    I bloomed with 6 of these in a 4'x10' space and got 2.75 lb of straight fire with a minimal organic nute schedule. That's 1.36g per watt with cheap amazon lights! highly recommend these to anyone.

    I'm running one along side a bloom plus 1500, with a California light works solar system UVB centered for flower. Both par matched. but bloom plus was 100 stronger center.

  • @matthewpetersen4417
    @matthewpetersen4417 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see these grow numbers and start thinking about my outdoor grow, I got pounds outside, I get OZ inside. This is why I am going to run two 1500 lights and a UVB at flower time. The 1500's give the highest pars I have found, my bloomplus at 12" is around 1800 par give or take now thats its older.

    Thanks for this! I'm looking at getting two of the P4000 models, as my space is 240cm x 120cm. Have you played with them before? Do you think it's reasonable to expect roughly the same overall high grade as you gave this model? Thanks for the information as ever!

    Is there a way to calculate an estimate of the height needed to get a different PAR reading? Say I have seedlings which need 150 ppfd, the regular PAR maps show much higher numbers for lower heights. Is there some way to estimate what height it should be to get closer to 150 ppfd?

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inverse square rule would apply - except in a reflective space that goes out the window. There are so many variables that will affect the PPFD at target (position, distance, and reflectivity of walls - for example). This is true for full PPFD as well as dimmed. The numbers I get it the test will change a lot if I moved the walls around. If your light has a dimmer, it is easier to estimate impact on PPFD with a dimmer than by simply raising or lowering. But you can use both and you dont have to be super precise.

      I don't think the symptoms sound like an issue with the light - seems like it is an issue with the nutrients or style of fertilization/fertigation

      @brianbammoore6092 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bro just letting you know I had the same problem with mine but I have the 2000 series I put them way too close to the leaves and burnt them
      So what I did was I turned it down to 55 to 60% and my plants are loving it now which I’m sure you already figured out by now and I also have a 2 x 4 size enclosure I’m just not able to use the ratchet police anymore I have the light to close to the top but I have a short tent I believe it’s around 5 foot tall exactly and my plants have grown which I have five of them in and my 2x4 Lol I was Trying to load the pictures but for some reason it won’t let me good luck on your grow brother

  • @XxSrelhowxX
    @XxSrelhowxX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm not sure if this is very helpful to smaller growers. I would have loved to see you try and find a hanging height that tries to get above 500 in all squares in the 2x3. You start approaching 800-900 par and you start running into needing more nutrients, Co2, and environment must be perfect. Any newer grower hitting 900-1000 will give them nothing but problems. Yellowing bleaching bad days. I love your approach. I just think its more dialed in for top notch growers with trying to hit those numbers. Please If I'm wrong correct me. My experience doesn't make me right because I cannot account for all the variables in those grows. "Learning in process forever"

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably not from this model - The P-series fixtures should all get similar Photon efficiency. You can use the 1.79umol/w that I tested for the P1500 and enter that in the Grow Light Calculator as the Usable PPF (umol/w) with the 200w rating for the P2000.

    This is getting a bit TMI. What light equals the results of a 400 watt HID for the same price. Not taking in electricity for the light and heat removal. Most growers know what a HID will do. There are so many caveats with LED’s, it gets confusing. I KNOW results will be good with a 400 watt HID in a 3x3 (or so) space. It would be helpful to just know what LED light(s) will perform equally at a similar price point.

    • @mikehancho1613

    I have a Q...Is it normal that the led lights cut power if the driver gets too hot? Asking for a friend

    • @mackrob3030
      @mackrob3030 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Priller if it is a low quality driver it will run less efficient if it gets to hot. You could blow a fan on it to keep the heat down and the driver and led would run more efficient. If it stops working from overheating you need a new driver that is not normal for QB led fixtures.

    Who want’s to see a test of the Optic slim 600h??

  • @mackrob3030
    @mackrob3030 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Almost as efficient as the spider farmer but half the price. Sf2000 is $300 and only 200w. This is $127 x 2 = 254 @ 300w and better coverage. I feel bad for everyone who over paid for the SF2000

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, I think you need to consider the math a little deeper... They are both good deals.
      The SF 2000 tested at 2.05umol/w which is considerably higher than 1.79. Perhaps it is easier to see this in comparing the Usable PPF. The SF2000 got 412umol and the P1500 got 258umol. The SF2000 puts out more than 50% more light. The SF2000 is perfect in a 2x3 space - and as I show here, the P1500 is perfect in a 2x2.
      Directly comparing the cost, the P1500 is $0.52, and the SF200 is $0.73 per micromole. But that difference in cost is justified by the improved efficiency.
      Sorry, to perhaps go too deep on that - but I think a lot about metrics to compare lights ;)

      Dr MJ Coco Awesome thank you for the reply Dr Coco. Is there anyway you would test a kingbrite qb . They are the most recommended light on all forums but no one has done a legit test for usable PPF. You would be the first and I am sure it would bring a lot more traffics to your awesome web-site. Do you know why everyone is scared to test them when they are the most recommend light of the past year?

    • @mackrob3030
      @mackrob3030 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basic Cannabis thank for the reply. I was thinking two p1500 vs one SF2000 for a 2x4 space. You would get an extra 100w and better spreed. Every review I see of the SF2000 the intensity of the light drops off at the end of the fixture. Dr Coco is the first to call it out as a 2x3 light. Everyone else recommend it for a 2x4. I almost got the SF2000 but I’m glad I didn’t I feel that it is over priced for what it is with it’s recent price hikes.

    • @mackrob3030
      @mackrob3030 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chad Pandapneumonium the p2000 would be closer but 2 p1000 would be about the same. The SF and the 2 p1000 can only flower a 2x3. If you want a cheap light for a 2x4 the Mars sp250 / sp3000 or migrow new 240w would be your best bet. If you don’t mind buying from China the kingbrite 320w quant board or 320w quantum strip would be best.

      David Cooper Agreed the Kingbrite is the most recommend light on all forums. I have a feeling that no one tested it because it would drive to much business away from companies like HLG, Mars, spider farmer ect.. It’s not good to go against the big sponsors in the industry like HLG, Mars, SF ect.. but Dr Coco seems legit and willing to go against the grain to help support the community.

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have reached out to Kingbrite to test their fixtures. They have not written back. It is possible that they do not want their lights tested. I hope that is not the case - I will certainly be willing to test it and give fair results. I am as curious as anyone about how those lights would do.
