would one day become widely known as the best album they ever wrote.

Yeah I thought they weren't popular at all
you're old. i'm sorry.

Lol no he's not. He's a 90's kid. A true 90's kid, and not a person who was born in like '99 and calls them self a 90's kid, lol. Weezer is new as hell compared to the rock that was popular when my parents were young, lmao.
That breakdown at 2:42-3:00 is my ringtone.
How can I put the "breakdown" from buddy holly as my notification sound?
if you like that part of the song you should listen to homewrecker by vic mensa, it’s a different genre of music but it sounds good (:

The sound of Pinkerton is something else, the blue album is a masterpiece of the 90’s but Pinkerton is a milestone in alternative rock
when weezer concerts come back this has gotta be the first song they play. so fitting for post quarantine

It blows mind that Pinkerton wasn't better received back in the day. I was about 17 when this came out. I cut my teeth on the blue album. When I listened to Pinkerton, it spoke to my soul. Damn shame it took so long for it to be appreciated.

Matt and Patrick: *haha maraca go brr*
This song hit me a little too hard driving around in Watch Dogs 1! i was crying my eyes out! but i think i needed that....sometimes we hide how we're feeling & dont let how we're actually feeling hit our exterior, but instead just attempt to escape through our games we play...rest in peace mom🕊 i know these tears aren't what you want to see...but The Good Life with you is where i'll forever be.. #thankyouweezer #iloveyouallaswell #pushforward #bestrong
Is it just me or are Patrick and Matt the only ones ever goofing around
Yes in one part they switch instruments
yeah, but that created a dynamic because rivers wanted the band to be more serious and mature than the way they came across in some videos, it’s probably one of the many reasons tension between matt and rivers built
This funky tf2 youtuber is one of the reasons why I'm back on the track

I love Weezer, listened to the Blue album over a million times. But, Weezer to me is with Matt Sharp. The replacement bass players have been great too, but Matt brings the original Weezer sound to me.
He added way more than people think to the og weezer sound. Check out the 1994 'That's Incredible!' demo by The Rentals. It's like a sibling of the blue album.

Pinkerton is their best album, I just love everything about it, the way it was produced, the songwriting, the lyrics, and the darkness of it, fucking 10/10
I havent heard this in almost 6 years and finding it again made me shed a tear of joy
I love this along with the rest of Pinkerton. It's like a combination of punchy abrasive instrumentals and wistful melancholy melodies and lyrics.
