- Can a golf brand be controversial? I didn’t think so but after researching Bombtech golf there certainly seem to be a lot of strong feelings. Rather than get bogged down with the fans or detractors of the brand we decided to test them out ourselves both on the golf course and on the driving range with a launch monitor. Can this cheap golf brand hold up against Jon’s current golf clubs? Let’s find out!!
This is an unbiased BombTech golf review as we were able to find a crazy deal on Mercari for the BOMBTECH 3.0 driver + Bombtech 3.0 3 wood along with the BOMBTECH 3 driving iron. So we have no affiliation with the brand. How do they perform on the golf course and on the launch monitor? Let’s find out!!

Hey there, thanks for checking the Stacked Golf TH-cam channel! We’re Jon and Ashley, a husband and wife team of amateur golfers looking to share our love of the game with our viewers. Along with our thrifting adventures, we specialize in reviewing the cheapest golf gear, gimmick clubs, As Seen On TV golf clubs, crazy training aids, and more to see if they are worth checking out to improve your golf game. You will also find course vlogs, golf challenges, and budget golf course reviews from our travels. We both love the game of golf and want to share our adventures with you.
Here’s a little about us: While most kids were watching cartoons, Jon was studying the Golf Channel to learn how to play and improve his golf game. He spent most of his childhood on the golf course and loves trying out new golf clubs and gear. He is our resident tech nerd and his passion and knowledge for the game is unmatched. Jon also loves to fish and kayak. If he could he would spend all his time on the golf course or catching giant bass.
Ashley is a beginner golfer with no athletic background whatsoever before attempting to pick up the game of golf. Her unnatural ability to read the green has made her a great putter but the rest of the game is still a work in progress and we hope you enjoy watching her improve on the channel. She is also known for finding incredible deals and unique finds both online and at thrift stores and garage sales. Along with golfing and budget shopping she also enjoys trying out and creating new recipes and using Jon as her taste testing guinea pig.

My whole set is BombTech, I had the first generation and now the 3.0 , driver , 3w, iron set, wedges, and mallet putter… very happy with them.

Love Bombtech, l replaced my Ping G20 which was the best driver l have played in 40 yrs with the original Bombtech driver. its longer and forgiving. But my fav club was their first Bombtech Strong 3 wood. 13 degree. that club like my ping 7 wood and anser putter is never leaving the bag. thats a great club.

I’ve been hitting the bombtech wedges for about a year. Really love them
I've been golfing for 40 years now and trust me when I say it, I'm still ok at it. My lowest score was 84. My Ping G30's were bought back in 2014 when they first released them. They've seen better days, so it was time to upgrade. Looked at the pricing for new set of name brand irons and they are through the roof. I see no reason to spend over a grand for clubs that aren't gonna make me any better. I bought the new Bombtech 3.0 black irons around 6 months ago. I freakin love them. They fit my swing perfectly and I'm still shooting in the high 80's/low 90's. Yes, I get the stares at the course when I show up with off brand irons, but once they see me play, their attitude changes. Only thing I changed was the grips, I put Jumbomax small because of some arthritis in hands. I will never go back to name brand clubs. Plus the extra 700 bucks in my pocket feels great.
I feel same about spending £1000+ on irons! Got some old callaways from 2012 ish and usually finish under par

I used bombtech clubs for my 1st 3 years of playing golf. Great beginner clubs. Cant complain

I play/played bombtech clubs for the last 3 years. I broke the driver 6 months ago and went back to the Nike Sasquatch SQ but I still play the irons. I get butter smooth shots even out of the rough. Thanks for another quality video you two.
I also have the Driver, 3wood and driving irons. I totally agree with your testing. The driver and 3 would are great, but I have a love hate relationship with the driving irons. I find that with the driving irons you have to swing pretty level and very smooth. Let the club head do the work. I also own the wedges. I’d say the wedges are pretty solid, mind you for the price of one brand name wedge you get a set of three(in my case I also got the 72 wedge.)

Love the reviews that you do, but I really like the variety you're putting out these days.
I also have the set of Bombtechs, just not putter. I used to hit my driver 245, now with bombtech I hit over 275. As for my 3 wood, I went from never able to hit one to smashing the bombtech 3 wood to 250+
I replaced some old Adams Tom Watson wedges with the three wedge set from Bombtech a couple of years ago. I paid $99 for a 52, 56, and a 60. There was a Black Friday deal and they threw in the 72 degree wedge for free. The 72 is a bit extreme, but the others are good. My only complaint is the grips seemed very small. Nothing a quick regrip couldn't handle.

I used the Bombtech wedges for a year. They were fine, in fact very good for the price. The next year i felt like i upgraded to Cleveland RTX wedges. Time for another set now. Always interesting videos, get well soon Ashley.

I can kill the 3 wood bombtech. I wasn't crazy about the driver. I think they are good clubs. I have been wanting to try the driving iron and compare it to my ping driving iron. As always great video.

I have a gen 1 bombtech took 1.5 off of the shaft and love it. Couldn't hit the driving irons. You should try the irons.

I have a full set of bombtech clubs and I absolutely love them!
I have a the BT driver and 3 wood.. The driver is long but I took it out the bag because it’s very inconsistent on hits that aren’t dead in the sweet spot.. The 3 wood however is the opposite.. Doesn’t fade or draw a whole lot on miss-hits and is plenty long.. It doesn’t go as high as my Callaway 3 wood but I get more roll
I don't know much about Bomb tech and have watched a couple of reviews on them. You were hitting them really good John, its like any new clubs it take a couple of rounds to get used to them.

I have the Bombtech 9* Driver and it's a great stick, easy to hit and very consistent. Ashley you are too nice! John your okay I guess :) juuuuuuuuuuuust kidding, you are both awesome. I sold clubs on Ebay for years but too busy nowadays, I can tell you that the thrift stores in your area are incredible. Ours are so so. Thanks for being so positive.
I got paired up with a random guy one time who was playing a bomtech driver, the original one with the neon green shaft. I was silently judging him, until he hit it. Lol He was bombing it, for lack of a better word, mostly nice high draws.

I've been using the original Grenade driver for several years and I'm pretty happy with it. Now they're up to a 3.0 version and I'm curious if it's noticeably improved.

Bought the original Grenade to replace my RBZ2 Taylor Made. 5 years later I got the grenade 3.0. Can't wait to try it.
i have several BT club and they are great bang for buck. I did regrip them though as i have big hands but still like them a lot.

I came across a used Bomb tech wedge a couple weeks ago at the local Edwin Watts store. I left it there since I had never heard of it and was actually surprised that the EW store even took an off brand club like that in a trade.
A friend gave me a Bombtech 16 degree wood, which is supposedly comparable to a 4 wood. I hit it very consistently and, as a result, coupled with your review on the driver, I'll likely add the driver as well. Thanks for the unbiased review, as always!

I bought the 3.0 driver and 3 wood from bombtech on eBay since they were sold out let my brother use it and dented the bottom of the driver, I asked if they sell just the head and they are sending me a brand new club when it comes back in stock, talk about customer service. Also love their hybrid and wedges.
You guys should try to get some rest clubs from sub70 or new level golf. Or any DTC manufacturer. I believe sub70 does test clubs for like $20.

I have the Bombtech Grenade 2 driver, 3wood and 5 wood I don't use the driver anymore the shafts that they have in those are too stiff for me cuz my swing speed but my 3-wood and 5-wood I put new shafts in senior flex and I hit them so much better than I have any other three and five way my 5:00 would especially it's at least 30 yards longer

I love my BombTech clubs so far. First year golfing and got them, broke 90 this week with them. Though, I do use a Ping 425 driver.
I would be worried receiving a package in the post labelled Bombtech especially if it was going through customs checks, you guys may have been flagged by the NSA after ordering those clubs😂

BOMTECHS ARE THE BOMB. I 've been playing my best golf with bomtech clubs. The driver is great, I can bomb with the best of em with the bomtech driver. I happened to love the driving irons also. To be honest I only need 5 Bomtech clubs when I go out and play 18 . I'm 55 years old and Hit the driver like I was 25 again. Love 'em

I'm sure if you hit that driving iron a few more times or equal to the Tommy armour you might figure it out. I don't know if you mentioned costs today or not I have to rewatch the video. I liked the flights of the shots you hit on the course. Hope your neck feels better Ashley, probably sore from turning your head every time John said "got one" on Stacked fishing 🎣 channel LOL 😂. Ashley and John nice review and I recently viewed your videos and learned that you all attended I U university. I have lived in Indiana all my life, however I attended Purdue and enough said right.
Just picked up some used bombTech 3.0 irons today with 3 of their hybrids for $100 so not bad I think. We tried thrifting but we just don't know what we're looking at. Soooo many clubs.

Ping makes the straightest most forgiving drivers . While companies like Taylormade and Cobra hyper focus on speed and distance, which often makes their drivers much harder to hit for the begginers, senior, junior or average golfer! I love Ping it’s by far the most consistent golf company of all time

I played their wedges for about a season. They play okay; they're heavy, kinda clunky, and don't really spin all that well.
Watching to see your opinion, I bought 2 driving irons and 3 wedges for $90. I got what I payed for.
