    98 percent of people survive covid. Recovery is another matter entirely. We might not know the long term effects for years to come.

    Long haul recovery is really tough. I had severe covid early in November (extreme muscle weakness, fatigue, loss of appetite [I lost 14 lbs.] , brain fog, loss of senses of taste and smell. I didn't have any fevers or respiratory symptoms. I slept 16 houra a day and could not get out of bed or shower without help. I was acutely sick for about 17 days. I am now in the 7th week of recovery. I still have mild fatigue, mild brain fog, and mild muscle weakness. and I cannot taste or smell anything. I depend on my wonderful husband for help all day long. I can't drive or even walk to my mailbox. Long haul recovery is no joke. It can go on for a long time. I think it 's what chronic fatigue syndrome must feel like.

    This virus is devastating! I wish you well sir!

    • @oiseau_libre
      @oiseau_libre 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What's devastating is how easily people are manipulated to be scared out of their minds.
      This is ONE story. The likelihood of someone getting really sick because of this "deadly " virus is way lower than getting hit by a car.
      There's always a chance of that.
      But you don't lock yourself at home because of that. You know why?? Because it's NOT on TV.
      I wish people would turn off tv and turn on their brains and analytical skills.

    • @newportz06
      @newportz06 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@oiseau_libre I think you completely misunderstood the purpose of lockdowns. If you work at a hospital you might have a better understanding of why some areas require this lock down. hospitals are not staffed or equipped enough to take in all these covid patients that require intensive care. Obviously the chances of surviving the virus is very high, but the small % of people that are struggling through it is still too high for hospital capacity. I find is very odd why this is so difficult to comprehend.

    Hope things get better for you ! Iam 70 and mostly stay home with wife and only go out when need to , always wear mask and stsy as far away from people, you didn't mention what kind of job you had and did you wear a mask ? Theres alot if stories on PEOPLE getting the virus but haven t heard much on how it is being contacted. No mask ? Not washing ? Not distancing ? Going to restsursnts ? I never got jabbed. I did have a mild case of covid. The only symptoms I had was a slight loss of smell and taste. Year later I developed severe peripheral neuropathy no doctor can explain.
    Foot drop, loss of knee jerk reflex...swelling and pain in feet and lower legs. Loss of balance...
    If anyone has an idea how to help, let me know. Thousands of example of this misery all over the internet and not a single suggestion that works on how to help it or fix it. This is supposedly the country with most advanced healthcare... I think not.

      Are you serious? Do you not know how contagious this virus is? You only have to be around someone with covid to get it. Droplets live on surfaces for days. Why do you think it spreads through long term care homes? Weakened immune systems with one infected person and you have an outbreak. You don't have to touch someone to get it. Read a book and arm yourself with some information. After 10 months of dealing with this worldwide, it's embarrassing that people like you ask these ridiculous questions! I hope you're American because if you're Canadian, there's no excuse for your ignorance.

      On a more positive note; it CAN. Most recover after 3+ years, but some 4% won't. Rest, pacing and refraining from strenuous activities in the early stages of this post viral fatigue syndrome is vital and may induce recovery over time. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

File for LTD if you have it, CPP Disability pension also, you may never be able to work again. It took 18 months for my CPP to be approved and I had no salary or energy to fight. Good luck and take care. Reserve your energy for the important stuff, like family. ❤️

So sad that so many people still don't even consider our health care system and the human beings working there or that they consider any of their fellow human beings. Yet, people still want to travel, business as usual when it is in no way "business as usual". The rest of us who are doing our part should band together.
