Well done mate. Amazing tools. Have been living here a while and have done 2 stints learning Thai and read OK< write OPK, but still not happy with my spoken word, so looks really exciting. Onya mate
I started learning Thai in 2019. Cracking Thai Fundamentals - the book- was my entry gate and always a good spot to revisit from time to time on my learning journey. I'm very appreciative to Stuart Jay Raj for giving access to these useful tools online now. Merci !
Very useful tools - I use them every day. Started with his book Cracking Thai Fundamentals in August and I've learned a lot. Jay's teaching and tools are the cornerstone of my ภาษาไท learning plan. Don't trust anything that claims "fast language learning". Go for tools and techniques that encourage retention - pretty much anything Jay teaches.
Been ages since I worked on Thai but will be getting cracking Thai fundamentals in the new year. Really interesting to hear Bo po Mo fo mentioned as my daughter ( half Chinese) is learning at the moment
Unbelievable, thank you. I am overwhelmed, but I will try this. My vision is sitting in a cafe and write down everything I see. Than I want to hear it and read the translation. I would write road signs, ads and menues. Next time I record someone (or the BTS), read what he said, write what he said and than repeat it with my voice. This should be more fun than Candy Crush.
as a standard - yes, definitely, but once you know how to spell, you can switch to northern tones and start learning the local dialect ... you can also switch to Lanna script in there which will add some fun as you're going around town and are able to decipher the signs in Lanna
I've only started learning Thai since about 6 days ago. I'm having an impossible time remembering words. I memorized the number system in 45 minutes and can recall it easily everyday. I just don't know why I cannot retain anything else. I tried days of the week and only recall Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. I've tried writing all the alphabet by hand, writing out words and phrases in phonetic and Thai, but nothing sticks. It is so frustrating! Is there a scientific reason for this? Can I apply something about this to help me with vocab?
Here’s an improved version:
Thank you for taking the time to create these. There is truly nothing else like them available.
thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

How good you become in thai, brother?
Good timing! The new tools are great, but this run-through is showing they're even deeper than I thought.

using the sketchpad, you can jot what you see and save the handwriting as an image on your phone to check later
*Then and than have different meanings …

If living in Chiang Mai should I be learning the Bangkok Central Thai dialect?
