You lost me at the foundation part. I thought the left side was the "correct" one since that one look pretty and natural while the other one looked like a yellow mess and failed attempt at looking tan. I did watch the rest though and agreed with most of it, however it was quite useless to me personally since I wear a very different type of makeup compared to this.
The only reason why it looks okay is because of the camera it makes both sides look flawless, but it does actually look ashy and make her face look dry
Just a quick comment to everyone saying that the yellow foundation doesn't match her skin tone: foundation is supposed to match the rest of your body and using self tanner automatically creates a yellower tone. The reason that the pink seems to match better if because of the lighting. Common mistake to think the pink matched better but the yellow is the right shade!
Well it's you and a few others against hundreds of others.. If you and the few think it looks better, and that its correct, by all means think that but the whole BS that "your face should match your body" completely ignores basic rules of makeup: matching your undertone. There's a difference between tan and yellow. Lol
I totally agree. I have really yellow undertones and anything pinky just makes me look awful! On camera you can see the extent of how olive my skin is, all of you saying the pink one looks better are honestly mad and disillusioned by the lighting! xo
***** but what if your neck is very pale? I have porcelain skin, only my face looks darker because of freckles...then I would look like a freakin ghost xD
Contouring is to define your face. Way different from bronzing. Contour is suppose to look like a "shadow" on your face and ideally should have a LITTLE bit of a grey undertone but not a lot.
Coming from someone studying specialist makeup, I have to say the tips demonstrated here are correct from an industry standpoint. It's all about tailoring the makeup to the face and eyes, both in shape and colour. Using this video for educational purposes is perfect as these are the techniques you learn when studying makeup. The 'unflattering' application that Lauren demonstrated is by no means wrong, it's just unflattering and ultimately with makeup, you want to enhance your features. :)
She uses fake tan, (which is totally what she wants to do with her body) so it makes her face is a different color so that's most likely why she uses foundation that is a different shade than her natural skin tone. Just to even it out, but other than that her face is flawless.
I really appreciate that you actually used real mistakes in this video that are commonly found to be helpful to girls and didn't over exaggerate them just to make a funny video like some other people do :) you got yourself a new subscriber
People are talking about her foundation being too yellow, she said it looks yellow because it's being compared to a more pink foundation, but it matches her body. Jesus, do you all even listen before you make comments
I still think the wrong side foundation matches her skin tone better. Her neck is a bit yellow yes, but her chest looks more pink-ish and closer to the wrong side color. I would recommend to use a little foundation on your neck to match everything evenly or a less yellow foundation.
wonderwomanxOx Only her neck is yellow because of the fake tan, the rest of her body is not the same color, therefore the foundation only matches her neck and not her whole body, making it not the right foundation color. Whether you have a fake tan or not doesn't matter. Some people, like me, have the same problem with their neck color not matching the rest. Mine is paler than my face and body, and not because of that I choose a foundation that makes me look like a mime just to match it.
Doodles, it doesn't look like it in this video compared to her chest, I thought the same, but if you go to other videos, she is very yellow on her arms and hands and stuff. So I'm sure she knows herself better than you from across the screen what color suits her best
well she did mention and its true) that in comparison to the other foundation it looks way too yellow. there are shadows cast on her neck and it is father away than her face which can cause color problems on film. watch her other videos. i think the lighter one looks better but the yellow definitely matches her tan.
I don't think that the yellow-toned foundation suited her better or matched her body shade more. Perhaps it was just the lighting, but I don't know... I find that too many blonde-haired, blue-eyed girls (w/ naturally pink-toned skin) wear yellow-based foundations that make them appear sick and sallow... Even with a fake tan! Unless the tan is really deep and golden, I would skip the yellow-based foundations...
I really liked the pink foundation but it might look like crap in person so I really don't know. I would have to see it in real life. What looks great on camera might not look so great in person.
The disclaimer was really nice of you. Thank you for acknowledging the fact that people (including yourself) are allowed to have their own opinions, and I hope it stopped any rude comments from happening :-).
idk personally i thought the same about the yellow side being TOO yellow, but at the end when she goes back and forth between the two sides, the yellow side does match her NECK a lot better than the pinky side, i think the real "problem" is her fake tan is making her whole self a bit more yellow than looks most natural for her. ether way, i think this video is extremely well done, thanks lauren! :)
This video is very informative especially for beginners. Also, she is stating HER opinions on makeup. In the disclaimer, she said it's okay if you do yours differently. Please take it for what it is and don't be so rude about it!
the pink side only looks better than the yellow side because you're only looking at her face but if you look at her neck then you would see the yellow matches but then past her neck her skin looks pink again so I'm pretty much confused...
the yellow foundation is made for people with yellow undertones. so people who tan well. unfortunately, people like and I have red or pink undertones and burn in the sun. so even though she tans, the darker foundation wouldn't work because it's the wrong undertone. yellow = warm undertone pink = cool undertone. so despite her neck being dark, the cooler undertone foundation works better, blends out. looks Natura
in my opinion, yes, the "wrong" side looks too heavy in makeup. the "do" side looks more refreshing and simple enough to go on a daily basis. For her face and looks, the "do" side compliments her much better, and if you look closely, makes her look younger. Now yes, the yellow foundation is a bit too yellow, especially when compared to the other side, but it matches her skin a lot better. Now, for different people with different faces, this video is not exactly the most ideal, though definitely helpful in tips. And some people simply want to stick to a specific look, and thats up to them.
By the end of the video she gets her point across. I think her foundation looked super nice and natural on the "correct" side. She knows what she is talking about.
Although a lot of you disagree with the "yellow" side I think that it matched perfectly in the end.... If she would have applied the "pink" shade all over it would have looked as though her head was floating on her neck.. The other products she used blended perfectly. I think this video is spot on. Everything matched her tanned skin tone. The "yellow" side had a more matte finish and the "pink" side had a more flushed finish which could look even pinker with applying blush normally. I like the correct side because it looks natural yet done up at the same time. Beautiful!
Holy s***. No matter what she's gorgeous with & without makeup. She's just giving us tips on how to actually look flawless instead of cakey. I'm 100% on Laurens side. She knows her makeup and this video gave me a lot of tips. Some of these comments are just uncalled for. If you don't like what you see, then watch someone else's videos that satisfies you.
Honestly I was certain that yellow one was the bad side... You sure you're right about that color? I know cameras throw off color but that's a big leap.
People don't get that the pink foundation makes the yellow toned look dirty yellow here. Lauren pointed it so quickly. Of course the pink looks better in here in comparison, but the yellow was meant to be seen alone. Cover the pink side, and the yellow isn't SO horrible as you may think.
The yellow toned one does match her neck better, but I do agree that the more pinky tone suits her better. Her fake tan doesn't match her natural coloring.
If you actually understood that foundation needs to match your neck and not just the colour of your face then you'd probably understand her video a bit more🙄
+Rhiannon Willard well every other mua i have talked have said that you should match the foundation to your FACE not your body and that "right" foundation just looks dirty on her.
I think the first foundation matched your face much better, but if you are wearing fake tan, then obviously you need the second foundation in order to match the rest of your body! Great video!! Kisses from Spain! Xxxxx
true because she said that it looks yellow cause the other side of her face is pink so its not all blended together ! and in the end i would wear the make up on the do side much more pretty
Andrea Negredom Well yeah at first I thought so too but I think it's just because it's next to a REALLY yellow based one and the lighting was kind of bad. But then when she covered the face up it looked much better with the "yellow" foundation.
Wow, there sure are some witches on the internet. I scrolled through the comments and am appalled by how many nasty, negative comments there are here by women. It must be exhausting spewing all that negative energy they're carrying around out into the world. Shame on them! Sheesh! You did a video to help people! Thank you for putting out a helpful video, I sure appreciate it. I think you're beautiful, your tutorial inspired me, and I'm subscribing. Have a great day! :)
You're good! I agree with you in everything except for the brows 'cause I prefer more natural looking brows. They can also be black and I do my brows dark but I just don't want them that defined in the edges.
Personally I am not a fan of the over tanned yellow look, so to me the pink foundation on the left looks more natural and youthful. Pink and rosy coloring is the color of youth, not yellow. :)
I have never been taught how to do my makeup properly and have unwittingly done 90% of the "don't" on a regular basis, while trying to achieve the look of the "do". Thank you for these tutorials as they are immensely helpful!
I have to say, at first I really liked the more pink side. Till you put the bronzer on. But the yellow was still off till you did the white paper trick.. I can see how much it works..
Totally agreed. when she said the yellow side of her face was the 'correct' shade of foundation I was like "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!" I understand picking a shade that is the same as your body but I don't think it should be that much darker than the shade of the skin on your face. I agree with everything except her choice of foundation.
Ok so not to be rube but, in my opinion I think that the 'right' side of the foundation looks to yellow on your skin it just looks like you were sick. The'wrong' side of the foundation looked wayyy better. But anyways ithink there is no right or wrong way on putting make up on because people can put thier make up on the way they want to put it...
The yellow side looks awful! Why do you put a warm (yellow) color on your "cool" (cold face)? Pink is better for your face. Even your hands match pink color more, your hair, your eyes. Just because yellow gives you "more" color and makes you 'tanned" it doesn't mean it looks better.
If you can't find a foundation shade or if you are choosing between a darker and lighter one, go to the lighter one because you can warm it up using bronzer, not all over your face, but it can help to even it out. Xx
I agree with you, the pink tone looks more natural than the yellow tone, from what I can see on my monitor. But again, it could be the lightning or the camera that exaggerates yellow tones.
muffinmoogle I think the only reason it look super orange/yellow is because its next to a really light colour. and also she uses the orange/yellow foundation because it matches her fake tan
Yeah, I thought the pink looked good and that was before the yellow was put on. I don't let my face get tan so my neck and face often don't match in the summer, and that's without make-up, which is my default look. Oops.
Very nice to meet you luv. I just subbed to your channel. I prefer the side you chose as well. To be fair, makeup application is like art..Some may prefer a heavy hand while others use a light hand. I feel shaping, detailing and blending are the key to a polished look. My eyes are small & cat shaped...So I only line my top lids. I always apply a lighter shade of shadow from my top inner eye lid blending it out and stopping before my outer corner. This gives my eyes a bigger appearance. Believe it or not, u don't apply mascara to ny bottom lashes. A tip from Wayne Goss for people that have little to no bottom lashes. Now, my top lashes are very thick and long., which makes up for my thin bottom lashes. I also feel the more women mature, 35+, LESS IS MORE FLATTERING!!' But, as I stated earlier, makeup is like art. Some prefer a bold finished canvas, while others prefer a clean, polished look. And this brings me to a great tip. LIPSTICKS!!! I adore lipsticks. The reason is, we have loads of shades, textures, etc. There's nothing more beautiful, when I see a woman wearing a bold lip color, with a natural makeup application. And ladies with thin lips, PLEASE steer away from BOLD LIP COLORS!!!! They make your lips appear thinner then they actually are. "Not a flattering look". Instead use Brown with peach or pink undertones. This will even out any uneven lip and take 10yrs off our age. Mauves also flatter thin lips. My mother taught me this. She worked as a makeup consultant for Estee Lauder for decade's. She was given an award for best in sales and promoted to, MG. She taught my sister's and I everything. I LOVE playing with makeup. "This is my opinion" based on a professional, makeup, artist...MY beautifully, talented, mother.
Hey Girlfriend. Did you get the list? I will look for a notice on way or the other, after I take a quick nap. THEN if it's a go, will send you directions. Bye for now!
Wow, you're definitely not a yellow shade! A simple way to notice it, is to look a your blue eyes and pinky lips ^^ you can also see the color of your scalp which is really pink. And at the beggining of the video, the pink-toned foundation looks a lot more natural, whereas the yellow one make the makeup really showing through :/
she definitely said that she has fake tan on so that's why her foundation is a more yellow tone. she also said that she knows that that foundation looks very yellow, but only cause it's next to the lighter one. the tone of her face needs to match her neck or it'll look UNnatural.
i have to dissagree and say that the yellow foundation matched her skin better. if you see her with just the side with the right color, you can tell it works better. ;)
People of all eye shapes can blend their eyeshadow. The shape of your eye doesn't dictate how the powder is buffed into the skin. Everyone may have a different technique for their eye shape to achieve but I have seen first hand no eye-shape is "un-blendable" - skin is skin.
It's difficult to blend with excessive skin on the lid. It's difficult to get eyeshadow into a shape that doesn't make a downturned eye look even more downturned. Not having these types of eyes helps with blending shadow.
Omg Lauren you're literally my inspiration, you're such a compassionate, kind hearted loveable girl, ignore the haters bc you're beautiful either way, and that's the utter truth! whenever I watch your videos you make me smile the way you're just always so positive and happy, I love how you're so understanding and never want to hurt a soul, all time favourite you tuber! keep up the great work Lauren xoxoxo thanks for the help :)
I honestly loved this video, you said said everything in an inoffensive way but you told the truth of what looks good and what doesn't. Everything was perfectly explained.
It's because it's being compared to the pink toned foundation. When she had the tissue in front of the "don't" side, you could see that the foundation was the correct shade :)
She said it looks very yellow because it's COMPARED to the pink foundation on her right side. The yellowish tone seems to matches her skin more properly. She looks great in both though. Nothing is wrong with yellow skin, that's why there are 2 shades because some people have yellow undertones and some people have pink.
I agreed when I first saw it, but at the end of the video when you only see the "right" side (12:19), the more yellow foundation does match her skin tone! :) I think it just looked off because it was next to the pink side.
I thought the 'pink' foundation on camera, matched your chest (not neck) a little better...I thought the warm one showed too much near your hairline... That is my issue, I need to mix 2 colors for near my hairline or it looks like too much color... I've seen girls with the heavy black eyeliner and too pale pink lips...I'm not a fan of the 2 looks together... I don't care for white-ish lips either, Lol. But yeah, to each her own.
Personally I like her foundation better on the "don't" side... I didn't notice anything she said about it not matching her neck to be honest and the "don't" side I didn't notice as much she was wearing makeup but more her beautiful and even looking skin , on her "correct way" side for foundation all noticed was that I could really tell she was wearing it , either the wrong shade or too much of it..... i personally enjoy the natural look more so everything else i more enjoyed her idea of what she considered the "right" side as the "don't" side did look harsh upon completion . Just my thoughts of course , I'm sure everyone has their own thoughts. Its kinda deciding if you want a natural feminine look or a night on the town look .
Please don't apologise for your opinions Lauren! I guess a lot of people leave negative comments so you are mindful of stepping on any toes so to speak but honestly haters are gonna hate.. Keep making your great videos and don't worry about the people that get unnecessarily offended!
My exact thought! ... I thought the "wrong" color was gonna be the correct one as well since the other side looks really really yellowish and doesn't go with her body.
i think the yellow foundation on the 'do' side looks better and matches better. the pink kinda looked nice up close but it couldve been the camera angle cuz as soon as u backed away the pink looked like so red on the forehead and everywhere. great advice!
Or have a different opinion than you. I admit I didn't finish the entire video, but minus the gross pink lipstick color, it's not much of a difference.
Yeah she was saying if you don't have nice eyebrows you should fill them in when you have a full face of makeup. But I personally dont cause i think it looks weird on me. Plus my eyebrows are pretty thick as it is.
So I'm terrible with being a girl and have always struggled with makeup but I'm crazy grateful for this video. I will definitely be trying the mascara trick and the eyeliner recommendation. Also, being "makeup-impaired", I never realized the powder thing. I rarely ever use it, but that explains why it looked so terrible when I did. Thank you a million!
People, i think that the yellow toned foundation looks so much better, it matches her skintone (faketan). The more pinky foundation doesnt matches her skintone (faketan).
Guys obviously yes, if she didn't tan she would use a pink toned foundation but her tan is quite obviously yellow toned, hence the yellow toned foundation. Not a difficult concept to comprehend... Ultimately, she is just trying to say that you need to match your face with your body regardless of whether or not your body is in it's natural shade or not.
Looking at the comments, I can see everyone saying how they prefer the left side, and honestly, if your prefer that side, you do not understand makeup at all. She is the professional, so Im pretty sure she knows what she is talking about.
I like this video for helping people that are new to make-up and want help and a few guidelines for starting. In school I wished for someone to give me tips, I had no idea what I'm doing (and felt uncomfortable at times) and thinking back, it must have looked a bit weird. :) Now I have my own style with following some basics and mixing it with what I like. :)
That's what I was thinking, we can't apply make-up perfect from day one. We need to learn and experiment with it. Just like with everything else we do in our daily life, we (hopefully) get better over time ^^
Loved it!! At first I thought the left side was the DO. But when I saw that the right side matched her neck I noticed it was the right color. Great video!!!
Maybe it's just the impression you get from watching the video, but it seems like the foundation and powder on your "not done right" side of the face matches your skin tone SO much more better and looks more natural. I know you get this a lot and I absolutely love your videos, so please don't take offense on that.
It is her skin tone, and i agree. But, what she was saying was that the rest of her body is the skin tone of the "right" side, so dont you want your face to match the rest of your body? Her face is more pale than her skin because she uses fake tan, which makes her skin more of that yellowish tone.
I totally agree with her points on eyeliner, but I'm confused. Often I put it on my lower waterline and upper tightline, but not on the upper lash line if that makes sense. Is that wrong?
It's not wrong! Make up is a thing that is mostly about doing what you like, but I do think a lot of girls would agree that putting black on your lower waterline isn't very flattering. It makes your eyes look smaller, while putting eyeliner on your upper lash line makes your eyes look bigger.
wish she had done a voice over describing her techniques with the brushes to obtain the proper look, but i am a new subscriber and i love her laugh and her happy personality i will definitely be watching her for a long time!
What a beautiful girl and beautiful without a bit of makeup. She has an accent like a former roommate of mine from Yorkshire (Leeds) and listening to her speak is making me feel nostalgic. If she is as lovely inside as she is outside, then she has the world on a string (that is a very old song, but means that she has it going on, bit time).
By the way, I meant to say she has it going on big time. I misspelled which happens late and night when I get crazy on the web. Oh, then she is a beautiful Australian woman. She still reminds me of my Yorkshire friend ... really.
NZ accent is nothing like that. She sounds way more like Brit than NZ if saying similarity. Thats also why ppl here thought she's from Yorkshire:)Australian accent is close to British accent. *****
Its always helpful when you make these videos because Im just trying to do natural makeup looks like yours usually is and not over powering or wrong colored. Thank you once again!
i think people say the yellow foundation looks weird because it is done just on the right side of her face, but if she did the entire face, it would have matched her neck and rest of the body.. the left one looked more natural because it matched her facial tone, but if she uses it for the entire face it will look too light.
I am blonde with a yellow undertone and the yellow toned foundation is just stunning! Many people like the pink undertone because it is the most easily marketed. Don't apologize for knowing your tone! I wish other girls did as well!
I actually find the one with the pink foundation hue matches you better then the yellow.. the yellow foundation makes you look sick, then again its sitting alongside the one with the red undertone so in comparison it just looks off. I still think the pink suits your nick and your skin tone.
is it bad that i like the pink foundation better?
Not whatsoever, everyone has their own preferences!!
OH i got it now aha, no i think i agree.
I was thinking the same thing lol
Lol I thought the pink foundation was better too
@@shannonray2546 me too

***** not the neck im looking at
I think the issue is that the white balance in her camera is completely off and what looks good to her in correct light doesn't look good on camera.
The only reason why it looks okay is because of the camera it makes both sides look flawless, but it does actually look ashy and make her face look dry
Just a quick comment to everyone saying that the yellow foundation doesn't match her skin tone: foundation is supposed to match the rest of your body and using self tanner automatically creates a yellower tone. i actually thought that the leftside foundation looked better on her than the rightside foundation
+Aurora Cervantes oh my same! thought that as well.
same!!!
If you looked at her face yes but the yellow matched her neck and body which is what you want in your foundation
*****
but what if your neck is very pale? I have porcelain skin, only my face looks darker because of freckles...then I would look like a freakin ghost xD
*****
yes but my neck is very pale...so it will all be pale then...luckily there is bronzer!
Weird. I would have thought that the pinky foundation matched your skin better. And what's the difference between bronzer and contour powder? ?
contour powder shapes your face and makes you look slimmer and sculpted. bronzer warms up your complexion. that's the difference :)
i always thought they were the same powder. oh I feel dumb!
I researched it a bit more and learned that you should never use bronzer to contour! Good thing I only made that mistake a few times
The whole thing still kind of confuses me!
Contouring is to define your face. Way different from bronzing. Contour is suppose to look like a "shadow" on your face and ideally should have a LITTLE bit of a grey undertone but not a lot.

Yes, I agree with a lot of the others. The "wrong" foundation looks much MUCH better on you.

Only her neck is yellow because of the fake tan, the rest of her body is not the same color, therefore the foundation only matches her neck and not her whole body, making it not the right foundation color.

mpnl21 I'm sure she knows better what works for her, but people also makes mistakes. Either way, it's my opinion on the matter and still stands.
I agree with you,the wrong side matches better, the right side is too yellow
i think at te foundation part the left side is better but that's my opinion! i think this video is so good! it helped alot!
Your foundation on the right doesn't even match your tanned skin. It's too yellow.
XD awkward
***** Her skin would be more yellow too, would it not?
well she did mention and its true) that in comparison to the other foundation it looks way too yellow. there are shadows cast on her neck and it is father away than her face which can cause color problems on film. watch her other videos. i think the lighter one looks better but the yellow definitely matches her tan.
That was just cause it was next to a pink foundation and yes it actually did match her skin tone
The camera makes it look different
Actually I think the pinky foundation looked better. The yellow one only matched your neck, your chest looks pinky.

You're so pretty! And what I like about you is that you sound more intelligent than some other make-up artists on youtube. :)
anyone else pause the video and put their hand over each side to get a better look? lol awesome video :)

THIS VIDEO HELPED ME SO MUCH!
idk personally i thought the same about the yellow side being TOO yellow, but at the end when she goes back and forth between the two sides, the yellow side does match her NECK a lot better than the pinky side, i think the real "problem" is her fake tan is making her whole self a bit more yellow than looks most natural for her. ether way, i think this video is extremely well done, thanks lauren! :)

the pink side only looks better than the yellow side because you're only looking at her face but if you look at her neck then you would see the yellow matches but then past her neck her skin looks pink again so I'm pretty much confused...
That's because she blended the yellow foundation on her neck
the yellow foundation is made for people with yellow undertones. so people who tan well. unfortunately, people like and I have red or pink undertones and burn in the sun. so even though she tans, the darker foundation wouldn't work because it's the wrong undertone. yellow = warm undertone
pink = cool undertone. so despite her neck being dark, the cooler undertone foundation works better, blends out. looks Natura
It's because she has spray tan. She probably didn't spray her chest or something
in my opinion, yes, the "wrong" side looks too heavy in makeup. the "do" side looks more refreshing and simple enough to go on a daily basis. For her face and looks, the "do" side compliments her much better, and if you look closely, makes her look younger.
I want to see a countouring/bronzer video for round faced people. You have a skinny face so you are able to contour
Same here
Vani4Bg same!
Yes! Me too
go to tanya burr she have more of a roundy face
People with round faces can contour as well. Exact same thing!
Honestly I was certain that yellow one was the bad side... You sure you're right about that color? I know cameras throw off color but that's a big leap.
I liked the 'wrong' side of foundation at first but by the end of the video the 'right' side looked way more put together and natural
People don't get that the pink foundation makes the yellow toned look dirty yellow here. Lauren pointed it so quickly. Of course the pink looks better in here in comparison, but the yellow was meant to be seen alone. Cover the pink side, and the yellow isn't SO horrible as you may think.
PLUS once she applies the powder and actually finishes it, it looks healthy and natural.
I think the pink toned foundation looked a lot better and more natural than the yellow based foundation.
i couldn't agree more !
The yellow toned one does match her neck better, but I do agree that the more pinky tone suits her better. Her fake tan doesn't match her natural coloring.
Totally agree! In the beginning I thought the left side was the "right" side =)
totally agree with this !
I thought the exact same thing!
That moment when the makeup don'ts are like half the girls at your school
Omg yes😅
beth.sheba YES
YES
the "right" colored foundation was so wrong shade for u🙅🙈
Not if you look at her neck and body. You want to match foundation to the tone of your body not of your face :)
+Heyimgrace xo yup mate
If you actually understood that foundation needs to match your neck and not just the colour of your face then you'd probably understand her video a bit more🙄
+Rhiannon Willard well every other mua i have talked have said that you should match the foundation to your FACE not your body and that "right" foundation just looks dirty on her.
+inkaajasmin your choice if you want a pale face that doesn't match your neck😊
At the start, i thought the pinky side was the good side and that she was just joking about the yellow side...Anyone with me??
Me too 🙊
Yah
Exactly
yes! thank you! I thought the "wrong" foundation. looked so much better, and more natural
Yes!
I thought you would say the pinker shade was the "do" side. It looks very yellow, even with the fake tan.
I think the first foundation matched your face much better, but if you are wearing fake tan, then obviously you need the second foundation in order to match the rest of your body! Great video!! Kisses from Spain! Xxxxx
I was thinking the same thing.... I really like the pinker shade, but I guess it should match her tan lol
THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE MAKEUP TUTORIALS. THANKS, PRETTY GIRL!
Wtf? The pinky foundation looks better than the yellow one..
You're right..
totally!!!!
true because she said that it looks yellow cause the other side of her face is pink so its not all blended together ! and in the end i would wear the make up on the do side much more pretty
Andrea Negredom Well yeah at first I thought so too but I think it's just because it's next to a REALLY yellow based one and the lighting was kind of bad. But then when she covered the face up it looked much better with the "yellow" foundation.
I think it was the lighting...
this is perfect, concealer on the lips is possibly the most unflattering look and thick eyeliner underneath your eye makes you look tired!
aw lauren you're trying to not offend people which is really kind of you omg.. and i find your accent really cute :)
Or it's probably my first impression but it looked nicer to me the second time I looked at it.
Personally I am not a fan of the over tanned yellow look, so to me the pink foundation on the left looks more natural and youthful. Pink and rosy coloring is the color of youth, not yellow. :)
It would look more natural if her head wasnt attached to the rest of her body.
Up until the bronzer, I thought the DONT side actually looked better than the do side
Same
if it is your taste :D, i like girls if they look more natural and not like plastic.
TheMapstar Pinkish foundation is not plastic wtf
I have never been taught how to do my makeup properly and have unwittingly done 90% of the "don't" on a regular basis, while trying to achieve the look of the "do". Thank you for these tutorials as they are immensely helpful!
I have to say, at first I really liked the more pink side. Till you put the bronzer on. But the yellow was still off till you did the white paper trick.. I can see how much it works..
Totally agreed. when she said the yellow side of her face was the 'correct' shade of foundation I was like "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!"
I understand picking a shade that is the same as your body but I don't think it should be that much darker than the shade of the skin on your face.
I agree with everything except her choice of foundation.
***** I actually was focusing on her hair line and I came to the opposite conclusion. each to their own I suppose.
Just because yellow gives you "more" color and makes you 'tanned" it doesn't mean it looks better.
.
it wasnt until she started talking that i realized that the yellow shade was the shade. i agree the cooler tone looked better.
If you can't find a foundation shade or if you are choosing between a darker and lighter one, go to the lighter one because you can warm it up using bronzer, not all over your face, but it can help to even it out. Xx
Wow you're really pretty even without makeup! Subbed!
sorry but I think the 'wrong' side looks best ! as you say though, it's all down to personal preference. Thanks for taking the time to do the video x
da fuq?
To me, the yellow toned foundation doesn't suit the skin tone, whereas the pink does. Maybe it's just the lighting, I'm not sure.
Oops.
when she held the napkin to cover half her face on the yellow side you saw the skin look like more of an actual colour of skin.
***** I would say that's a personal opinion as some people have pink skin, some yellow, some are neutral and could go either way.
Shit, I thought you were black for a second....
KreeZafi And if I were??? What are you implying?
Katrina Hamilton
Not saying there's anything wrong with being black, just that I though you were and then realized you were not and that was weird.
KreeZafi I'm Greek and Egyptian. I just love Makeup and know a lot about application. How about you???
Wow, you're definitely not a yellow shade! A simple way to notice it, is to look a your blue eyes and pinky lips ^^ you can also see the color of your scalp which is really pink. And at the beggining of the video, the pink-toned foundation looks a lot more natural, whereas the yellow one make the makeup really showing through :/
oh, and maybe the pink foundation doesn't match your body simply because you tan yourself ^^' (sorry my english may be bad, i'm french)
she definitely said that she has fake tan on so that's why her foundation is a more yellow tone. she also said that she knows that that foundation looks very yellow, but only cause it's next to the lighter one. the tone of her face needs to match her neck or it'll look UNnatural.
i also think that pink foundation looked more natural... and i couldn't really see her tan
i have to dissagree and say that the yellow foundation matched her skin better. if you see her with just the side with the right color, you can tell it works better. ;)
yes, yellow looked also good but not natural, on her case rather icteric at first... but i liked the video, yellow side looked great in the end
for foundation and powder i actually think the left side looks better.
the right side is just so... yellow :/
thank you! I thought I was the only one who noticed
08Superkristine that's why I said it looked better at the first two steps. at the end the right side did look better
***** calm down girl. I only meant for the first two steps - foundation and powder - afterwards the right side looked better
***** Read carefully and mistakes don't happen ;)
I think it too
My eye shape is too stupid to blend properly.
OH.MY.GOD!
That eyeliner part had me laughin' my ass off. I know it wasn't meant to be funny but that left side...DAMN!
Pink looked beautiful & much more natural and better than the yellow x x x
The "Pinker" side looks SOOOOOO much better. No one looks good in "yellow" shades. (Just the foundation... not the end result!!!)
I honestly loved this video, you said said everything in an inoffensive way but you told the truth of what looks good and what doesn't. Everything was perfectly explained.
everything you said dont do i do omg i need to get better this really helped me!!
haha
Rosibel Benitez same when I contour it just looks like dirt😂🔹😂
the do side is tooooooo yellow
It's because it's being compared to the pink toned foundation. When she had the tissue in front of the "don't" side, you could see that the foundation was the correct shade :)
+Alice White or, maybe, crazy thought, he still thinks it looks yellow.
i liked the "wrong one" bettwr
No it's really not
+Chrissie McGowan stop liking ur own comments
Umm the "wrong" foundation made you look perfect...the other one made you look completely yellow..srry
She said it looks very yellow because it's COMPARED to the pink foundation on her right side. The yellowish tone seems to matches her skin more properly. She looks great in both though. Nothing is wrong with yellow skin, that's why there are 2 shades because some people have yellow undertones and some people have pink.
Disagree. The "right" side is suppose to match her fake tanned skin. Therefore The foundation is much more yellow than the wrong side.
Noei Narkprasert Well of course you want to match whatever skin you have at the moment whether it's fake tan or not
I agreed when I first saw it, but at the end of the video when you only see the "right" side (12:19), the more yellow foundation does match her skin tone! :) I think it just looked off because it was next to the pink side.
I agree she looked way too yellow I dont think it matched her skin tone her face was more yellow than her neck
I have watched this previously and still love it! It's honest, fun and shows so much personality Lauren! X
Just giving my 2 pointless cents that I love pale lips and dark eyes!
Crippled Potato I do sometimes as well…just here, as illustrated, the lip color is a bit too chalky of a pink, IMHO...
love this video!
I honestly think the pink toned foundation looks better and more natural on you
Left side powder and foundation look great. (Your right side)
i thought the "wrong" color was gonna be the correct one, the other side looks clownish
sammmme
My exact thought! ... I thought the "wrong" color was gonna be the correct one as well since the other side looks really really yellowish and doesn't go with her body.
I completely agree!
Ano i still think that
Same
i think the yellow foundation on the 'do' side looks better and matches better. the pink kinda looked nice up close but it couldve been the camera angle cuz as soon as u backed away the pink looked like so red on the forehead and everywhere. great advice!
To be honest, the 'don't' side looks better in my opinion
Or have a different opinion than you. I admit I didn't finish the entire video, but minus the gross pink lipstick color, it's not much of a difference.
I think the foundation looked better on the 'dont' side
Jwebzie I thought the same at first. But then again i also think my foundation looks okay as well (it doesn't.)
yah i think the foundation looked lots better on the dont side
Could you do this with a dark/night out look? This look seems more subtle/everyday. I wanna know if I look like a maniac when going out. lol
Eyebrows are also personal preference. No one HAS to do their eyebrows.
I COMPELETLY AGREE!
I thought the makeup don't for eyebrows should have been don't OVER do them, not don't UNDER do them
yeah we know that's what she said at the beginning of the video this is her personal preference
Yeah she was saying if you don't have nice eyebrows you should fill them in when you have a full face of makeup. But I personally dont cause i think it looks weird on me. Plus my eyebrows are pretty thick as it is.
If I try doing my eyebrows I just feel like I have caterpillars on my face...
Eaven by doing a "wrong make up look" you still look stunning ! ❤️
Everyone can love what they one. Makeup isn't a job for everybody
just for the foundation....i still think the pink side looks better lol but the rest of the tips are awesome ,...thank u
Just like with everything else we do in our daily life, we (hopefully) get better over time ^^
Omg she looks so good with or with ought makeup
fahmida Haque *without
Her face is more pale than her skin because she uses fake tan, which makes her skin more of that yellowish tone.
i think its a condo. most condo looks like that
sorry but how is not filling in your eyebrows a dont ? not everyone has too ! you make makeup sound so important
It makes your eyes look smaller, while putting eyeliner on your upper lash line makes your eyes look bigger.
okay thanks (:
***** who?
***** creepy much
***** I don't think any girl is jealous of a creep calling another girl pretty on the Internet
wish she had done a voice over describing her techniques with the brushes to obtain the proper look, but i am a new subscriber and i love her laugh and her happy personality i will definitely be watching her for a long time!
What a beautiful girl and beautiful without a bit of makeup. She has an accent like a former roommate of mine from Yorkshire (Leeds) and listening to her speak is making me feel nostalgic. If she is as lovely inside as she is outside, then she has the world on a string (that is a very old song, but means that she has it going on, bit time).
but shes australian not from yorkshire
By the way, I meant to say she has it going on big time. I misspelled which happens late and night when I get crazy on the web. Oh, then she is a beautiful Australian woman. She still reminds me of my Yorkshire friend ... really.
***** She's from Australia
+Keke love she's Aussie :) her web stuff is all .au and has no hint of New Zealand accent :)
NZ accent is nothing like that. She sounds way more like Brit than NZ if saying similarity. Thats also why ppl here thought she's from Yorkshire:)Australian accent is close to British accent. *****
Omg! what brand of lipstick are you using for the right side of your face? I absolutely LOVE it!!!!
Thanks for the tips! love the jacket btw!
Its always helpful when you make these videos because Im just trying to do natural makeup looks like yours usually is and not over powering or wrong colored. Thank you once again!
i think people say the yellow foundation looks weird because it is done just on the right side of her face, but if she did the entire face, it would have matched her neck and rest of the body.. the left one looked more natural because it matched her facial tone, but if she uses it for the entire face it will look too light.
you look really beautiful with your hair up with no makeup on!
The right side of your face is so Jersey Shore LOL
OMG I CAN"T STAND how many chicks overdo the bronze and highlighter. It looks so gross.
Agreeeee
Rose K ikr my brothers what it for the rudeness and stuff and they literally looked liked a painted doll but worse anyway i hate jersey shore
Rose K omg xd
Pretty sure how you do your makeup is down to personal preference....
