For those looking to improve their listening skills ("softening the ear", as we use to say), a fluid, neutral accent and perfect speech narrator was the late Peter Thomas, who can be listened to in many documentaries, like Forensic Files and Medical Detectives here in TH-cam. Those are 20-minute episodes including testimonials from people of different places in the USA, so the listener can hear the difference between an elegantly-spoken narration and the casual, almost slangy speech of ordinary people. Excuse me Gabbie, if this draws some traffic away from your channel, I really think it wouldn't, tho...

If I had had many classes like this in my childhood I would be more fluent in my speaking, today's video has been amazing to me. The quiz's result has been only regular, one sentence right, other almost right and the last one too difficult to me but I am decided to boost my English until the top, thanks and greetings.

I’m Brazilian, we speak Portuguese. I can understand everything you say even in 1,75x speed, which is pretty amazing to me... But my listening is way better than my speaking skills, although I can speak and write quite well...

Não sei se é por que o vocabulário está dentro de um contexto que sempre usa e eu me acostumei. Mas tento assistir Friends e outras séries e o inglês deles é muiiito diferente. Thanks for your video. I'm french and I Never understand why english people don't pronounce all the sound and syllabes in their words. I also noticed that some letters like the "t" are not pronouced either. You are the first person who explains us how to understand that.
