Great video exactly my sentiments Stadia is the only way me and my son can play together online as we live some distance apart... Also it has the best connection and best quality cloud gaming still and I still use Xcloud and Geforce now but Stadia was perfect.. Wishing you all the best from me and my son from UK

Stadia is a tremendous product, and I had hoped that with the launch of FIFA 23, we were at least moving in the right direction. @@Ponskippa absolutely! The game capture was so easy to use and even easier to share with friends. Stadia has amazing tech. My favorite feature was the ability to play games on my phone, then switch over to my TV instantly and pick up where I left off. The mobility of the platform was huge!
@@DustinGonzalez It's hard to believe that the easiest, most affordable and most reliable cloud gaming service is being shuttered now. Not even GFN is can touch it on ease of use.

It had so much going for it but in the end Google just got in their own way, yes market conditions for the overall company was cited, but this should have been wayyyy more successful than what it was. Its a shame, I introduced my gf to Stadia just last week and she was blown away by Stadia and the fact she could play an unaltered version of RDR2 on her phone. She was probably more devastated by today's announcement than I was.

Lol, you're oblivious if you think cloud gaming isn't the future... Do you think MS spending millions of dollars to bring cloud titles to Ultimate Game Pass is an anomaly? As an Xbox Series X owner I can tell you that graphically Google had their stream quality, controller-feel and feature set (like multi controller support and reliable brower streaming with vibration) significantly improved over Xcloud's implementation. I'll wait a few years so you can see how the future plays out, but I think you're going to be the one that is shocked.

But the REAL reason you shouldn’t be shocked by this is the fact that it’s freaking Google running the service. They are no strangers to canceling projects both physical and digital. Their graveyard of killed projects is long and well documented so why anyone would want to be an early adopter of anything they do is kinda baffling

I’m predicting an astronomical spike in users for geforce now

The service at the moment is very popular, with queues of upwards of 400 people, which can take up to an hour
With stadia players moving to gfn could cause over 1000 people at one time
And I remember when I would be annoyed at a 70 person queue…

With all that refund money, I'm sure a lot of us will be able to find another platform to game. For me , I think Xbox series x with gamepass ultimate is the way to go.

While I am bummed out about Stadia shutting down, I do want to thank you for getting me into cloud gaming in the first place starting with Stadia. At first I was skeptical but after I watched your videos a while ago, I began to explore and try different services with Stadia being my favorite due to performance. I am also looking forward to your future on gaming content since your channel has grown to become one of my favorites on TH-cam. I want to also thank you for being one of the best cloud gaming content creators I have ever seen!

this was bound to happen lol. idk why people thought otherwise. Google is notorious for shutting down services that perform as well and fast as they want.
This is an absolute gut punch. I relied a lot on stadia to run games I can’t otherwise. And wouldn’t have the space for unless I did some serious rearranging. Sucks.
Thanks for all the videos, all the GRID races and all the livestream sessions. I hope we will do some 40 car GRID action before Stadia shuts down. I had already moved on to Xbox for my racing needs, but it's still sad to see Stadia shutting down. This platform brought me back into gaming. I'll never forget all the wonderful people I met here. It's mad because you were the first channel I found that kept it all things Stadia. The fact that I can play next gen FIFA 23 for a lot cheaper made my decision to invest in the Stadia despite the announcement not long after. Thank you for keeping us posted with first look gameplay of new titles and for being all in the way you do. Ima stay subscribed because I trust your intuition on the next big cloud based platform so keep us posted please! 🙏

Gutted, but, as it's Google, inevitable. It's the world's largest advertiser and one of the largest IT service providers, but it managed to miss both open goals, which is quite impressive on its own. Sundar...you need to have a serious word. Sort that sh*t out.
I moved on from Stadia when the studio closure announcement happened and I think I went back to play something twice in all that time. But I still missed what it was supposed to be. I feel for everyone who stayed beyond that.
The Phil Harrison effect. Anything he touches just dies. Now that he's done with Stadia... I wonder what project he's going to destroy next.

The exact point was when Google decided to disband their Stadia game studio.
Can't speak for everyone else but I'm planning to stick around. All us Stadia refugees will need to find a new home, and you can help direct us!

Feels deceptive. Like what Google did with Google music.
Genuinely gutted. Stadia was awesome technology, Google just didn't know how to market it. They could have made the platform work and should have stuck with it for the long term.
Exactly, poor management and strategy. They didn't capitalize like they should of. Things that were in their favor: chip shortage, COVID, scarcity of consoles (PS5), and adaptation of tech and internet.
All they needed to do is convert Stadia into a PC storefront like Steam or Epic Store ( download your games for Windows / Linux) instead of shutting down completely, if they can't handle servers / infrastructure cost etc..

Been here from the start and am gutted!! I was playing overcooked with my 5yr old daughter last night when I heard the news, think she will be heart broken as well. I refuse to pay the cost for a new console so will be missing out for a bit.
I will say over the last 3 years I have not seen 1 advert for Satdia... TH-cam is full of trashy adds but they didnt even advertise their own product?? Absolute disgrace of marketing and thier own downfall. The product was groundbreaking and the future but will never pull the FANBOYS away from their expensive physical media.

This is outrageous to be honest. Stadia brought me back to gaming. As someone who doesn't own any of the newer consoles or even a good PC, i really relied on stadia for gaming and never even once had a lag issue or buffer problem and steadily gamed consistently on stadia on my phone and tablet. Before stadi i never thought about gaming since the early 2000s because i just never pictured myself coughing up that kind of money to buy a new console. So yeah this is the worst news for people like me and i hope something else comes along or at least for geforce now to get alot bigger on phones and tablets. Sunny i hope you stay on the cloud gaming forefront because i always look forward to your vids and wish you the absolute best in your future endeavors.

It's pretty sad that stadia shuts down next year considering the fact not everyone can afford a powerful computer to run very demanding steam games but it looks like some users will have to wait a long time until they get a better pc to run demanding steam titles which can be disappointing for some people to be honest

Turned my stadia on for the first time in 8 months and saw the message. Damn

Stadia staff as you said we’re blind sided. They really thought they were going live w new UI, new games, new countries. Spoke to one of them and somehow I ended up having an interview with New York Times after they saw my essay in a group. Stadia staff were very kind and I made sure to tell them that. Google/Alphabet suits did this.
Sucks that I got those games last night. 50 total I bought and I tried so hard to get friends to join and now this.

It’s crazy, I just read the email and came straight to this channel thinking I’d been sent a bogus email. Funny enough, I just got into GeForceNow about a week ago so I guess I won’t be completely done with cloud gaming but, man, what a blow. I loved Stadia and it’s a pure disappointment it ended so abruptly.
I was stunned that LG released a Stadia app on my TV, stunned that it worked, stunned by the quality and now stunned its going.
This was always doomed to failure.
Thank you for all the effort to always keep people updated with Stadia! It was awful receiving the news yesterday, the team was devastated. I feel for the developers, who I always was super grateful to be able to support, specially the adorable indies that nade my day so much better with their happiness to launch games on Stadia. It was a great work and I feel super lucky that I was able to do it, not to mention getting to know the awesome Stadia community. Stadia was still growing and doing great stuff, disappointed with the decision at such a promissing time for the platform. But oh well x.x it's life I guess. Keep doing great stuff Sunny!

There are 2 points where stadia failed.
1. The announcement really early that it is not netflix for games and requires a sub and games payed separately.
2. Xbox game pass jumped on stadia's failure to be netflix and provided a better service in general.
Hello from Germany, please stay with Sunny Cloud Gaming. We will continue to watch your content and I have always had GFN and Stadia for example. xcloud, GFN, Luna is a lot of content.

I feel very sad about this. I felt that Stadia had problems, but it also had the best “pick up and play” experience that I’ve ever had in gaming. I wasn’t a believer in cloud gaming, but Stadia showed me how great of an experience it could be.
It’s not the end, Sunny! Keep your chin up and keep making great content! Need to know where I can get my cloud gaming fix now that Stadia is gone 🙂

And for now I've moved to Luna. Mainly because I have a Ubisoft plus sub and Luna is the other option. It's been a mixed couple of hours with it so far. I've played a little Ghost Recon Breakpoint and it was a pretty good experience so far.
If you go with the PC Ubisoft plus you get access to over 100 games with GeForce Now. The PC sub is also cheaper. With Luna Ubisoft plus you pay a few dollars more and have access to around 40 games.
I'm a retro gamer at heart. The only reason I tried Stadia is my son got a free controller and puck with premium. I enjoyed playing games I normally would never play and meet some people I would normally never meet. Was hoping for a full Bulders Gate 3. Oh well back to the retro games.

Stadia team was blindsided, but Google knew for a while now. Remember back in July that guy went on Twitter and said Stadia would shut down Sept 29th and we all laughed at him. Internals at Google definitely knew for at least a couple months now.

Dude this is very sad, I know it’s only a platform but this platform allowed me to game again, I got two small children and I don’t have the space for a big console so it was ideal.
Without bashing Phil Harrison so much, his track record is not amazing. The community is incredible in cloud gaming, your content is always gonna be watched in my eyes, I love knowing about everything cloud gaming even if I don’t comment on every video. That one guy back in July went on a Twitter rant saying Stadia would close Sept 29th. Everyone bashed him. This was obviously in their plans for a few months now. RIP Stadia. Screw u to Google!!

It is a shame, I think they really had a great system, the unfortunate part is that it was another “console “ that required game devs to port or develop games to/for. Between Sony and Xbox along with Nindindo, it’s hard to have another console with a unproven track record. But as far as the streaming technology, they were really really good!
Good news is..you have gotten enough traction on here to successfully shift focus slightly. People like your stuff and you will be successful.
You should be proud, if it weren't for you this would have happened well before this. Google should thank you for doing more to push this platform then even they did.
