    Thank you so much for these. I watched Nick at Nite EVERY night as a teenager and I remember almost all of these. They were incredibly creative.

      I did too…I remember before the Cartoon Network Looney Tunes came on at midnight. It was so funny seeing cartoons at night time. So that’s how I got hooked on Nick at nite, trying to stay up to watch Looney Tunes

    In 1994, I was 2 years old. Due to a lot of traumatic experiences happening, I remember these commercials, bumps, and adverts 30 years later. Sorry for the depressing revelation, but on the bright side I love seeing this stuff and thank you for uploading!

      I was like 6, but I was a latch key kid. Nick at Nite was everything to me.

    That promo where it’s “Nick at night’s Lucy Tuesday starring Lucy, Lucy, Lucy” is one I’ve been looking for for years! I thought I was hallucinating remembering it.

    3:01- At the time, Nick At Nite had the rights to schedule the first two black and white seasons [72 episodes] of "BEWITCHED"; the six seasons of color episodes were still in "barter" syndication, on local stations {through the DFS Program Exchange}. They wouldn't be added until several years later.

    I am trying to find the promo of Nick at Nite connected TV characters and ends with Dick Van Dyke

  • @fromthesidelines
    @fromthesidelines ปีที่แล้ว +6

    11:08- James T. Aubrey, CBS' ruthless president, didn't want "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" on HIS network for another season; he thought it was too "inside show biz", and believed audiences wouldn't accept a series about a TV comedy writer, his family, friends and workplace. Aubrey deliberately tried to sabotage it by placing the program in the *worst* time period the network had- Tuesdays at 8pm(et) for the first 13 weeks. Then he moved it to Wednesdays at 9:30 in January 1962 (opposite "PERRY COMO'S KRAFT MUSIC HALL"). Finally, he decided to end the series so he could place another sitcom, "HOWIE" [starring Paul Lynde and Will Hutchins], in its time period the following fall. Aubrey didn't figure on Sheldon Leonard going to sponsor Procter & Gamble's headquarters in Cincinnati, begging them to give Dick another chance. They told him if he could find an alternate spionsor for season two, they'd renew their commitment for the show. He did {Lorillard's Kent cigarettes}- and in turn, P&G told Jim Aubrey that 'THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" was to stay in *their* time period......or they'd move most of their advertising AND their daytime "soaps" to the other networks. Since they were CBS' biggest advertiser, Aubrey caved in (by the way, "HOWIE" was never produced.......it finally became "THE PAUL LYNDE SHOW" a decade later).

    Wow I didn't realize we got cable right as Jeanie and Bewitched came on. Man they had some real shit before that.
    Also I realize how weird is it my childhood had so much of the Boomers crap in it. I tried watching some of these shows as an adult and bleh! the subversion is there it's so vile now. You can see all the dumb ideas that ruined everything now back then.
