Awesome video, 👍🏻 👍🏻. One of the biggest highlights of my enlistment in the Army, was being two doors down from Mr Durant in Col Blanchfield hospital at Ft Campbell, Ky while he recovered from his injuries. I was 20 years old and had only been in the Army for two years. I was an AH-64 Armament/Electrical sys repairman. However, I was just in a regular unit, within the 101st. I had a minor surgery mid October of ‘93. While recovering, the med team wanted me to walk the hospital floor a lot. On my first venture out, I noticed a uniformed member of the 160th SOAR guarding a room two doors down. This was obviously”pre hippa”. I asked the nurse and she said it was Mr Durant (the patient). So for me, that was like superman was in that room. He had a guard on his room 24/7. It was so cool to see. When his unit returned ( maybe a week later), they brought Mr Durant from the hospital on an ambulance, to Campbell Army Airfield on a stretcher, so he could welcome his brothers home. Lee Greenwood was in the crowd and promptly began singing his “American” song. He walked over to Mr Durant and raised their arms as he sang. My Dad, captured this moment on a 35mm pic that I have still today! One of the neatest, coolest, events of my life! I thank the men and now women of the 160th for their service! Mr Durant, I would still like to get a copy of those pics to you. 🇺🇸
My buddy in my first corporate job was a 31C on the command and control bird and was not shown in the book or movie. He never spoke much about it but he did say a a lot: NSDQ
Hey Mike. I’m glad to see your doing well and I miss working at Pinnacle. I hope you don’t give up on pursuing a political career, you have my vote. Blue skies.. Dana L.
I’m the same age as CWO Durant, and I enlisted in the USMC in 1981, and retired 2012. I was promoted from Sergeant to CWO3, and later Captain through LtCol. We experienced the same era and operational challenges, and I have been a life long Republican. I applaud this great American hero and would support his moderate conservative political aspirations. However, I cannot understand his support for a former president, and former Democrat-draft dodger, who has such disdain for the military and the USA law and order spirit. How about his treatment of Senator John McCain? Trump recently claimed in court that he was not an officer of the United States sworn to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I don’t think this will fly at his trail for insurrection. Why, I will never understand, that good men like CWO Durant supported such a seditious creature who stole national security TS-SCI documents. Why?

I really appreciate that! I just gotta keep grinding.
Incredible story, great interview. With how popular the book and movie BHD is, this warrants way more views!
I agree! I'm humbled that he took the time to talk to me.

Crypto analyst jobs are a pretty good way in to federal service if you're good at languages and don't want to pay for college.
It seems like a cool and interesting opportunity
